Chuck Todd Worries About Midterms, "A Huge Red Flag"

I'm keeping this one short because Skye needs go to her annual "well dog" check this morning.

Starting off with the horserace, NewsBusters finds  Chuck Todd Panicking Over GOP Lead in NBC Midterm Poll 'A Huge Red Flag', but they're not biased or anything. From Maddy Hubbard at JTN, Newt Gingrich says House GOP creating new contract with America for 2022, "Gingrich applauded House Leader Kevin McCarthy, R-Calif., for his "determined, methodical, and systematic leadership". It helps to have the wind in your sails too. At Power Line, Steven Hayward wonders How Low Can Biden Fall? I keep thinking he's near bottom, and he keeps slipping.

In other races, Breitbart claims an Exclusive — Poll: Trump-Backed Kelly Tshibaka Leads Alaska Senate Race, Lisa Murkowski Losing in Reelection Bid. Good, I don't like Murky, and I despise political nepotism, but remember, the last time this happened she won with the support of Democrats. Poltico whines about how Trump turns Michigan into MAGA proving ground, "The former president's level of intervention in the swing state's elections is unmatched anywhere else." Political action is only good when Democrats do it.

John Lott does the math, and finds New report: 255,000 ‘excess votes’ for Biden in six key 2020 states (Paul Bedard at WaEx). I know, these are statistical anomalies, not actionable evidence of fraud, but still . . . It's in a peer-reviewed journal, so it must be right, right?

And in a review of his statistical study he provided to RealClearPolitics, he said that “Biden only carried these states — Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin — by a total of 313,253 votes. Excluding Michigan, the gap was 159,065.”

Lott, who runs the Crime Prevention Research Center, said that his report was not meant to overturn the 2020 election but to reinforce the need for changes to voter identification, absentee voting, and provisional ballots.

“The point of this work isn’t to contest the 2020 election, but to point out that we have a real problem that needs to be dealt with. Americans must have confidence in future elections,” he wrote.

Road Runner seeks Coyote, Matt Vespa at Town Hall announces Another 'Walls Are Closing on Trump' Story Has Collapsed

So, are we shocked that the Manhattan district attorney’s office has indefinitely suspended its investigation into Donald Trump and is no longer pursuing legal charges? Nope. Those of us who aren’t Trump deranged knew this was going to be the outcome. Give it time, Trump will always come out on top (via Fox News):

Are you ready for another one? At WaPoo,  Judge: Trump ‘more likely than not’ committed crime in trying to block Biden win , "The ruling could boost pressure on the Justice Department to investigate the former president’s effort to overturn the 2020 election. Hawaiian Californian judge. At Althouse, "If Dr. Eastman and President Trump’s plan had worked, it would have permanently ended the peaceful transition of power, undermining American democracy and the Constitution." "Wrote Judge David Carter, quoted in "Trump probably broke the law in an effort to obstruct Jan. 6 proceedings, judge says/'The illegality of the plan was obvious,' Judge David Carter wrote in a ruling shooting down lawyer John Eastman's bid to keep Jan. 6 documents private" (NBC News)." Is his prose a little purple, or what? It starts with the assumption that Trump knew their was no fraud, and proceeds to reason with that. WaPoo also tries to imagine itself Inside Ted Cruz’s last-ditch battle to keep Trump in power
"The Texas senator’s effort alienated some allies and sparked questions about ties to John Eastman, a longtime friend and author of key legal memos in Trump’s efforts."

At PM, Penn State comms professor calls for assassination of Trump: 'Should've been Lincoln'd'
Andy Ngô@MrAndyNgo "@penn_state associate communications professor Zack Furness tweeted today that former President Trump should have been assassinated by gunfire. His academic work is influenced by Marxism & critical pedagogy. He previously made a list of people he wanted dead." From the list, Trump is in good company.

Maybe later I'll get to another section, like J6 or Hunter.

  1. Here's a headline: "Assoc. Prof. Zack Furness volunteers his own name to be placed on the To Be Lincoln'd List when things get spicy."
