Miley Cyrus may be in a heterosexual relationship with husband Liam Hemsworth, but she still identifies herself as a queer person — and sees their marriage as an opportunity to change how people view love, gender, and sexuality.
In a wide-ranging interview and a personal essay for Vanity Fair‘s March cover story, the music star got candid about why she and Hemsworth tied the knot in December, and how it hasn’t shifted her place in the LGBTQ+ community.
“The reason that people get married sometimes can be old-fashioned, but I think the reason we got married isn’t old-fashioned — I actually think it’s kind of New Age,” Cyrus, 26, said. “We’re redefining, to be f—ing frank, what it looks like for someone that’s a queer person like myself to be in a hetero relationship.”
“A big part of my pride and my identity is being a queer person . . . What I preach is: People fall in love with people, not gender, not looks, not whatever. What I’m in love with exists on almost a spiritual level. It has nothing to do with sexuality. Relationships and partnerships in a new generation — I don’t think they have so much to do with sexuality or gender. Sex is actually a small part, and gender is a very small, almost irrelevant part of relationships.” . . .
Cyrus took inspiration from her “favorite woman in the world, Hillary Clinton” and realized that she and Hemsworth were “stronger together.” . . .
Cyrus also penned a personal essay for Vanity Fair, talking more about her queerness there.
“Being someone who takes such pride in individuality and freedom, and being a proud member of the LGBTQ+ community, I’ve been inspired by redefining again what a relationship in this generation looks like,” she said. “Sexuality and gender identity are completely separate from partnership.”
The word for this is crazy. And if you recall how Johnny Depp was more or less destroyed by her marriage to Amber Heard, it is not difficult to predict what Miley Cyrus will likely do to Liam Hemsworth. In a society warped by feminist ideology, however, the common belief is that women are universally victims of male oppression, which means that as soon as the Cyrus-Hemsworth marriage collapses, it is his reputation that will be destroyed by accusations of abuse, etc. Meanwhile . . .
I don't know if Miley is really LGBTQRSTUVWXYZ or whether she's merely addicted to notoriety, and it's getting harder and harder to achieve. She might try supporting Trump; that ought to do it.
Miley Cyrus gave a dire warning to fans on Friday when she closed out a concert with an expletive-laden rant to fans about the importance of taking action against climate change.
iHeart Radio reports that as the singer finished her performance at the 2019 Tinderbox Festival in Odense, Denmark, she launched into a rant criticizing the U.S. for not doing enough to protect LGBT people. After dismissing how she “might offend some people by calling my country sh*tty,” she began calling for her audience to get politically active.
But what if they don't approve of your politics?
“The youth, this generation, we are the last f*cking hope on this dying f*cking planet,” Cyrus proclaimed. “I don’t like there’s more f*cking trash in the water than living f*cking animals that deserve to be there, that have nowhere else to go.”
Cyrus concluded with “and by the f*cking way, we don’t have anywhere to f*cking go, either! There’s no planet B, so don’t f*ck it up!”
I wasn't able to find any information on her recent tour or her upcoming one, but her Wonder World Tour in 2009 required
124 traveling workers, 19 truckloads of equipment, and 15 buses. The stage was quite different from that of the Best of Both Worlds Tour. It consisted of a rectangular main stage, which featured staircases that elevated the center of the stage, and a narrow runway, which connected the main stage to a B-stage that ran the length of the main stage
Regarding the stage, Cyrus noted that it was "something not many people get to have. I'm able to move around to each side so there's no one person who feels like they don't have the best seat. Every seat is the best seat." Six LED multi-screen video units were located throughout the stage; the three largest were placed as the upstage wall, while the other three were hung by rigs above the stage. The center unit consisted of three screens that faced outward; two others were hung right and left to the center unit, both were double faced toward the center of the venue at a 45° angle, while the backside faced the upper-seat audience. The structure of the video panels was designed by Sims to ensure that all seats within the 270° angle at each venue received an equal view of the video screens.
No carbon footprint there!
Now, I don't really mind her employing a slew of wanna be musician, as well as truck drivers, fossil fuel producers, and electrical workers, but I'll be damned if I'm going to let her make me feel guilty about my carbon footprint.
Pop star turned Planned Parenthood activist Miley Cyrus will not consider having a child due to global warming-related anxiety, vowing not to reproduce until she is confident her offspring can “live on an earth with fish in the water.” (Fact check: fish currently exist in bodies of water all over the planet).
