Random Celebrity News

For some values of "random", "celebrity" and "news." First, From Da Caller, Mick Jagger Engaged To Much Younger Girlfriend. Good for him, he can afford it.

Legendary Rolling Stones frontman Mick Jagger, 81, is engaged to his girlfriend Melanie Hamrick, who is 44-years his junior.

Hamrick revealed she has been keeping her engagement a secret for quite some time during a French interview published Wednesday by Paris Match.

“Two or three years,” the 37-year-old told the outlet when asked how long she had been engaged. Hamrick, a former ballerina, and Jagger began dating in 2014 after meeting in Tokyo. Despite the news of their engagement, Hamrick cautioned that marriage may not be part of the couple’s future plans.

Lois Boisson
From Althouse, "I'm reading about a tennis player who smelled so bad that her opponent was heard complaining, and I'm wondering..."

"... if a sports player might in some cases, perhaps this one, deliberately acquire a bad smell to gain a competitive edge? Are there known cases? Do the rules cover this behavior? It could be a way of cheating. Beyond sports, what other areas of human competition offer opportunities to gain an advantage through smelling bad?"

 Harriet Dart

For the annals of Things I Asked Grok.

You can read Grok's answer here.

And here's the news story that prompted my question: "British tennis player Harriet Dart apologizes after asking opponent to wear deodorant during match/Dart told the umpire that her opponent, Lois Boisson, 'smells really bad'"

RVM reports Taylor Swift and Hugh Jackman Will ‘Definitely’ be Subpoenaed in Blake Lively, Justin Baldoni Legal Battle

The high-profile legal clash between Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni is drawing some of Hollywood’s biggest names into the fray, with Taylor Swift and Hugh Jackman reportedly next in line to become directly involved.

According to a source cited by the Daily Mail, both stars will “definitely be served this week” with subpoenas connected to the ongoing legal battle between Lively, her husband Ryan Reynolds, and Baldoni.

“It could happen at any time,” the insider claimed, suggesting that the subpoenas may be imminent.

At the Mix,  Katy Perry ‘Regrets’ Blue Origin Space Flight As She Continues To Face Massive Backlash

It’s been just over a week since the pop star Katy Perry went to space for eleven minutes as part of Jeff Bezos’ all-female Blue Origin crew. Unfortunately for her, however, Perry has since been met with serious backlash for taking part in this space journey, which many felt was both “tone deaf” and “embarrassing.”

Now, insiders are speaking out to reveal the regrets that Perry has about taking part in this Blue Origin flight. Indeed, it appears that the backlash has finally gotten to the “Firework” singer.

“Katy doesn’t regret going to space. It was life changing. What she does regret is making a public spectacle out of it,” a source close to Perry told Daily Mail.

Also from RVM, Former Runaway Rocker Goes Full MAGA, Tears Into Democrats

Cherie Currie, the former frontwoman of the groundbreaking 1970s rock band The Runaways, has made headlines again—this time for her unapologetic embrace of conservative politics and support for President Donald Trump’s MAGA movement, as reported by The Gateway Pundit.

Currie, who rose to fame alongside bandmates like Joan Jett, is now using her platform to speak out against the Democratic Party.

Her shift away from the political left has been documented on her official X account, where she has posted several strongly worded messages denouncing Democrats and aligning herself with conservative causes.

“F**k the Democratic Party! You clowns. Liars! Users. Destroyers! Mental case, Cowards! We’ve HAD IT with you!” Currie posted on April 24, 2025.

Hollywood in Toto has Nikki Glaser’s Anti-Trump Tirade, Explained, "Rising comic star fears she'll be put on a 'list' for mocking conservatives."

Glaser’s turn as the 2025 Golden Globes host got near-universal raves. Her 2024 routine at “The Roast of Tom Brady” brought the house down. She’s beautiful, talented and fiercely funny. In short, she’s earned her “moment” (along with a gig hosting the 2026 Globes gala).

