Revenge is a Dish Best Served Cold
Outkick, Shakira Gets Revenge By Putting Her Logo On Ex's Barcelona Uniform
As everyone knows Colombian popstar Shakira’s hips don’t lie (though they do get investigated for tax evasion). Now, her logo will grace the jerseys FC Barcelona’s jerseys.
This has come about thanks to Barcelona’s usual jersey sponsor, Spotify. The idea of throwing Shakira’s logo on there is intended to promote her upcoming album.
As you were no doubt aware, she has an upcoming album.
What makes the Shakira sponsorship so interesting is that her ex-husband, Gerard Piqué, plays for Barcelona.Shakira — seen here telling the truth via her hips during the Super Bowl LIV Halftime Show — is about to get some revenge on her ex-husband by putting her logo on his soccer team’s jerseys.
The former Mr. and Mrs. Shakira went there separate ways back earlier this year, reportedly due to Piqué’s alleged infidelity.
That’s a tough break for him, but an absolute win for Shakira.
Can you imagine having to go to work, and when you show up, your boss is like “Hey, put on this shirt.”
So you do, but when you look down it has your ex’s name and logo scrawled across the front.
“I can’t wear this.” you’d say.
“Can and will,” you boss would say, before reminding you that you get paid €28.4 million to play defense in a sport where a lot of games end 0-0.
Definitely a first world problem.

Fish Pic Friday - Erika Almond
A few days ago this came through my Facebook feed:
Erika Almond has spent thousands of hours fishing the waters of Tampa Bay and the Gulf of Mexico in her 34-foot SeaVee named "Offshore Therapy." She's caught all sorts of near record-sized fish and even swam with a whale shark -- but her most recent expedition might have topped them

To Be Sure, the Difference Seems a Slim Sometimes
By way of Drudge, AP helps us to Pornhub stars walk runway at Namilia's fashion showFashion label Namilia deconstructed Asian stereotypes in the porn industry, empowering the demure, submissive woman with bold dominatrix looks worn exclusively by Asian models at Sunday’s show, including several Pornhub actors.
The Herotica collection shown during New York Fashion Week flipped on its head the traditional, buttoned-up Chinese dress. The gown kept the same silhouette but was done in dominatrix leather with a hand-embroidered electric blue dragon snaking across the front.

Another look featured the same traditional dress on one side of the model, but the other side was stripped down to black leather dominatrix garb.
A short, colorful look folded elaborately around the collar into a Chinese takeout box, complete with long, dripping. crystal ramen noodles and pieces of shrimp with words about male genitalia.
Namilia’s message is clear. Women like sex as much as men but are often shamed for it. Porn is typically seen as a man’s thing, “but women are also interested in porn and sex, but we were just excluded in the past,” said one of the designers, Emilia Pfohl.
The brand reached out to porn stars to help them reframe that narrative.

“I don’t think motherhood and sexuality are mutually exclusive at all,” said Pornhub brand ambassador Asa Akira, a 35-year-old college graduate whose been in the business for a dozen years and gave birth to a son last year.
She walked the show wearing a sexy, black kimono-style bodysuit. When she unfurled her arms, fabric hung dramatically to the floor with a reference to wrecking male genitalia.

On Sunday, several looks turned models into Transformers, with oversize, clawlike arms inscribed with sexually empowering words. A sculptural neon-green and black look included a riff on the Louis Vuitton pattern, but with dollar signs and male genitalia and large, insect-style wings coming out the back. The designers said it was their take on the Victoria’s Secret angel wings, in a way that less objectified women.
The schoolgirl uniform was also turned on its head, with a pink and white monogram on a pleated leather skirt.

“When is something part of fashion, what’s high culture, what’s low culture, what’s profane, what’s not? And we wanted to take porn into a new context to kind of normalize sex work, prostitution, pornography and put it in a fashion show context, so there’s not as much shame and taboo,” Li said during a backstage interview.
Their designs are heavily inspired by pop culture, “looking from the outside at American culture” to create “a revolutionary new feminist youth culture,” said Li, who freelanced for Kanye West’s brand Yeezy in the past.

