A lot of digits are being spilt over Governor "Tampon" Tim Walz's military service. He apparently served honorably, but not particularly heroically, in the Army National Guard, including one oversees stint in Italy during Operation Enduring Freedom, for 20+ years. Having been promoted to Command Sergeant, and just before his unit was called up for Iraq, he retired, saying he wanted to go into politics, as was his right. Upon retiring, he was demoted back to Master Sergeant, because he hadn't served long enough as Command Sergeant (3 years). All above board. In his subsequent career as a politician, he claimed to have retired as a Command Sergeant, and to have carried an AR15 in war, certainly shading the truth. Some military folk are, to say the least, not happy.