She’s also an extremely hard worker, putting in endless hours prior to her Golden Globes showcase alone. Why? She wanted to perform at the top of her capabilities. That work ethic matters in Hollywood and elsewhere.

She’s also less political than her peers. Her brand isn’t about Left or Right but honesty, self-deprecation and lots of over sharing. Yet she unleashed on President Donald Trump during a Time Magazine-sponsored event that made her sound to the Left of John Oliver.

Yes, she played the “Dictator” card against Trump.
“I was just on stage in Canada where you can make jokes about someone [President Donald Trump] and they are on board … in Canada it was fun. I let it fly. It was really good.”
Perhaps she wasn’t aware of the free speech limitations in the country. Next, she suggested comedians can no long mock the Commander in Chief in the age of Trump.

Joe Cunningham at RedState, Another Federal Court Blocks Trump's Immigration Agenda in Nationwide Ruling—Without Calling It That "The judge, in an emergency ruling issued April 14, ruled that DHS "likely" acted unlawfully by issuing blanket revocations of lawful parole, rather than reviewing cases individually—as required by statute. DHS had argued it needed to terminate the parole in bulk to facilitate faster removals, but the court rejected that reasoning, saying nothing in the immigration statute permits cutting off parole early without case-by-case review. . . . As a result, the judge: Blocked DHS from enforcing the March 25 termination policy, Prohibited any attempt to revoke CHNV work permits tied to that parole, Barred the government from proceeding with removals based solely on that policy. . . . Interestingly, the court went out of its way to avoid the political landmine of issuing what it called a “nationwide injunction.” Instead, the judge certified a national class—everyone still in the U.S. under CHNV parole—and applied the ruling to that group. It seems a clever bit of legal footwork. Technically, this is a class-action injunction, not a nationwide one. But the practical result is the same: the government is now barred from applying this policy anywhere in the country, to anyone still covered by the CHNV program."

Random Celebrity News

For some values of "random", "celebrity" and "news". It's been a while, hasn't it?

Bounding into Sports reports NFL Podcaster Cam Stewart Becomes Public Enemy #1 For Swifties After He Suggests Tossing Taylor Swift Into Niagara Falls. That/s not nice!

It all started when Cam Stewart, one of the hosts of SportsGrid’s “Drew and Stew Podcast,” was talking about the legitimacy of the Chiefs’ 9-0 record on this week’s show. As in – are they what their record says they are, or are they a paper tiger? Conversation then turned to the upcoming grudge match against Buffalo at Highmark Stadium this weekend, and whether or not the Bills have the juice to take down the undefeated and current Super Bowl Champions.

“I love Buffalo,” Stewart said. “I love the people there…I love the food there and I want something positive to happen for these people. “Haven’t they been through enough? Kansas City, ‘Oh, we’re in Kansas City. We’re living the great life. We win every week,'” he added.

Drew Livingstone, Stewart’s co-host, chimed in to point out that Swift is expected to attend Sunday’s game in Buffalo to support her boyfriend and Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce.  “Oh, who cares?!” Stewart ranted in response. “Throw her in the [Niagara] Falls.”

At RVN,  Former NASCAR Driver Danica Patrick Reveals What She Was Paid To Support Trump

Former NASCAR driver Danica Patrick has shared details about her support for President-elect Donald Trump’s campaign, revealing she received no payment for her appearances and events in his favor.

This contrasts sharply with reports that Kamala Harris’s campaign allegedly paid $5 million to rapper Megan Thee Stallion for a campaign appearance, a claim that Harris’s team has yet to confirm or deny. Patrick, 42, supported Trump openly during her first-ever involvement in a political campaign, speaking at a rally in Lititz, Pennsylvania, and joining Trump on the campaign trail—all without compensation.

On her resume, Vonn has three Olympic medals, including golds in the downhill and a bronze in super-G, both won at the 2010 Vancouver Games. In the 2018 Pyeongchang Games, she won another medal in the downhill, this time a bronze. On top of that, she also has four World Cup championships and eight medals in the world championships.