Several streetwear looks included edgy motorcycle race suits in feminine pinks, and sweatshirts with the Pornhub and Herotica label. The brands were also printed on a stylish black velour tracksuit.
“My scariest thing before I became a porn star was that people judge me and also fear of what my mom would think,” said Marica Hase, a 38-year-old from Japan who also walked in the show. “I love porn. I’m a little bit of a naughty girl.”

Disney Star Plays Peek - a - Boo
Actress and singer Dove Cameron has come under fire on social media after sharing two photos in which she wasn't wearing a bra.
Yes, really. So much for free the nipple, huh?
The 23-year-old Descendants star was shamed by Instagram users who thought the pictures might be inappropriate for some of her younger followers.
However they seemed to miss the poignant point Cameron was making with her posts, which were captioned with feminist quotes about introducing feminism to a younger generation.
Never heard of her before, but then, I'm not in Descendant's target demographic.Unfortunately, many people couldn't get beyond the fact that Cameron, who regularly appears on the Disney Channel, wasn't wearing a bra.Yeah, that's remarkably mild by current standards of Disney girls.
One person commented: "Not to be rude but there are kids that follow you and you have you nips out."
Another said: "Honey, What are you posting? You're a professional actress working with Disney, not a pinup girl."
A third wrote: "You forgot to wear a bra sooo embarrassing."

A Good Question
In which AllahPundit takes a moment out of his incessant Trump bashing to agree, Trump: Why Do People Want To Ban Plastic Straws When We Don’t Ban Plastic Plates And Wrappers? You don’t hear this from me often, but: He says what I’m thinking.
In fact, watching this, I had a vision of this subject being raised at next year’s presidential debates and Elizabeth Warren or whoever responding with some six-part answer about the Green New Deal and how “we all need to do our part.” And then Trump responds with this bit, which is a hair’s-breadth from being a one-liner, and wins it going away. I can only assume that he missed the story a few days ago of a woman being killed when she tripped and fell onto a metal straw or else he surely would have incorporated it here: “You ban plastic straws and the next thing you know you’ll have thousands of people impaling themselves. Not good.”
You have to break some eggs to have a nice omelette.Next time he gets a question about this, he should note that the “environmentally conscious” solution of swapping out plastic straws for reusable metal ones might not be so environmentally conscious:
Let’s look at just one example: Some restaurants and bars have replaced their plastic straws with reusable metal variants. But there’s a hitch, as the New York Post recently reported: customers keep taking the metal straws home with them.
![]() |
| Brooke and beau with lethal metal straws! |
This leaves restaurants holding the short straw, so to speak. Metal straws are expensive — perhaps a dollar apiece (or more) versus a penny or two for the plastic version — and so replacement costs add up quickly.
This might not be so problematic if the metal straws that customers walk off with get reused frequently. But most probably go on display as novelties or sit forgotten in a utensil drawer. And this means the metal straws — which presumably required mining, plus large amounts of energy to convert into sheet metal and then fashion it into a cylindrical tube — don’t provide the intended environmental benefit.
Plastic straw bans are essentially environmental virtue signaling. The green impact is negligible, especially if the bans are done piecemeal instead of nationally. The most one might say of them is that they’re a small way to insinuate environmental consciousness into the average’s person daily routine. The least one might say is that they’re green slacktivism.Green slacktivism. I like that.
Why was Trump even being asked about straws? you’re probably wondering now. Ah — it’s because last night his own campaign website began selling Trump-branded plastic straws, a bargain at just 15 bucks for, uh, 10 straws. MAGA Nation doesn’t use cuck paper straws (described as “liberal” on the campaign website, no joke). They proudly use plastic — recyclable plastic in this case — and spit in the eye of soy boys who complain about it. The straws have naturally sold out already, proving that there’s no culture war dispute so petty, particularly when it involves a type of political correctness, that can’t be monetized.
I think cities should make laws that they need to be recycled into clothes.
Hot Air followup, Plastic “Trump Straws” Sell Out Almost Immediately, of course.

