Rule 5 Saturday - Catherine Bell - When in Doubt, Send the Marines

Or at least a woman who played one on TV.  This week's Rule 5 post is devoted to Catherine Bell, who played Marine Major and then Lieutenant Sarah McKenzie on JAG from 1996 to 2005.  This is also tribute to the Marine Corps Birthday this week, on Nov. 10.  Anyway, Catherine is a lot better looking than my marine friend, Fisk.

Continuing the  military theme, since 2007 she has been playing Denise Sherwood in "Army Wives". She has also played the lead role of Cassandra Nightengale in the Hallmark "Good Witch" series of movies, 2008-2011, for which she also co-executive producer, whatever the heck that entails.

Born in London, she is another testament to hybrid vigor, her father is Scottish and her mother Iranian, a odd combo to be sure, but one which seems to have worked well in this case.
A wanna be engineer, she dropped out of a biomechanical engineering program to model and act.  She began acting in 1992, playing "Lisle's Body Double" in "Death Becomes Her".  Great role.  She played one of Bruce's romantic interests in "Bruce Almighty" with Jim Carey
She has recently signed onto a new movie project "Desert Storm" continuing the military theme, although she plays a reporter, not a soldier.

Well that's about all I have, except more pictures.  There's more of course, but you can find it yourself.

But first, a little ditty about the Marines from a pointy headed Harvard Mathematics Professor, Tom Leherer.

More Catherine Bell below the jump:

Brother Ted picked this up in his "Weekend Women" post, in which he celebrates Honor Black aka "Pussy Galore" or "Cathy Gale".  Also William Teach at The Pirate's Cove linked in his "Sorta Blogless Sunday Pinup".   Maggie at Maggie's Farm posts the "10 Hottest Blonds", though I don't see how you can limit the list that much. Finally, a day behind the usual Sunday, the Wombat at The Other McCain posts his weekly collection, for Rule 5 Monday. But wait, now The Classical Liberal also picked it up in his collection of cuties.
