A Path Less Traveled

I took Skye on a walk to the beach before lunch, and instead of walking down the beach, we started along the trail that runs down the dunes from the horseshoe pit. Here's a view of the harbor mouth from the dune

But that trail ends short of the goal, so we had to get back onto the beach to get down to the Calvert Beach gate.

 Beach season is getting started. with more and more people out to enjoy the sun. It was still a little chilly, in the mid 50s.

I found this Zebra Swallowtail puddling in a muddy ditch. Not my first sighting of a Zebra for the year, it was the first that posed for a photo