Reasons #6381 - #6383 that Trump was Elected
So tired of all the winning. From the very first day Donald Trump could call himself "president," we've heard leftists and establishment conservatives say that his aggressive diplomatic style -- of negotiating with other governments -- won't produce anything useful. Trump was just angering them, and by doing so, he would actually end up undermining America's national interests.
Well, I think we can put that criticism of the president to rest:
BREAKING- Mexico has deployed almost 15,000 troops to the US-Mexico border to curve migration flow. Javier Morales, an illegal alien, allegedly raped a woman in January, pinning her to a wall and sexually assaulting her, according to local police. Before being prosecuted for the rape, the illegal alien was deported back to his native country.
Local officials placed warrants on Morales in the event that he returned to Knoxville. This week, Morales was arrested and charged for the rape after he arrived back in Knoxville after being deported, according to WVLT.
Currently, the illegal alien is being held at the Knoxville County Jail.
The rape case is the latest incident in Tennessee in which American citizens have been reportedly victimized by illegal aliens. 22-year-old Piece Corcoran was killed last year in a crash caused by an illegal alien who has yet to be prosecuted for his death.
Similarly, in April, Debbie Burgess was allegedly killed in Knoxville by an illegal alien driver. Single adults racing across one part of the U.S.-Mexico border are dressing as drug smugglers to make it less likely they'll be caught.Any illegal alien arrested wearing camo should be assumed to be an enemy combatant.
Approximately 90% of unauthorized immigrant adults arrested by federal agents based in Tucson, Ariz., are dressed in head-to-toe camouflage and wear carpet booties that are also covered in a camouflage pattern.
Historically, individuals who were arrested near the border and dressed in camouflage and carpet booties were drug smugglers. Agents refer to these types of drug smugglers as “mules” because they carried 40- to 50-pound backpacks of marijuana and ArmaLite Rifles through the desert.
. . .
Since the start of the fiscal year in October, more than 31,000 single adults have been apprehended in the Tuscon area after illegally crossing.
"Of that 31,000, I would estimate more than 90% to be in camo," Pete Bidegain III, a regional spokesman for the Border Patrol, wrote in an email to the Washington Examiner.
Before crossing from Mexico’s northern state of Sonora, smugglers make each person who has paid thousands to get into the U.S. put on a sweatpants-type material camouflage outfit over the clothes they are already wearing.
“The smugglers on the south side of the border in our sector essentially require it,” Bidegain said during a phone call.
The camouflage outfits allow people to blend in with the desert landscape while the carpet booties prevent them from leaving behind tracks that would otherwise lead agents right to them. Only single adults, not families and children, are being apprehended in the camo outfits. Bidegain explained that families do not need to blend in with the terrain because they are seeking out law enforcement to claim asylum and not trying to avoid U.S. officials.

No! Not Yoga Pants!
Well, it's the Washington Post, so we can always hope it's fake news: So long, yoga pants.
American women are buying more jeans — skinny jeans, “mom jeans” and especially discounted jeans — as retailers stock new cuts, colors and styles.
In all, shoppers bought 364 million pairs of women’s jeans last year, a 5 percent increase from the year before, according to newly released data from market research firm NPD Group, which analyzed jeans sales between February 2018 and February 2019.

Actually, some jeans aren't so bad. . .
“Consumers are finally starting to show interest in jeans again,” said Marshal Cohen, an adviser for NPD. “The fact that we’re seeing more relaxed fits, more comfortable styles, is what’s getting people to say, ‘Okay, I have a reason to buy jeans again.’"
After four straight years of decline, the U.S. denim market grew 2.2 percent to $16.7 billion last year, according to Euromonitor.