Appearing on Fox & Friends Tuesday, Michaels warned Democrats that their refusal to address voter concerns could cost them future elections.

Pop singer Katy Perry is facing backlash after recommending the film Idiocracy on social media in what appeared to be a jab at President-elect Donald Trump and his supporters.

Perry’s post on X (formerly Twitter) late Wednesday drew ridicule from commenters who argued the Biden-Harris administration better reflected the satirical 2006 film directed by Mike Judge.

Perry bypassed popular movie review platforms like Letterboxd to post her recommendation, saying nothing beyond urging her followers to watch the film.

Random Celebrity News

For some values of "random", "celebrity" and "news." First, at Sheknows, Fans Are Going After Katy Perry Over Her Latest Legal Battle That’s About to Head to Trial

Back in early August, news broke that Katy Perry and her fiancé Orlando Bloom were in some serious legal drama after the previous owner of a home they had recently bought sued the couple. According to the legal documents obtained by Daily Mail at the time, the home’s previous owner, 84-year-old veteran Carl Westcott, claimed he was of “unsound mind” and recovering from back surgery when he signed over his property for $15 million back in 2020.

Now, almost two months later, Westcott and Perry/Bloom are headed to trial on Sept 27, and the internet, as well as Westcott’s family members, aren’t holding back on their thoughts. “I hope this case can be dismissed and Carl Westcott can keep his home. Greed should not win,” wrote one user on X (formerly known as Twitter).

According to a recent interview with RadarOnline, Westcott, who has been battling Huntington’s disease for the past few years, is also bedridden and “unable to be present in the courtroom.”

“Why are you trying to kick a dying vet out of his house?” wrote another user on X. “What is wrong with you? Your real estate agent is so shady, getting him to sign something while he’s on drugs from surgery in the hospital.” “What’s up with Katy Perry’s & her disturbing real estate deals/scams in CA?” echoed another user, who referred to Perry’s ill-fated real estate track record

Jeez haters, what's the point of becoming rich and famous if you can't stomp on the little people?  At TMZ, Cops Visit Britney Spears at Home ... After Dangerous Knife Dance & Apparent Injuries
Law enforcement sources tell us they received a call Wednesday expressing concern for Britney based on her recent conduct on social media. We're told deputies were also familiar with the knife video, and out of an abundance of caution, deputies from the Ventura County Sheriff's Department went out to Britney's house.

We're told Britney was home, and deputies were able to speak with her and determine she was OK ... so they left.

Sources with direct knowledge tell TMZ ... several people called the cops after Britney posted the knife video, and one of them is a person who actually did a welfare check on her in the past and was alarmed.

At Parade, Britney Spears Clears Up Confusion About Worrisome Video With Knives
After the video went viral, Spears updated the caption, noting, " Don’t worry they are NOT real knives !!! Halloween is soon 🙈🙈🙈 !!!"

However, in the Reel, the singer bangs the knives together, making the same noise that the sharp objects make when there's friction between them. The reflection of the light on the knives also shows that they're not made out of rubber, like most fake weapons sold for Halloween. Additionally, the ridges and handles are seemingly the same as the ones featured in cooking knives.

TMZ reported that according to multiple sources, Spears has a fascination with knives, keeping them "all around the house—including the bedroom." A source noted that she "was paranoid someone was going to get her, and she needed the knives as protection." The same claims were shared in the tabloid's documentary about the pop star, Britney Spears: The Price of Freedom.

I'd be more impressed if they were running chainsaws. From Outkick, Native American Group Hopes Taylor Swift Can End Chiefs' Tomahawk Chop, Because Apparently There Are No Other Issues

Rhonda LeVado, founder of the Native American group Not in Our Honor told TMZ that she hopes Taylor Swift will convince Chiefs fans to stop doing the gesture.

