The first day of 2013 at the beach was seasonably cool, temperatures in the low 40s, not at all windy, and overcast. Not a bad day for January.
The tide was pretty far out, and there was lots of material; but I didn't do well picking up shark's teeth (again). A slow start to the year, only 4 and all small.
We met Charlie and his dog Cheyenne down on the beach. Cheyenne was in hyper mode (or more hyper than usual), having been recently released from Megan's while Charlie and Sandy went to Florida for Christmas.
Cheyenne tried to engage Skye in some play, and succeeded a bit; but she also inadvertently shoulder checked her into the Bay at one point.
Charlie found this emu-headed driftwood shillelagh on the beach. Cheyenne got him to throw it. Unlike Skye, Cheyenne is a stick chaser.
There were quite a few folks out on the beach, soaking up the lack of sunshine; oh well, at least it wasn't too cold and windy.
This gentleman was picking up trash on the dunes near the parking lot when we got back. I stopped to thank him and talk a bit; but I forgot to get his name. Next time maybe.