Today’s shoppers, he said, are looking for utilitarian and practical styles, like high-rise, straight-leg “mom jeans,” in place of tightly fitting, low-rise cuts that have dominated the market for so long. Jeans are becoming more comfortable, too, as companies use elastic and materials with stretch to win over legging-loving shoppers.
“There’s a lot more variety than there used to be,” said Sucharita Kodali, a retail analyst for Forrester. “Today’s denim is more comfortable and versatile than what we’ve traditionally seen."
When they do buy jeans, shoppers are increasingly looking for a deal on denim. More than half of the jeans bought last year had been marked down, according to NPD. Sales of jeans at off-price retailers like Nordstrom Rack and TJ Maxx rose 30 percent last year, accounting for much of the growth in the market.
“It’s that mid-level market that’s winning over the consumer,” Cohen said. “We’re not seeing $300-plus denim selling the way it used to.”
We “are really excited about the strong consumer response thus far,” Chip Bergh, Levi Strauss’s chief executive, said in an earnings call last week.I've used this one before, but it's perfect for the post. Too bad the world was in such low-def in the 80s:
“The denim consumer has changed,” Cohen said. “We are starting to cycle back into jeans."

Well, It Never Bothered the Grateful Dead Much Either
Fans wondered if Bobby would ever learn the words to Truckin'. But we know their excuse. Billie Eilish Forgot Her Own Lyrics at Coachella and Was Completely UnfazedCoachella has already had some weird flubs this year, including Kacey Musgrave's audience not getting how call and response works. But that one was crowd-related. Today's best slip up so far comes from Billie Eilish, the first person born after the year 2000 to hold number one on the Billboard 100 and the absolute master of deadpan, disaffected coolness.
During her performance of the song "all good girls go to hell," Eilish lost track of where she was in the song and exactly what lyrics came next. A more self-conscious singer might fake her way through it, maybe vamp or try to work the crowd until she knew where she was supposed to be, words-wise. Instead, Eilish audibly mumbles, doing the kind of vowel-matching you do when you know the gust of a song but not exactly the words. Rather than play it off, she looks over her shoulder and loudly asks, "What the fuck are the words though?"
It begs the question: Does it count as a screw up if it's 100 percent on brand?

Following the EP's commercial success, Apple Music named Eilish as its newest Up Next artist in September 2017. Garbage In, Garbage Out
Even NPR questions, Are Plastic Bag Bans Garbage?
University of Sydney economist Rebecca Taylor started studying bag regulations because it seemed as though every time she moved for a new job — from Washington, D.C., to California to Australia — bag restrictions were implemented shortly after. "Yeah, these policies might be following me," she jokes. Taylor recently published a study of bag regulations in California. It's a classic tale of unintended consequences.
Before California banned plastic shopping bags statewide in late 2016, a wave of 139 California cities and counties implemented the policy themselves. Taylor and colleagues compared bag use in cities with bans with those without them. For six months, they spent weekends in grocery stores tallying the types of bags people carried out (she admits these weren't her wildest weekends). She also analyzed these stores' sales data.
Ah yes, the life of a grad student. "Bright college days, oh carefree days that fly. To thee we sing, with our glasses raised on high (hic!)"Taylor found these bag bans did what they were supposed to: People in the cities with the bans used fewer plastic bags, which led to about 40 million fewer pounds of plastic trash per year. But people who used to reuse their shopping bags for other purposes, like picking up dog poop or lining trash bins, still needed bags. "What I found was that sales of garbage bags actually skyrocketed after plastic grocery bags were banned," she says. This was particularly the case for small, 4-gallon bags, which saw a 120 percent increase in sales after bans went into effect.
Trash bags are thick and use more plastic than typical shopping bags. "So about 30 percent of the plastic that was eliminated by the ban comes back in the form of thicker garbage bags," Taylor says. On top of that, cities that banned plastic bags saw a surge in the use of paper bags, which she estimates resulted in about 80 million pounds of extra paper trash per year.
Plastic haters, it's time to brace yourselves. A bunch of studies find that paper bags are actually worse for the environment. They require cutting down and processing trees, which involves lots of water, toxic chemicals, fuel and heavy machinery. While paper is biodegradable and avoids some of the problems of plastic, Taylor says, the huge increase of paper, together with the uptick in plastic trash bags, means banning plastic shopping bags increases greenhouse gas emissions. That said, these bans do reduce nonbiodegradable litter.

