A Beach Too Far

Skye and I started on our last beach walk for a while this morning around 10. The weather is starting to warm, and get muggy again, and despite Labor Day, the beach was almost empty.
One way to beat the sun.
Skye and I walked way up past Matoaka, up to the beach to where on the way to Western Shores. Fossil hunting was poor, or rather maybe, I was just bad, only 5 small teeth, but two complete sting ray plates.

A somewhat tattered black Eastern Tiger Swallowtail on one of the weeds up the beach.
And a Cloudless Sulphur on the Japanese Knotweed a terrible invasive species, that just happens to be very attractive to butterflies and a variety of other insects.
