It's warm, nearly 90, mostly sunny, almost windless and humid. We waited until 4 PM for a low tide even though it was the hottest part of the day.
This Green Heron was checking out the fishing on the jetty north side of the harbor channel. You don't usually see them with their neck stretched out like this, but it was clearly checking me out.
Pretty good beach usage for a weekday.
I found this Red Admiral butterfly up puddling in some black sand up near the Kudzu vines.
Interesting Red Admiral fact; they don't survive cold winters, and have to recolonize most of North America from the south each year. Do they migrate back, sort of like Monarchs?
I lucked onto this big, but well worn Snaggletooth Shark lower tooth. We did pretty well today, 22 teeth, but this one tooth may outweigh the rest put together.
