Flotsam and Jetsam - Is The Tide Is Turning Against Big Trans?

It appears that the week's furor over the impending (or not) indictment and arrest of Donald Trump has ended with a whimper, though I'm sure it will heat up again. At NYPo, Jonathon Turley lays out Why Alvin Bragg’s case against Trump is falling apart. The Free Bacon reports an old Democratic Operative Takes Credit for Sparking Trump Hush Money Probe. Former "Special" counsel to President Clinton, Lannie Davis. Democrat hoaxes always seem to point back to the Clintons. Ben Whedon at JTN hears Turley worry about a 'Race to the bottom': Legal experts fear escalation spiral ahead of possible Trump indictment "My concern is that this could trigger a type of tit-for-tat response where Republican prosecutors seek to weaponize criminal charges against Democrats." Game Theory teaches us that a tit-for-tat response minimizes the cheating by making it not pay off.

From Chicks on the Right, Another Day, Another Biden Train Wreck Of A SpeechDaily Wire@realDailyWire: Biden: "I applaud China...excuse me, I applaud Canada." Jennifer Van Laar at Red State reports FAA Nominee Phil Washington Withdraws His Nomination, after having been shown to be perfectly incompetent by the Senate GOP, and revelations of a pay-to-play scandal in his previous gig. At Breitbart, Report: Hunter’s Allies ‘Distrust’ White House Defense of Biden Family Business.

Politico is concerned with Trump’s beer track advantage over Ron DeSantis, "The divide quickly defining the GOP primary." At CTH, sundance hosts President Trump Talking to Newsmax About Ron DeSantis and Election 2024, also, Mid-Tier Donor Class Very Worried About Ron DeSantis 2024 Management Agenda. Mike Miller at Red State says DeSantis Goes Bottom Line When Asked if He'd Play Second Banana to Trump in 2024 "Not to bury the lede, but anyone who knows anything about both Donald Trump and Ron DeSantis knows two things. First, DeSantis drips executive power. Second, given Trump’s continuing attacks and attempts to take credit for DeSantis’ success, why would he give up his successful governorship to take it?" At Public, Zero Dark Trump…

From Mediaite, Biden Mocks Wall Street at Press Conference — Says ‘We’ve Done A Pretty Damn Good Job’ On Bank Failures. What color is the sky in his world? At Red State Nick Arama wants you to WATCH as Sen. Kennedy Wrecks Janet Yellen, WH During Grilling on US Economy

He's a national treasure. At ET, Billionaire Investor Warns Economy Heading for ‘Train Wreck’ After Fed’s Latest Move. Barron's  explains What It Means that Banks Are Borrowing at Financial Crisis Levels. YaHoo! U.S. Banks are sitting on $1.7 trillion in unrealized losses, research says. That’s not a problem—until it is. Sundance sees Deutsche Bank Loses 10% Value After EU Leaders Say “Banking System Is Stable in Europe.”

At PJM  Megan Fox thinks it's Unreal that Emergency Motion Claims FBI Didn't Disclose Informant Inside Proud Boys Defense Team. That's a bit naive. And Vicky Taft Ray reports Epps' Lawyer Threatens Tucker Carlson: 'You Didn't See What You Saw on J6 Video — or Else' Yeah, good luck with that. WaEx reports Progressive Democrats join MTG to visit Jan. 6 defendants in DC jail  "Freshman Reps. Jasmine Crockett (D-TX) and Robert Garcia (D-CA) are planning to join the congressional delegation as they seek to bring an ideological balance to Friday’s visit, according to Axios. The pair emphasized their presence is not meant to be interpreted as supporting Greene’s endeavors to paint Jan. 6 defendants as “political prisoners” but rather to highlight broader matters of incarceration reform." WSJ highlights Dominion’s Weak Case Against Fox. "Victory for the plaintiff would severely weaken the First Amendment protection all news media enjoy" which is the only reason they care.

Ace, Newly-Revealed Emails Show That Biden's Praetorian Were Successful in Convincing the Media to Refuse to Run Any Negative Stories About the Invalid Candidate, "One aide bragged that she convinced an alleged journalist to "not use" any negative information about the Biden family unless "her editors held a gun to her head." At LI, Leslie Eastman finds a Study that Concludes Nature’s 2020 Endorsement of Biden Hurt Trust in Science "The progressive attempts to push pseudoscience on Americans are reaping some unintended consequences." You're not supposed to trust science, you're supposed to question it intelligently. At Racket, Matt Taibbi says People Can Win. "We've been trained to think that endless rule by tiny minorities of really horrible people is the natural order of things, but that turns out to be just another lie." Neil Patel at Creators makes an interesting link, What's Driving Speech Codes and Bank Failures -- It's All the Same Problem. "The real reason for all the new speech restrictions is a breakdown in trust. The American people have lost trust in their leaders and their institutions."