The “Mother’s Daughter” singer spoke at length to Elle and hit two of her go-to political topics: Feminism and climate change.
Cyrus tied the two topics together, assigning the female gender to the planet and warning against mankind’s destruction of it.
“When she’s angry, don’t fuck with her,” Cyrus said. “That’s the way that I feel women are like right now. The earth is angry.”
The pop activist also revealed that she will not have kids until she feels like her child “would live on an earth with fish in the water.”
“We’ve been doing the same thing to the earth that we do to women,” she said, making another comparison to feminism.
Being female has been berry, berry good to Miley.
“We just take and take and expect it to keep producing. And it’s exhausted. It can’t produce. We’re getting handed a piece-of-shit planet, and I refuse to hand that down to my child,” the Grammy-winner continued. “Until I feel like my kid would live on an earth with fish in the water, I’m not bringing in another person to deal with that. ”
Millennials as a whole, Cyrus claimed, feel the same way.
“We don’t want to reproduce because we know that the earth can’t handle it,” she said.
When you consider the carbon foot print of her tours and shows, it's probably a good thing she won't reproduce. Until she reduces that to zero, and not by buying some of Al Gore's imaginary carbon offsets, I don't want to hear from her.
If it was that bad, you'd think she'd be afraid of the ocean, right?
First comes kissing, then comes spanking? Katy Perry diplomatically and cheekily responded to Miley Cyrus' big diss on Thursday, Mar. 6, shortly after the Bangerz singer made some questionable remarks about her pal's dating history.
"Oooo gurrrl I'm gonna give you the BIGGEST spanking when I see you in the UK bb!" Perry responded directly to Cyrus, along with emojis of a tongue and British flag.
The "Roar" singer's funny post was in response to several tweets shared by Cyrus Thursday afternoon, slamming Perry's appearance on Australian talk show Sunrise earlier that week: "I just walked up to her to give her like a friendly girly kiss, you know, as girls do," Perry said Tuesday, Mar. 4.
"And then she like tried to move her head and go deeper and I pulled away," the singer revealed on how the kiss went down. "God knows where that tongue has been. We don't know! That tongue is so infamous!"
Cyrus, on her end, addressed Perry's joking comments on Thursday and wrote, "Girl if ur worried abt where tongues have been good thing ur ex boo is ur EX BOO cause we ALL know where THAT been." (The former Disney star did not specify which of Perry's famous exes was the topic of her tweet.)
"If 1994 was the Year of O.J.'s White Bronco, 2013 was the Year of the Very Visible Vagina," the 37-year-old actress wrote, criticizing "the Miley Cyrus cross-continental twerk-athon and Nick Minaj's Halloween pasties. With the addition of Rihanna writhing on a pole in her 'Pour it Up' video and Lady Gaga's butt-crack cover art or the song that goes 'Do what you want with my body,' I was just done. I'd had enough."
I don't know about 2013 being the year of the very visible vagina, maybe just camel toe, but if she is any indication it was the year of the very visible boobs, and I strongly approve.
"Let me say up front: I am not a prude. I love sex; I am comfortable with my sexuality," Jones continued, but protested that "every star interprets 'sexy' the same way: lots of skin, lots of licking of teeth, lots of bending over. I find this oddly…boring. Can't I just like a song without having to take an ultrasound of some pop star's privates?"
Before this post, I had no idea who Rashida Jones was, so at least this was an educational event.
What sparked Jones' explanation was a Twitter exchange, in which she advised celebrities to "#stopactinglikewhores" and was slammed for "slut-shaming" pop stars.
I'm almost speechless... But I like stuffing, too.
Now, the serious commentary: These are not the disease, these are merely symptoms of the disease, and the pattern is not coincidental.
Why has Amanda Bynes gone crazy? Why is Sydney Leathers being treated like a celebrity? Why can’t Anthony Weiner remember how many women he “sexted”? Why is Miley Cyrus naked? Why does Bob Filner think “therapy,” and not resignation, is the answer?
Don’t tell me we don’t know the answer to why President Ho Chi Minh is in the White House and Amanda Bynes is in the nuthouse. This kind of escalating madness doesn’t “just happen,” does it?
Although I kept my perfect record of never having seen the Video Music Awards intact, I was curious enough to try to watch a YouTube of her performance. I made it about half way through, not because it grossed me out (that takes a lot), but because it was so stupid and juvenile it wasn't even vaguely sexy.

