This morning, the beach was chilly,35 F, and just a tad windy, 10-15 from the north. However, it was bright and clear, the tide was low, and a lot of "shell hash" was strewn on the beach, which promises decent fossil hunting. We ended up with 33 sharks teeth, and a few other fossils.
Bikini weather is long past. Overcoats and waterproof boots are the preferred garb. A few other hardy folk were out looking for fossils.
Some don't really care about the chill, in fact, the cooler the better. Skye started off well today, but took a head plant jumping off a jetty on the way home, and end up limping badly.
A lucky shot of a flying seagull. It's rare for the "autofocus" on the little point and shoot to get the focus right on a flying bird...
The eagles were out and about. When I first walked up they were close together, on the same branch, so I assume they are a couple. However, the lower one in this shot took off to chase a crow, and settled in a lower branch. I missed a couple of decent shots... It was also obviously eating something that it didn't want to share with the crow.
Another seagull, just as it got ready to fly.
The swans are back in greater numbers than before. There were two groups, one a pair that stayed separate from a group of 5, which consisted of 2 adults (solid white with black bills) and 3 juveniles, (gray heads, with red on the bill). Again, I suspect it's a pair and their young
