It's a warm (81!) muggy, and cloudy day here as we await the rains, first from a cold front, and then from the remains of Hurricane Nate. We actually interrupted Skye's couch nap so we could get a start before lunch.
It's getting late in the year for butterflies, but this somewhat worse for wear Common Buckeye
was hanging out in the dunes.
The GBH's were out.
A small "Mako" (really a White Shark)
tooth, as I found it, partially covered by sand.
Here it is free of the sand, and safely in hand.

was the prize of the day.