It's a white industry. Just as the NBA is a black industry. I'm not even saying it's a bad thing. It just is. And the black people they do hire tend to be the same person. That person tends to be female and that person tends to be Ivy League. And there's nothing wrong with that. As a matter of fact, that's what I want for my daughters. But something tells me that the life my privileged daughters are leading right now might not make them the best candidates to run the black division of anything. And the person who runs the black division of a studio should probably have worked with black people at some point in their life.
Back in the good old days when President Obama didn’t have so many dings on his record, he promised that by 2015 there’d be more than 1 million electric cars on the road. Well, with just days to go, he’s only about 826,000 or so cars short of that goal. Instead of 200,000 Nissan Leafs on the road today — as Obama’s Department of Energy predicted in 2011 — there are less than 70,000.
And while Obama forecast 375,000 Chevy Volt sales by 2014, just a bit more than 71,000 have made it off the showroom floor. Fisker, which was supposed to be selling 85,000 electric cars a year by now, went bankrupt last year.
Add it up, and there are a grand total of less than 180,000 plug-ins on U.S. roads today. Worldwide, there are only 400,000.
I don't see what people find so entrancing about coal-burning by proxy cars (at least in most of the United States). But with most liberal goals, it's all about the good intentions, and not so much about the reality.

An 18-year-old Florida girl accused of helping lure a 16-year-old boy into a fatal trap says she's a vampire who has drunk the blood of her boyfriend.
Stephanie Pistey confirmed assertions by police in Parker, Fla., that the people involved in the July murder of 16-year-old Jacob Hendershot were in a vampire cult. Pistey, who was arrested last Monday and charged with accessory to murder, said she sees herself as a modern day Dracula.
"Since I was like 12 every fiber in my body, basically everything, I know this is going to be crazy, but I believe that I'm a vampire and part werewolf," Pistey told WBBH-TV.
Vampires always look much better in art and movies than in real life:
Pistey's Facebook profile lists "blood" and "unworldly things" among her interests, as well as a fondness for less under-worldly culture, including Hannah Montana, Miley Cyrus, and Sponge Bob Square Pants.
Police believe Pistey cleaned the crime scene and taunted the victim's mother before her son's body was found, The Panama City News Herald reports.
Sounds like a real sweetie. Maybe she can star in her own Lifetime movie.
Pistey is not the first self-described vampire-werewolf to run up against the law. Other supposed demons have included a Texas man who bit a woman and told cops that he "needed to feed," an Ohio "werewolf" arrested for underage drinking, and, of course, a boozed-up suspect who earned the nickname of "Count Drunkula."

In a radio interview with Australia's Brig & Lehmo on Gold 104.3, the '80s superstar slammed the former Hannah Montana actress for her racy performance at Sunday night's MTV Video Music Awards.
"That was girl gone wild. So sad, so sad," Lauper told the radio hosts when asked about Cyrus' bumping and grinding as the latter joined forces with Robin Thicke for a medley of their hits "We Can't Stop" and "Blurred Lines."
No Longer Just Wants to Have Fun
The 60-year-old Grammy winner, who recently earned a Tony for scoring the Broadway musical Kinky Boots, said she was disturbed by the musical pairing of the songs, saying it sent the wrong message to Miley's mostly adoring teen fans.
"She's in a song that literally says that the blurred lines allowed you to—when a woman says no, she means yes—and that's frightful because that's date rape," noted Lauper...
"And there she is, a young twentysomething trying to prove she can hang with the big boys and girls, you know, basically simulating a Girl Gone Wild video onstage. And I just felt like that was so beneath her and raunchy, really raunchy," added Lauper. "It wasn't even art."
She would have had more moral authority if she hadn't been an early advocate of the youth rebellion industry. The very least she could do was admit to changing her mind a little as she got older. Now she reminds us more of the mother in her iconic video...
He noted that countries with widespread mask compliance, such as Belgium and Spain, were still seeing rising virus rates.
“Face masks can be a complement to other things when other things are safely in place,” he said. “But to start with having face masks and then think you can crowd your buses or your shopping malls — that’s definitely a mistake.
“Even before we realized that COVID-19 was spreading, the data imply that there was at least one case of COVID-19 for every two cases of flu,” Meyers said. “Since we knew how widespread flu was at that time, we could reasonably determine the prevalence of COVID-19.”
