Robert Wegrzyn, a politician from the governing Civic Platform party, provoked outrage when he said "you can forget about gay men but I would gladly watch lesbians" in response to a question on live television about whether he approved of homosexual marriages.
Mr Wegrzyn said he "regretted" the joke, and stressed he meant no offence with his off-the-cuff remark.
"I'm sorry if this joke offended anyone because I really could have sounded sexist but this was not my intention," he said, adding that he opposed all discrimination on sexual grounds.
One day you wash up on the beach, wet and naked. Another day you wash back out. In between, the scenery changes constantly.
