Beach Report 1/18/23

I haven't done this in a while, not because we quit going to the beach every day, but rather because the weather has been lousy, the water dirty and rough, the tides rather high, and fossils few and not very exciting.
Today, however, the sky was blue, the temperatures in the mid 50s, without much wind, and the tide low enough to get around the rocks at Calvert Beach and the clay bank at Matoaka.
Fossils were still a little stingy at appearing, although this White Shark tooth turned up right in front of the rocks in the first picture on the way back.
Possibly even more interesting was this little piece which I strongly suspect is a piece of a Sperm Whale tooth, from the banding pattern.