I'm never fully convinced; there's been a lot of bad testing out there; too many false positives. I'm a skeptic. It's because I'm a scientist.
If you think the spin about New York’s alleged “success” in managing the pandemic is insufferable now, wait until it turns out that NYC has herd immunity because the virus was allowed to rip through the city unchecked in early March while Cuomo pulled his chin and wondered what to do.
Tablet, Hydroxychloroquine: A Morality Tale "A startling investigation into how a cheap, well-known drug became a political football in the midst of a pandemic"
What is unique about the hydroxychloroquine discussion is that it is a story of “unwishful thinking”—to coin a term for the perverse hope that some good outcome that most sane people would earnestly desire, will never come to pass. It’s about how, in the midst of a pandemic, thousands started earnestly hoping—before the science was really in—that a drug, one that might save lives at a comparatively low cost, would not actually do so. Reasonably good studies were depicted as sloppy work, fatally flawed. Many have excelled in making counterfeit bills that look real, but few have excelled at making real bills look counterfeit.

But unlike other travelers, the VMA musicians, singers and dancers won’t have to follow a state rule to quarantine for 14 days if they come to New York from any of 34 states, including California and Florida, with average COVID infection rates exceeding 10 percent.
We come to the central fallacy of the coronadoom response. It is the belief the infection would not have spread and would not have killed, like all other pandemics throughout all human history have, if only the government were “allowed” to act. Mysterious political forces kept it from acting, which cost lives. Nature had nothing, or little, to do with the bug. Nature didn’t cause its spread, and Nature had no real responsibility in any deaths, and it is said with adamantine certainty that Nature could not and is not making the bug disappear (i.e. herd immunity). In a democracy, particularly a Godless matriarchal one, everything is political.
We know this is a fallacy because of both history and the results of various government responses. What can be shown (below) is that government actions have caused extra deaths, the UK being the most prominent case, but also New York and other states which crammed sick people into nursing homes.
Wentworth appeared with Kimmel to promote her new book “Happily Ali After” and said she decided to flash the audience after she saw Miley Cyrus do the same in the previous segment. Stephanopoulos’ wife described how she and Cyrus “just bumped into each other” and they both exposed their breasts.
Wentworth then joked “I cannot wait until George Stephanopoulos sees this on “Pop News” tomorrow morning on GMA tomorrow morning” but claimed she had done “far worse” than exposing her breasts on national television.
Rather than discuss her husband’s recent conflict of interest regarding donations he made to the Clinton Foundation, Stephanopoulos’ ABC colleague spent the entire segment promoting Wentworth’s book.
Kimmel’s friendly interview with Wentworth comes on the heels of the more than six minutes Good Morning America devoted to shilling Mrs. Stephanopoulos’ book back in June. Prior to her GMA interview, Stephanopoulos canceled interviews promoting her book at the same time details about her husband’s Clinton Foundation donations came to light.
Well, now that Hillary has lost the election, and will never become president, Ali's boobs are a lot more interesting than anything George has to say.
Research from YouGov shows that Americans tend to be OK with having different standards for men and women when it comes to toplessness. 47% of Americans think it's fair that men can generally go topless places women cannot, but 35% think it is unfair. There is a significant age divide on this question, however, as younger Americans are much more likely to think it is an unfair double standard than older Americans. 49% of under-30s think that it is unfair to hold women to a different standard than men, but 63% of over-65s think it is fair.
The offensiveness of seeing topless women with bare breasts varies greatly based on context. While 73% of Americans would not be that offended by seeing a woman breastfeeding in public, 60% say that they would be offended 'a lot' or 'somewhat' by seeing a topless women walking on the sidewalk. 58% say the same about the front page of a newspaper, on TV before 6pm (56%) and while sunbathing in a park (50%). Most Americans would not be that offended, however, by seeing a topless woman on the cover of a fashion magazine (51%) or on TV after 11pm (60%).
Rep. Tammy Duckworth, a 47-year-old Illinois Democrat and a new mom, sponsored a bill this week requiring breastfeeding areas at airports. But public spending won't cure public squeamishness about exposed breasts, the root cause of the problem. Meanwhile, the Free the Nipple movement, which for years now been trying to cure this squeamishness, spews so many juvenile and fanciful theories that it has little appeal for mature women.
