We did a beach walk early today, trying to avoid the afternoon heat and humidity and hit the low tide. We were only partly successful in missing the humidity; we had a thunderstorm last night which left everything damp.
The tide was low, and the "shell hash" nicely spread around, and we did pretty well at fossil hunting, 13 shark's teeth and 2 drum's teeth.
The nicest of the shark's teeth, a lower Snaggletooth, a little worn but still pretty pointy.
There were a few butterflies in the dunes; this American Lady. . .
this Zebra Swallowtail . . .
and this Azure. Since it feels like summer I'm going to claim it's a Summer Azure and not the Spring Azure.
