Beach Report, Sunday, May 22, 2011

We tried to meet Joel at the beach at 9:00 AM this morning.  We missed by a few minutes, but caught up after a little while.  It warm and nice out, with no wind, and the humidity is creeping up.  Allegedly we're headed for the upper 80's today, typical summer weather.

I stopped to take a picture of this crabber just off shore, and Georgia and Joel got ahead.  The tide was very high, and fossil hunting was poor.  Georgia found the only one, a beaten Snaggletoothed shark tooth.
Another picture of the mystery plant of the week.  I haven't been able to figure out what this one is, but it's quite common and blooming up and down the beach.  When growing out in the open it forms an nice globular shrub.
Skye hauls herself out of the freshwater pool she went wading in.  The little pool and waterfall were still here despite my predictions from yesterday.
