Fireworks

As usual, community members gathered on the beaches to celebrate the 4th of July with fireworks, preferably illegal fireworks, purchased in nearby states with looser laws. Georgia and I were supposed to meet the the kids at 8:30 and go out on the boat to watch, but they got held up and didn't make it, so we left, and made it out to the just off shore just as the sun was setting.
Some fireworks were going off even before we made it out of the harbor, but the bigger displays got going around 9:00

All I had was my cheap cell phone camera, so the pictures are pretty lousy. You really had to be there.

Things seemed to slow substantially after 9:30, and we headed in. Even so, a few fireworks went off overhead as we were coming back into the harbor.
