The Bird Eating Fish

A video has surfaced showing that African Tigerfish (one of the things that Jeremy Wade stalked on "River Monsters") leap out of the water to catch birds skimming over the surface:

African Tigerfish are one of more fearsome looking fish in the world, with gigantic needle like teeth:

Oh, you want to see the teeth?
That's better.  Those teeth look like they might be evolved for grabbing birds.  The long needle-like teeth would penetrate the feathers to pierce the flesh and hold onto a bird, where shorter teeth, even if sharp, might not.  I know that pike eat ducks, but as far as I know, they only eat them off the surface; they don't go airborne for them.

And now, some more women dedicated to saving the world by helping defeat the Tigerfish menace:

Nice One
