Morning Politics

While it's still morning. Barely. Upon Da Hill worries that Democrats face nightmare scenario, ‘biblical disaster’ in the midterms. Be still, my beating heart. Anxious is anxious that House GOP sets its sights on Biden country. At PJ Media, Stephen Kruiser reacts, Republican PAC Going for the 'Kill' in House Districts Where Biden Won Big. Scott McCay at Am Spec foresees The Democrats’ Midterm Strategy: Threats and Name-Calling, but warns "A scorched-earth national campaign is likely to burn down the Democrat Party instead of its intended victims. At Da Fed, Joy Pullman says While Everyone Else Is Kicking Themselves For Voting For Biden, College-Educated Women Are Doubling Down

Of course, inflation is one of the issues driving this years election, and the news is not favorable to the party holding the reins. Mary Chastain at LI, Inflation Hits a Four-Decade High With an 8.5% Surge in March. PM, BIDENFLATION: Consumer prices surge to 40-year high. Sundance at CTH, Inflation Rate Jumps to 8.5 Percent as Energy, Food and Gasoline Prices SkyrocketDuring Speech to Blame Vladimir Putin for Massive Inflation, Bird Poops on Joe Biden and  Multiple Simultaneous Food Production Impacts Create Global Concern. Ace, Inflation Soared 8.5% In March, Another Highest-in-40-Years Record, "And that's just the first scoop of terrible news. The second scoop of terrible news is that analysts increasingly fear a major recession to go along with the sky-high prices." Capt. Ed at Haut Hair notes Manchin telling Biden, Quit the "Putin price hike" blame-shifting on inflation already. At the Political Insider, Critics Say Biden Rewrite Of Trump-Era Rule Will Raise Energy Prices, Bog Down Development. But Democrats consider that a feature, not a bug.

AllahPundit at Haut Hair VIP has hopes, Is Brian Kemp going to defeat Trump's primary challenge -- without a runoff?. NewsMax sees Utah Sen. Mitt Romney Unsure of Political Future and Stephen Kruiser at PJ Media thinks Mitt Romney Seems to Know That He's Jeff Flaked Himself. Dear Pierre Delecto, go back to fixing Olympics. WJ, Texas Officials Say Gov. Abbott's Threat to Bus Immigrants to DC Has Worked. Ned Ryun, at Am Great on Trumps endorsement of Dr. Oz, Trump Had Every Reason to Endorse Dr. Oz, "When you get a handful of lemons like we have with the Republican primary in Pennsylvania, you make lemonade. And Trump is making sweet lemonade out of them." I'm still skeptical, but there is a long history of entertainers becoming more conservative and becoming decent politicians

Speaking of which, at PM, FLASHBACK: Dr. Oz was an early promoter of 'trans children', including surgery. John Sexton at Haut Hair hears a Transgender psychologist: 'I think it’s gone too far'. Breitbart, Schoolhouse Sickos: New Jersey Lesson Plan Endorses Puberty Blockers to Fifth Graders to ‘Manage’ Teen Years. Andrea Widburg at Am Think thinks (no, not yet) that a A drag show in a suburban high school showcases leftists' narcissism. At WaEx, Disney heir comes out as transgender, family slams Florida law. Paul Bedard at WaEx, Americans turn back on Disney after LGBTQ embrace. I doubt that one in ten Americans are even aware of the controversy.

At Town Hall, a mother reports how I Asked What My Daughter Would Learn in Kindergarten. Then the Teachers Union Sued Me. If they want to keep it hidden, there's an issue. Chris Rufo at CJ, No Conspiracy Theory, Parents are right to worry about sexual abuse of students by school officials. In my experience, people tend to go into fields to follow an interest. ** There was 100% turnout in nursing homes in Zuckerberg-funded Wisconsin cities – they stole the votes from seniors.
** The voter rolls were deliberately not cleaned in the state with millions of extra names.
** The state election commission charged Republicans $12,500 for data requests but Democrats were given similar data requests for free.

Herr Professor Jacobsen at LI reports WaPo Seeks Foreign Correspondent To Cover Texas, “a part of the country that is governed largely by one political party” "“to document life in red state America and develop a new beat mapping the culture, public policies and politics in a region shaped by conservative ideology”

Short version: WaPo wants a seasoned journalist who can take a hatchet to people WaPo hates (most of Texas and red states), to mock them, and to do what was done to the Tea Party and Trump supporters, find some outlier and taint the entire state and movement with that person.

Matt Vadum at Front Page reports on attempts at Disbarring Trump’s Lawyers, "David Brock wants them to pay the price for representing someone he hates."

Rex Huppke thinks Elon Musk should take over Twitter, shut it down and fire the social media giant into space. I'm down with that. On the hand, Fox reports New York Times calls Elon Musk’s possible future plans ‘treacherous,’ ‘threat’ to Twitter , like it's a bad thing. Anxious is anxious, Elon Musk's Twitter board reversal just latest lack of follow through, or maybe they just don't understand his plans.