What about reusable cloth bags? We know die-hard public radio fans love them! They've got to be great, right? Nope. They can be even worse.
A 2011 study by the U.K. government found a person would have to reuse a cotton tote bag 131 times before it was better for climate change than using a plastic grocery bag once. The Danish government recently did a study that took into account environmental impacts beyond simply greenhouse gas emissions, including water use, damage to ecosystems and air pollution. These factors make cloth bags even worse. They estimate you would have to use an organic cotton bag 20,000 times more than a plastic grocery bag to make using it better for the environment.
That said, the Danish government's estimate doesn't take into account the effects of bags littering land and sea, where plastic is clearly the worst offender.

The most environment-friendly way to carry groceries is to use the same bag over and over again. According to the Danish study, the best reusable ones are made from polyester or plastics like polypropylene. Those still have to be used dozens and dozens of times to be greener than plastic grocery bags, which have the smallest carbon footprint for a single use.
As for bag policies, Taylor says a fee is smarter than a ban. She has a second paper showing a small fee for bags is just as effective as a ban when it comes to encouraging use of reusable bags. But a fee offers flexibility for people who reuse plastic bags for garbage disposal or dog walking.
Taylor believes the recent legislation passed in New York is a bad version of the policy. It bans only plastic bags and gives free rein to using paper ones (counties have the option to impose a 5-cent fee on them). Taylor is concerned this will drive up paper use. The best policy, Taylor says, imposes a fee on both paper and plastic bags and encourages reuse.

| What could be more appropriate on Palm Sunday? |
Plastic pollution is not a joke. Even with the notion that the majority these days comes from China and India, each of us can do our part. It doesn’t have to be about ‘climate change’, or even extreme enviroweenieism. Seriously, do you like driving around, going for a walk, riding a bike, going to beach or the mountains or the park and seeing garbage, much of which is plastic? But, should Government be dictating choice?

Oregon Senate passes bill limiting plastic straws
Oregon’s Senate passed a law Thursday to limit the use of plastic straws.
SB 90, approved by a 23-6 vote, would prohibit single-use plastic straws at restaurants unless a customer asks for one. Drive-thrus would still be able to hand out plastic straws.
In a press release, Oregon Democrats highlighted the environmental risks of plastic straws.
“We use a straw for less than an hour, but it continues to exist in nature for longer than our lifetime,” said state Sen. Michael Dembrow (D), who introduced the bill on the Senate floor.

“We can use a straw, throw it away and forget about it as an inconsequential part of our lives. But that straw can easily end up in the ocean or somewhere else in nature. There, a single straw can have significant and sometimes deadly impacts on animals. The viral video of a turtle having a straw painfully removed from its nostril provides clear evidence that our seemingly inconsequential acts have significant consequences for other creatures.”

| Brooke gave up fishing, but not palms and straws |
I’m not going to disagree with Dembrow’s assessment. This doesn’t have to be a political issue in terms of reducing plastic pollution. But, again, should government be passing laws like this? For one thing, there really is no enforcement mechanism. Does anyone think a cop will go in to get a burger and give a ticket when they are given a straw? Heck, most places do not hand you a straw, they have a big container with them. Something like this would be better as a resolution which asks places with straws to limit their use and replace them mostly with recyclables, paper straws, and recycle containers for plastic straws, many of which are stirrers for coffee. And from Watt's Up With That: Climate Friendly Plastic Recycling is a Total Con
Because, really, Oregon has a few more important issues, such as the quick rising homeless problem, used syringes all over the streets in cities like Portland, and rising crime.
60 Minutes: Australia’s recycling industry now ‘mostly a con’ after China closes doors to plastic waste
By Sammi Taylor • 60 Minutes Digital Producer Apr 14, 2019
Most Australians think they’re doing the right thing when they take their recycling bins to the curb every fortnight.
But our belief that we’re doing our part for the environment is somewhat misguided: Australia’s plastic recycling industry is largely a con.

“When you throw this stuff in your recycle bin at home you might like to think again,” Bartlett says. It's true in the United States too.
Australia alone has dumped more than 71,000 tonnes of plastic in Malaysia in the past 12 months.
But there, the mountains of plastic waste can often end up in illegal processing facilities and junkyards.
It’s a big problem – and many players within the recycling industry are calling it for what it is: a load of rubbish.

