Election: Silliness Lingers with AOC and Ted Cruz

Holiday silly season continues, as Jazz Shaw at Haut Hair takes note of how AOC tries to dunk on DeSantis over "vacation." It doesn't go well. As PM points out, Ron DeSantis accompanied wife to cancer treatment while AOC and other critics suggested he was 'missing'. Matt Vespa at Town Hall  say Oh, So That's Why Liberals Are Going to Eat It Over Their 'DeSantis Is Missing' Antics, and Derek Hunter, also at Town Hall claims AOC Ends 2021 Even Dumber Than She Started It, a high bar, indeed. But attainable, as LI hears AOC Defends Her Covid Hypocrisy With Impeccable Logic: “Republicans are mad they can’t date me”. Gag me with a spoon! JTN, AOC theory for criticism of her Miami Beach jaunt: 'Republicans are mad they can’t date me'. NewsThud, AOC suggests Republicans are mad they can't date her and “projecting their sexual frustrations”. Atop Da Hill, Joseph Choi seems to take her seriously, Ocasio-Cortez criticizes GOP for 'projecting their sexual frustrations' at her. At Twitchy, Mary Katherine Ham can relate to AOC’s hounding by Republicans mad that they can’t date her:

Mary Katharine Ham@mkhammer

I relate to AOC. Literally every criticism of me boils down to people being disappointed they can’t have sex with me. It is indeed a burden, but one we must bear.

At the Babylon Bee, Ted Cruz Says All His Haters Are Just Unable To Resist His Raw Sex Appeal, while this May Just Be the Slimiest Media Move Yet Against Ted Cruz (Nick Arama at Red State), stalking his 13 year old daughter's TicToc and trumpeting her disagreement with her Dad. Isn't that every teenager ever?

Pat Buchanan, Biden's Staring into the Abyss -- and So Are We. Capt. Ed at Haut Hair sees some Dems looking for a way out, Progressives' new year resolution: Primary Biden?. That assumes he's really going to run, which I doubt. At the Cook Report, Why 2022 Rhymes With the Previous Four Midterms.  Naomi Lim at WaEx warns Democrats worry 2022 won't be merry and bright for Biden or the party. Breitbart reports Joe Biden Ends 2021 with Terrible New Year’s Eve Headlines. Augustus Howard at NYPo thinks Voters need to start turning the page on Biden’s disastrous presidency

Chris Queen at PJ Media wonders Is Hillary Preparing for a 'Pick Me' Moment? and at PM, Sarah Palin hints at potential return to politics: 'I want to serve'. Are they on drugs? I want to feel that good!

At the WJ, Election Fraud Investigators Blanket State with Surprise Subpoenas (Wisconsin).

The investigation into Wisconsin’s elections is still ongoing as special counsel Michael Gableman continues looking into how voting in the state was carried out in the 2020 general election.

Gableman is now issuing about 70 subpoenas to state entities and employees, special interest groups, private companies, mayoral staffers and IT departments, throughout Wisconsin to obtain records, depositions and more information on the election process and organizations that seem to have had a hand in the administration of elections.

Gableman, who was previously a Wisconsin Supreme Court justice, was asked by Speaker of the Wisconsin state Assembly Robin Vos to lead an investigation into the 2020 election in the state. Gableman agreed and was appointed as special counsel.

The Texas Trib reports First part of Texas’ 2020 election audit reveals few issues, echoes findings from review processes already in place

An initial review of four counties’ election results — launched after pressure from former President Donald Trump and touted by GOP leaders — showed few discrepancies between electronic and hand counts of ballots in a sample of voting precincts.

Good, the last thing we want to do is overturn the Texas count.

NYPo has fun at the teachers union's expense, Error-riddled Virginia teachers union letter gets roasted on social media

"Get ready. . . . A deadly riot? This exaggeration loses me. You had a huge crowd — supposedly crazed, presumably gun owners — and the violence was breaking into the building. I'm willing to count that as bad, but I cannot tolerate the exaggeration. . . .  This emotive style leaves me cold."
It looks to me like WaPoo is ginning itself up for a similar celebration. Shaken by the Jan. 6 attack, Capitol workers quit jobs that once made them proud.  Republicans and Democrats divided over Jan. 6 insurrection and Trump’s culpability, Post-UMD poll finds1 in 3 Americans say violence against government can be justified, citing fears of political schism, pandemic. Oh fine, let's make it a National Holiday like Guy Fawkes Day, get the day off paid, and we can all dress up as the QAnon Shaman.

Althouse reacts to the last article, I've admitted that I myself would have been a Loyalist in the Revolution, but it's interesting to see how much company I have from my fellow Americans. Revolutions are for the young, brave (and mostly stupid) men; old women are not expected to contribute too much.

According to Don Surber, The liar of the year is PolitiFact, but there's still plenty of room on the podium for Joe Biden.
PolitiFact's lie of the year is "Lies about the Jan. 6 Capitol attack and its significance."

But it was PolitiFact's version of the January 6 protest inside the Capitol that was the big, fat lie.

PolitiFact has a lengthy history of lying to serve the Marxists and Maoists in Washington.

At JTN,  Trump confidant Kerik surrenders memos to Jan. 6 panel, vows to ‘eviscerate’ Democrat narrative, "Memos show Trump team planned pressure campaign ahead of Jan. 6 to shame governors and state officials into investigating suspected election irregularities." Those illegal pressure campaigns. Politico whines that Efforts to Trump-proof presidential certification crash into congressional realities, "As lawmakers weigh how to safeguard the certification of elections from a future Jan. 6 attack, they’re facing one huge constitutional roadblock. . . .There’s one problem: A future Congress might simply ignore them."

Kaelen Deese, Jan. 6 panel calls on Supreme Court to deny Trump efforts to block records. Surprise, surprise. It's an illegal committee, improperly constituted against it's own rules. The Supes should shit can it, but they won't.