Giselle Bundchen nursing on the job
The Duckworth bill, dubbed the Friendly Airports for Mothers Act, would require all airports to create lactation rooms — separate from bathrooms — that are fitted with electrical outlets, sinks, and changing counters, and furnished with comfortable chairs for mothers to breastfeed or pump.
But the main problem with the bill is that it offers relief to a small subset of new mothers who frequently travel by air, but at the price of making things more difficult for everyone else. It basically signals to breastfeeding moms that they need to protect their modesty (which is why social conservatives like Rep. Steve Knight, a California Republican, probably are co-sponsoring it), rather than telling men that they need to respect these moms' privacy and avoid subjecting them to lurid glances, which would obviate some of the need for special lactating rooms.
Miley trying to convince you
The Free the Nipple movement (which has already become the subject of a 90-minute, yawn-inducing documentary) tries to cure such attitudes, but in such a ham-handed and shock-jocky way that few real women outside of college campuses can relate to it, other than publicity-hungry celebrities. Thanks to the movement, 100 students — men and women — at UC San Diego took off their shirts last month to fight for the equal right of both sexes to go topless. Likewise, Scout Willis, the daughter of Demi Moore and Bruce Willis, earned her two minutes of fame some years ago when she went strolling topless in Manhattan to protest Instagram's nudity policies barring pictures of topless women. Not to be outdone, Miley Cyrus, who has never encountered a publicity stunt involving her body parts that is too over-the-top, tweeted a picture of her bare breasts with red stars on the nipples to express her solidarity.
Naturists on one of Britain's most popular nudist beaches fear they are being spied on by a voyeur flying a drone.
A number of naked sunbathers were left angry when they were buzzed by a radio-controlled drone that flew up and down the famous Studland nudist beach in Dorset.
They feared a camera was attached to the device and that the operator, who could not be seen, had the bare cheek to take some shots of the bathers in a state of complete undress. Officials are looking into the matter and have stepped up patrols in case the drone operator returns.
A member of the Studland United Nudist group said: 'Several naturists heard and saw a drone fly over the naturist area including families who are concerned about this new invasion of their privacy and the possible subsequent use of any photographic material that may have been taken.
Studland? Cheeky? That's punny! Still, the idea of using drones to take pictures of nude sun bathers? Seriously, who couldn't have seen that coming?
An estimated 50-75 people took part in a staged protest today at a eucalyptus grove on the UC Berkeley campus, many of them stripping naked in doing so, to make clear their opposition to a proposed FEMA-funded tree-clearing program in the East Bay hills.
The event was orchestrated by the Tree Spirit Project whose mission is “to raise awareness of the critical role trees play in our lives, both globally and personally.” Jack Gescheidt, who founded the project, does this partly by taking fine-art photographs of people, often naked, communing with trees and nature.
The Federal Emergency Management Agency in March allocated $5.7 million to the California Office of Emergency Services to remove eucalyptus trees as part of fire hazard abatement in Claremont Canyon — scene of a devastating wildfire in 1991 — and other nearby areas, such as Tilden Park and Sibley Volcanic Regional Preserve. The funds will be distributed to UC Berkeley, the city of Oakland, and the East Bay Regional Parks District (EBRPD).
They would probably welcome the drones. Eucalyptus (specifically the Blue Gum) are an undesirable invasive species in California, where they were originally imported for lumber. They have taken over huge tracts of land, burn about like regular wood soaked in gasoline (which is approximately true). Still, they can be very scenic, and smell nice. Maybe we should have imported Koalas to keep them under control.
. . . in 1969, Howard Taylor, brother of actress Elizabeth Taylor, wanted to get back at the local government of Kauai, Hawaii.
He hadn't been able to secure building permits for his parcel of beachfront land on the island's north shore. Frustrated with the local government and unable to build a home on the land he owned, he bailed out 13 hippies who had been arrested for vagrancy and invited them to set up their tents and live on his property for free.
He then left his new tenants and his property to run wild, and over the next eight years, the small campsite turned into a thriving village known as Taylor Camp.
Young transplants -- surfers, hippies, families, fugitives and Vietnam war veterans -- poured in from the mainland to live at Taylor Camp, free from society's norms. They built multilevel tree houses on bamboo stilts and tended to gardens that grew vegetables and fruits. Marijuana was smoked freely, clothing was optional, and it wasn't uncommon for people to howl at the full moon.
The kids that call themselves hippies now just don't know what it was all about.