Why You Don't Ask a Feminist for Sex Advice
From Stacy McCain: Bad Sex AdviceCarina Hsieh is a “Sex & Relationships Editor” at Cosmopolitan who has a rather interesting confession. She’s bad at sex:Sex is something so easy and natural that even cavemen (and presumably cavewomen) could do it. We know that because they left us behind. But add feminism, and what do you get?
“I don’t even know where to begin, but I really have zero confidence about anything I do when it comes to sex.
“You name it, it’s an insecurity point for me. Kissing: I hate tongues. Foreplay: don’t look at me. Blowjobs: I think my mouth is too dry. Actual sex: hate my body too much to get on top. Orgasming: doesn’t happen. . . .
“Every time I don’t orgasm, not only do I feel like I have to soothe my partner’s ego, I also feel like I need to quash my own expectations because, duh, I’m the one who didn’t come. . .
“I feel like a huge failure because feigning a loud moan a few times is easier than explaining that all the antidepressants I’m on make it impossible for me to climax. . . . I can sometimes orgasm through oral sex, but it is so rare that when it happens, I find myself questioning if it ever really happened in the first place. Suffice to say, all the sex I’ve ever had is performative and reverse-engineered to fulfill some horny fantasy of mine that I’m not even sure I’m turned on by.”

Did she learn everything she knows about sex from Sex in the City? She seems to care an inordinate amount about what Carrie Bradshaw wore.
Shouldn’t someone who is getting paid to publish “Sex & Relationship” advice in a leading women’s magazine at least, y’know, be good at it?
Also, did you note Ms. Hsieh’s reference to “antidepressants”? On her Twitter account, she mentions that she has been hospitalized for her psychiatric problems and, also, she is infected with herpes . . .

So she's crazy, and has a venereal disease? Wow, what a catch! Well, At least she likes dogs, or at least her dog.

Gigi Goes the Extra Mile in Paris
Gigi Hadid Freed the Nipple at Lanvin’s Fall/Winter 2019 Show
All in all, I wasn't inspired by the clothes. I wonder how much that little flash (or two)was worth cost:
The Wombat has Rule 5 Monday: Komi-san Has A Communication Problem ready and waiting.
More Gigi (a former Rule 5 winner).
Much like Kendall Jenner, who’s so far only walked a single show this season, Gigi Hadid has been quite selective about her runway appearances at Fashion Week this time around. After walking in the Prada show at Milan Fashion Week, which saw her once again bleach her eyebrows, Hadid made her latest runway appearance on Wednesday morning, in Paris, at Lanvin’s fall/winter 2019 show, which may have been the house’s last shot.
To say that the past few years have been rocky for Lanvin might be an understatement. Since the house ousted its beloved creative director Alber Elbaz, it has gone through no fewer than four creative directors in under four years, beginning with the designer Bouchra Jarrar’s 16-month stint. The latest to step up to the plate is Bruno Sialelli, a 31-year-old, little-known designer who was only formally announced to have taken over the position last month, and who himself has acknowledged the “challenge” that lies ahead.
So far, the reviews have been mixed, but it’s hard to deny Sialelli’s wisdom in his choice of a showstopper. He didn’t just land a rare booking of Hadid; Sialelli also sent her out on the makeshift runway, constructed in Musée Cluny, France’s museum of the Middle Ages, wearing a pale pink peacoat, off-white trousers, sunglasses, and a shirt printed with the same motif of artful nude bodies that could be found on her trousers. The shirt, however, was sheer, meaning that it also happened to showcase Hadid’s own artful nude body.
This isn’t the first time that Hadid has freed the nipple on the runway—her nip slip at Versace’s show in 2016 even went viral—but it’s certainly the most notable occasion that she did so intentionally. Considering how much attention that last instance managed to get, Sialelli’s choice of ensemble for Hadid just might introduce the house to a whole new audience—and while they may be experts on everything Hadid, there’s a good chance that at least some are unfamiliar with Lanvin’s troubled past. You can see the show:
