President Obama, while villifying Mitt Romney for opposing the auto industry bailout, bragged about the success of his decision to provide government assistance and said he now wants to see every manufacturing industry come roaring back.Auto industry success, you mean like Volt sales?
“I said, I believe in American workers, I believe in this this American industry, and now the American auto industry has come roaring back,” he said. “Now I want to do the same thing with manufacturing jobs, not just in the auto industry, but in every industry.
General Motors Co. says it sold 1,760 Chevy Volt vehicles in June -- twice the number sold in June 2011. In addition, GM says the 8,817 Volts sold in the first six months of this year exceed last year's total sales of 7,600, despite GM halting production of the Volt for five weeks this year, citing a lack of sales.Or GM Stock Prices (down to $20 from $35 at the beginning of 2011)
Even so, Dr. Tom Borelli, senior fellow for FreedomWorks, offers this perspective.
"The amount of Volts that were sold is actually a backtracked number," he tells OneNewsNow. "Originally, the target for 2012 was supposed to be 45,000 Volts."
Does he know of some naive space aliens with a lot of money to loan?
