Return to the Beach

After 2 week ends away, Skye and I finally got down the beach this morning.  It is a cool and blustery day, with whitecaps.  It also the first day in months that I've needed to wear a long sleeve shirt and even a light jacket.  It was nice and sunny, though.
Not much of a day for seeing things though, only a few people on the beach, and the birds were not much in evidence, except for a crowd of gulls. No sign of Ospreys, and only a single flyover from a juvenile eagle.
Skye was pretty happy to be there at long last, and zipped around like crazy; I'm sure she'll be having a long afternoon nap now.  We were an hour ahead of Joel, but we did walk a while at the end, and Skye and Red reacquainted themselves.
A sadly (or rather happily) beat up jellyfish rolled up on the beach.  Sea Nettle season is probably done for at this point.
A migrant Monarch butterfly on the beach, trying to dry the dew from its wings to continue the migration south.
