Joe Biden, Democrat Hangover Lasts Another Day

At least. The hangover from the Joe Biden's day drinking democrats binge from last week continues. Rasmussen's Daily Presidential Tracking Poll  "shows that 41% of Likely U.S. Voters approve of President Biden’s job performance. Fifty-eight (58%) disapprove. The latest figures include 19% who Strongly Approve of the job Biden is doing and 48% who Strongly Disapprove. This gives him a Presidential Approval Index rating of -29." Ooof! Well, Rasmussen tends a little Republican. So, if I were leading a rebel cabal deep within the FBI Special Task Force on Armed Insurrectionism -- because where else would I be? -- I would get AOCs elected to Congress; I would crash the economy with lockdowns and vaccination mandates; I would make sure that Fed Chairman Jerome Powell kept the money spigots on full bore; I would propose multiple trillion-dollar spending packages artfully described as stimulus, infrastructure, Build Back Better; I would propose to federalize elections to make ordinary people fear for their lives; I would nod-nod-wink-wink to George Soros to elect prosecutors that had no time for prosecuting when there were homes in Florida to be bought; I would totally bungle the retreat from Afghanistan; I would kill the oil-and-gas industry stone dead and increase gas prices by 50 percent; I would call the inevitable inflation “transitory;” I would set up a January 6 Commission to transform the stupid January 6 rioters into noble victims of injustice. And, of course, I would call anyone who objected a “systemic racist.”

New January 6 video footage analyzed by The Epoch Times shows Air Force veteran Ashli Babbit pleading with demonstrators to stop breaking windows and vandalizing property in the moments immediately prior to being shot dead.

“Video shot by John Sullivan, also known as Jayden X, shows that Babbitt tried to stop the violence against the Speaker’s Lobby at least four times before she climbed into a broken window and was shot by U.S. Capitol Police Lt. Michael Byrd. At one point, she was so distressed at the violence, she was jumping up and down in frustration,” Epoch’s Joseph Hanneman reports.

And the redoubtable Julie Kelly (at Am Great as always) has an even more bizarre twist in the Whitmer kidnapping case as "In a stunning move, defense lawyers now want prosecutors to offer immunity not to their clients but to FBI agents and informants," More Trouble for the FBI in the Whitmer Kidnapping Case

In a stunning move, defense lawyers now want prosecutors to offer immunity not to their clients but to FBI agents and informants. A new defense filing took the rare step of asking the judge to order the Justice Department to offer “use immunity” to every FBI asset involved in the plot. Fearing they will invoke their Fifth Amendment right against self-incrimination in court, defense attorneys are attempting to compel testimony that would be immune from prosecution, except charges of perjury.

John Kiyonaga, a D.C. criminal defense attorney representing a few January 6 defendants, told me over the weekend that the request is “mind blowingly rare.”

Prosecutors are desperate to conceal the FBI’s animating, and likely criminal, role in the Whitmer plot. The Justice Department notified the court in December that three of the top FBI agents on the case—including Richard Trask, the FBI investigator who signed the criminal complaint against the federal defendants in October 2020—have been removed from the government’s witness list. (The trial is set for March 8.)

Trask, in fact, was fired by the FBI—a near-impossible feat—after he was arrested for assaulting his wife in a drunken rage following a swingers party last summer. Reporters also discovered several anti-Trump tirades posted on Trask’s social media accounts.

“The investigation in this case was based primarily on the efforts of FBI agents and confidential human sources,” wrote Scott Graham, the attorney representing Kaleb Frank, one of five men facing conspiracy to kidnap charges, punishable by a life sentence. “Normally, these people would testify at trial and would answer relevant questions posed by both sides to the case. The entrapment defense directed at both groups would be argued by the parties and decided by the jury. This case, however, is different from most. It is now apparent that a number of both the agents and sources have reason to refuse to testify by invoking their Fifth Amendment rights against self-incrimination.”