“We remain hopeful that an outside influence like Ms. Swift could be an ally for us in moving the conversation forward on why the chop is a racist act,” LeValdo said.
. . .
She’s determined that after going to one Chiefs game, it’s Taylor Swift’s duty to tell Chiefs fans what to do.

That’d go over well.

“We implore Ms. Swift to take the time to understand our perspective and the scientific and psychological research into the harm to youth and communities caused by such behavior.”

There are real problems facing indigenous communities. It makes sense that an activist like LeValdo would want to use her time with a major outlet like TMZ to try to get Swift’s attention.

She could’ve shined a light on communities dealing with contaminated water. Maybe a focus on increasing tribal governance in education. She could’ve even talked about the disturbing, disproportionate amount of missing and murdered indigenous women that rarely if ever gets reported (so rarely, that I guarantee some of you are hearing about it for the first time from me and not the woman who runs a Native American special interest group).

Nope. She went with the Tomahawk Chop. She’s too busy getting mad about hand gestures and sports team names to have mentioned those other things.
I hope Taylor resists the temptation to virtue signal on this, but I wouldn't bet a lot of money on it.

Rule 5 Saturday - Bebe Rexha

This Rule 5 post inspired by this post from Donald Douglas at Theo's. I'd never heard of her before, so I decided to take a look:
Bleta Rexha (Albanian pronunciation: [ˈblɛta ˈɾɛdʒa];  born August 30, 1989), known professionally as Bebe Rexha (/ˈbiːbi ˈrɛksə/ BEE-bee REK-sə),  is an American singer and songwriter. After signing with Warner Bros. Records in 2013, Rexha received songwriting credits on Eminem's single "The Monster" (which later received the Grammy Award for Best Rap/Sung Performance) and has also contributed songwriting to songs recorded by Shinee, Selena Gomez, and Nick Jonas.  Rexha released her debut extended play in 2015, I Don't Wanna Grow Up, which saw the moderate commercial success of the singles "I Can't Stop Drinking About You" and "I'm Gonna Show You Crazy".

Rexha was born on August 30, 1989 in Brooklyn, New York, U.S., to Albanian parents.  Her father, Flamur Rexha, was born in Debar, North Macedonia when it was part of Yugoslavia; he emigrated to the U.S. at the age of 21. Her mother, Bukurije Rexha, was born in the U.S. to an Albanian family with roots in Gostivar (which, like Debar, is now part of North Macedonia).  In the Albanian language, bletë means "bee"; and she explained "My parents are Albanian, and people started calling me 'Bebe' for short."  She and her family moved to nearby Staten Island when she was six. She attended Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey for two years of college.

Rexha played trumpet and taught herself to play guitar and piano.  Rexha attended Tottenville High School on Staten Island,  where she took part in a variety of musicals.   She also joined the choir, while still in high school. After joining the choir, she discovered that her voice was a coloratura soprano.  Rexha lists Coldplay, the Cranberries, Lauryn Hill, Alanis Morissette, and Kanye West as musical influences.
She seems to be quite talented, and a very hard worker,

She is also justifiably proud of her ample booty.

It's not my preferred genre but:

#HerToo Again!

A second person has come forward accusing Katy Perry of sexual harassment.

Earlier this week, model Josh Kloss who starred alongside the singer in her 2010 music video for ‘Teenage Dream’ made a series of allegations on his Instagram page. He claimed that Perry – who was a crush of his at the time – once yanked at his underwear without his permission at a party, in turn revealing his genitals to people stood near him.
Tina Kandelaki

Now, a female TV host in Georgia named Tina Kandelaki has accused Perry of harassing her at an industry party, according to Russian newspaper Rossiyskaya Gazeta,

Kandelaki claims Perry was heavily intoxicated when she inappropriately touched her and tried to kiss her. Kandelaki says she rejected Perry’s alleged advances, but the pop singer continued to act inappropriately with other people attending the event.

She went on to say she decided to go public after hearing about Perry’s alleged mistreatment of Kloss.
