Skye and I got an early start. Georgia didn't come today, having business elsewhere.
A big mass of sweet autumn clematis aka sweet autumn virginsbower beside the beach parking lot.
A faded and somewhat ragged Monarch visits. Must be getting time to be moving south.
The beach was nearly vacant in the wake of Labor Day.
Speaking of southward migrations, I saw this eagle in business of harassing an Osprey. The Ospreys will be leaving for their winter grounds in Central and South America soon, and the eagles will have to fish for themselves, or eat carrion.
Our Florida friend found the little pool formed where the small creek crosses the beach between Long and Calvert Beaches. I'll bet it's just full of yummy Mummichogs.