All of which leaves us with only the "Culture War" section, which is double stuffed because I let it slide yesterday. At Commentary, Abe Greenwald claims The Tide Is Turning Against Big Trans. I'd like to believe that. At Twitchy, NPR roasted for claiming ‘limited scientific evidence’ trans women have a physical advantageChristina Pushaw@ChristinaPushaw, "NPR is funded by American taxpayers despite zero scientific evidence of any benefit to society. Stacy McCain, says ‘Limited Scientific Evidence’ my ass, or words to that effect. "Are you kidding me with this? What kind of “journalism” is being practiced at NPR? Perhaps the kind in which ordinary common sense is prohibited." vicky Marshall at Da Fed sees Georgia, Iowa Overcome Near-Unanimous Democrat Opposition To Ban Child Mutilation Surgeries. At Fox, Proposed 'Texas Millstone Act' would ban transgender procedures under age 26, open doctors to prosecution. "House Bill 4754 would allow those who believe they were harmed by transgender procedures to sue"

Critical Consciousness
CNS News, reports a New Wyoming Law Bans 'Transgender Women' From Real Women's Sports Teams. Liz Cheney hurt worst. At Da Wire, Critics React After Biological Man Wins NY Women’s Bicycling Race.  𝕂𝕣𝕚𝕤𝕥𝕚𝕟𝕊𝕡𝕖𝕔𝕚𝕒𝕝𝕂@CallMeK1123 "They’ll call us everything except what we are: women." Breitbart catches WaPo: Few Self-Claimed ‘Transgender’ Adults Undergo Surgery. Da Caller, Washington Post Poll Inadvertently Finds Vast Majority Of ‘Trans’ People Aren’t Really Transgender, they just suffer a fetish about being women. Walt Heyer at Da Fed warns The ‘Sex Change’ I Had 40 Years Ago Was A Scam, Not Medicine. Mark Judge at Stream connects Transgenderism, Jazz Jennings and The Fly. Ilya Shapiro at CJ is Correcting the Record on Social Transition "Public schools treat “gender affirmation” of distressed kids as a neutral act. It isn’t." Derek Hunter at Town Hall, You’ve Come A Long Way, (Trans)Baby! "It’s actually worse than losing their minds, it’s to the point now where they claim the right to butcher the bodies of others, of kids."

Blac Chyna
At The Other McCain, the Wombat points out Fear And Loathing On The Intertubes, where the crowd came to the defense of gamer threatened with cancellation over, well, it's hard to figure out. "As Brandon Morse noted*, what’s significant here is not that somebody got bullied off the internet, but the massive backlash that bullying inspired in not just VTuber fandom, but a lot of people who had just had it up to here with the (alleged) minority of trans activists going around making other peoples’ lives miserable over video games. A lot of trans activists online got jumped on with both boots for not policing their own bad actors, and then 4chan got into the act." Louder With Crowder reports Blac Chyna Quit OnlyFans After Conversion to Christianity

Mulder’s Long Fight for Account Reinstatement@proteinwisdom "Stunning and brave. Not everyone has the balls to stand up for the right to cut them off of children."

On the other hand, UPI, cited by Hat Hair, Kentucky gov vetoes "anti-trans" bill. Kentucky? "The legislation would have banned gender-affirming care for patients under 18, banned transgender students from using the bathroom of their choice, end a requirement that teachers use correct pronouns for students, and also ban lessons on sexual orientation." Beege Wellborn snarks I love how the news service phrases it – “anti-trans” – and as opposed to protecting minors, with nothing about children’s rights. From the Daily Fetched, Pentagon Doctors: 7-Year-Olds Can Consent to Be Injected with Puberty Blockers. At the Free Bacon, Dems Push to Make Oregon a Safe Haven for Child Sex Changes "Dem-backed bill would also allow girls of any age to get abortion without parental consent." Forget it Jake, it's Oregon. Louder with Crowder is outraged by 13-year-old boy dresses like girl, sexually gyrates on stage. At PJM  Kevin Downey finds a Boston School Latest to Ask Young Kids About Their Sex Lives and Stephen Kruiser says Enough With the Pervert Adults in Public Schools, Already. KT at Hat Hair, Wait. What? A principal was fired over 6th graders seeing a photo of Michelangelo’s David sculpture. "Two parents complained that they were not given advance notice and one parent called the art “not age-appropriate” for the children and pornographic." Yeah, that's a little extreme.

Regarding the recent Stanford kerfuffle, Mike LaChance at LI points out Alan Dershowitz Says Stanford Law Protest was Orchestrated by Well Known Left Wing Group.  “The disruption was organized by the local chapter of National Lawyers Guild as part of a nationwide effort to suppress conservative speech.” At WSJ (cited at Hat Hair) a Stanford Law professor: Can't ignore the rise of ideological intolerance on campus any longer. Chaz Cooke at NRO (also cited at Hat Hair) thinks Tirien Steinbach doesn't get to judge the "juice" or the "squeeze". Capt. Ed at Hat Hair hears the Stanford DEI dean: We have to start listening! (To me). At Da Caller, Diversity Dean Speaks Out After Being Placed On Leave, Defends Berating Conservative Judge. TaxProf, DEI Dean Escalates Battle Against Dean; Stanford Law School's Sole Conservative Professor Weighs In. Insty, FIRE THEM. NOT BECAUSE OF THIS, BECAUSE THEY’RE DEI DEANS. A debate on DEI will be held at MIT. The university’s DEI deans refuse to participate. From the College Fix, DEI training asks scholars which ethnicities should live or die in hypothetical scenario. The DEI deans, obviously. Campus Reform, University removes statement compelling faculty speech after CRO report.

From Fox, 'Parents Bill of Rights' wins zero votes from Dems who attack it as 'fascism,' 'extreme' attack on schools "The bill is the GOP's response to growing anger about lack of access to school information across the nation" and AOC roasted over calling Republican parents' rights bill 'fascism:' 'Clown show every time she talks' "Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez claimed her progressive value is 'freedom over fascism'" 'Bonchie' at Red State, Democrats Blow Their Tops Over New Parental Bill of Rights. Well, their tops are pretty loosely attached. At the Floridian, Gaetz Votes Against Parental Rights Bill, Says Education is a State Issue, "Lawmaker says it's up to the states, not the federal government." He has a point, but a federal problem demands a federal solution. Tiffany Justice at HE, The Biden administration is chilling parents’ fundamental rights
