Good Song, Bad Idea

John "Swift Boat" Carie Kerry, or someone in the State Department had the brilliant idea to make up for the Obama administration's apparent indifference to the Charlie Hebdo massacre by bringing Jame's Taylor over to serenade them with "You've Got a Friend":

The song was written by Carole King (aka Carol Joan Klein), a good New York Jewess, who might find herself unwelcome as such in parts of Paris these days.

I like the song, finger pick it myself sometimes, and like many James Taylor songs.

But this idea was just lame. Maybe Jen Psaki should stick to hashtag diplomacy. Did France send mimes after 911? Is this really what passes for international relations?

Someone needs to put the adults in charge again.
