More Random Celebrity News

For some values of the words "random", "celebrity" and "news".

YaHoo! ‘Sabrina’ Star Julia Ormond Sues Harvey Weinstein for Sexual Assault

In the Wednesday lawsuit filed in Manhattan, Sabrina star Julia Ormond states that Weinstein sexually assaulted her after a business dinner. She alleges that Weinstein lured her into a room under the guise of giving her a massage before he allegedly forced her to give him oral sex and masturbated on her. The lawsuit, which was first reported by Variety, also names Disney and CAA for allegedly telling her to stay quiet after the assault.

“After living for decades with the painful memories of my experiences at the hands of Harvey Weinstein, I am humbled and grateful to all those who have risked speaking out,” Ormond said. “Their courage and the Adult Survivors Act has provided me a window of opportunity and way to shed light on how powerful people and institutions like my talent agents at CAA, Miramax and Disney enabled and provided cover for Weinstein to assault me and countless others. I seek a level of personal closure by holding them accountable to acknowledge their part and the depth of its harms and hope that all of our increased understanding will lead to further protections for all of us at work.”

This seems like a late hit. Did she just have a recovered memory?

From SportsLens. Who Is Lindsey Hill? Trevor Bauer Accuser Net Worth, $300k Settlement, & More

At the crux of the matter are the sexual assault allegations by Lindsey Hill, leading to a contentious legal duel. Talk of consent and its boundaries played a pivotal role in the ensuing discourse.

Bauer’s career momentarily faltered under the weight of the accusations, with the scrutiny from both professional spheres and the public taking its toll as the legal proceedings unfolded. The accusations ignited a ripple of reactions from both the media and the public, sparking discussions ranging from the legal intricacies to the societal implications of the case.

The revelation of text messages exchanged between Bauer and Hill brought a fresh dimension to the case. The text messages revealed during the case are alleged to show Lindsey Hill’s financial motivations. Some examples of these text messages include:
  • In one message, Hill reportedly texted an unknown person mentioning Bauer’s net worth, stating his “Net worth is 51 mil.”
  • In a text to a friend, Hill allegedly wrote, “need daddy to choke me out” and “Being an absolute WHORE to try to get in on his $51 million.”
  • Another message from Hill to a friend before meeting Bauer supposedly read, “Next victim. Star pitcher for the Dodgers.”
  • Also, a message allegedly from Hill stated, “Im going to his house Wednesday. I already have my hooks in. You know how I roll.”
These text messages were reportedly brought forward to highlight Hill’s intentions and to shed light on the claims of sexual assault made against Trevor Bauer.

SiLive, Mattel releases Stevie Nicks Barbie doll, but it’s already sold out

She’s wearing a long black dress with flowing chiffon statement sleeves, tall black boots and a gold moon necklace. Textured bangs, a smoky eye and a tambourine with cascading ribbons complete the look. Mattel evoked all of the 1970s nostalgia when it offered up its latest creation – the Stevie Nicks Barbie doll, which duplicates the singer’s look from Fleetwood Mac’s legendary Rumours album cover. But they forgot one thing: That millions of fans would want one.

Nicks’ Barbie went on sale Monday for $55 and was sold out by Tuesday morning. Now the doll is on eBay for $200+.

I guess Gabi isn't getting one.

“When Mattel came to me asking if I would like to have a Barbie made in the ‘Rumours’ cover style I was very overwhelmed. Of course, I questioned ‘would she look like me? Would she have my spirit? Would she have my heart…’” Nicks wrote on X, the platform previously known as Twitter.

“When I look at her, I see my 27 year old self — All the memories of walking out on a big stage in that black outfit and those gorgeous boots come rushing back — and then I see myself now in her face,” she continued. “What we have been through since 1975 — the battles we have fought, the lessons we have learned — together. I am her and she is me. She absolutely has my heart.”

Kim Novak had a forbidden romance that nearly destroyed her career – and it was worth it.

The actress, who left Hollywood in 1966, is making a rare appearance to connect with fans on the TCM Classic Cruise sailing Nov. 6-11. As the Alfred Hitchcock muse prepares for her journey, she’s reflecting on her "misunderstood" relationship with Sammy Davis Jr.

"I loved him," the 90-year-old told Fox News Digital. "He was a person that had a youthful innocence about him. Now, I know no one ever saw him that way, but I did. He had a boyish quality, and I loved that about him."

And what celebrity post would be complete without Taylor Swift? From OutKick,  Did Taylor Swift Go To The Jets Football Game To Cover Up Her Own Absurd Private Jet Use? Don't care, do you?

There’s a theory going around that Taylor Swift had an ulterior motive, besides her possible romance with Travis Kelce, for attending last Sunday’s Chiefs vs Jets game at MetLife Stadium. Now what could the world’s most popular celebrity be so concerned about that she would purposely make a big deal about attending a football game? Well, it’s not just any football game… it was a Jets game.

The theory is that Swift wanted to deliberately try and cover up her carbon footprint and her use of private jets. Taylor is one of the biggest CO2 polluter out of any celebrity – with her private jet use emissions at 1000x the average person.

In recent weeks and months there have been multiple Reddit threads and social media accounts detailing Swift’s obnoxiously absurd level of private jet use – something that even diehard Swifties had begun criticizing her about.

However, with Swift going to the Jets game, now anytime someone searches for words like “Taylor Swift Jets” or “Taylor Swift Jet” it doesn’t show any disparaging articles or columns about her private jet use. Instead the Google results, articles, images and videos all show Swift at the Jets game, effectively burying and indexing the private jet narrative and all the drama that would come with it! Forget SEO, this is now SwiftEO.

And whether true ore not, it is actually kind of hilariously brilliant.

RIP: Tina Turner

The great old ones are passing, Parade Tina Turner's Cause of Death Revealed One Day After Passing

Just one day after news that the icon had passed away, Tina Turner's official cause of death has been revealed.

The musical legend—born Anna Mae Bullock—died on May 24 of natural causes, her rep told the Daily Mail on Thursday, May 25. She was 83.

As Parade previously reported, the Queen of Rock ’n Roll—known for her powerhouse vocals, flashy style, and riveting performances—passed away on May 24, in her $76 million home in Küsnacht, near Zurich, Switzerland. She had reportedly been battling a "long illness," though the details and nature of the condition were not disclosed.
Turner previously opened up about dealing with intestinal cancer, and also had a history of high blood pressure and kidney disease, however none of these were included as official factors in her cause of death. She also suffered a stroke in 2013.

Two months before she died, the “Proud Mary” singer admitted that she was in “great danger,” while alluding to the fact that she was unaware of how serious her health issues were.

With former husband and abuser
Ike Turner

“My kidneys are victims of my not realising [sic] that my high blood pressure should have been treated with conventional medicine,” she shared on Instagram on March 9. “I have put myself in great danger by refusing to face the reality that I need daily, lifelong therapy with medication. For far too long I believed that my body was an untouchable and indestructible bastion.”
The "What's Love Got to Do With It" artist revealed her years-long experience dealing with a myriad of physical and mental ailments in 2021 feature-length documentary Tina, where she also discussed PTSD and a 2017 kidney transplant.

So, all that, and they never really said.

83 isn't too bad, but I hope for better.

Emrat Quits Hollywood

Or did Hollywood quit her? OutKick, Emily Ratajkowski Reveals Why She Quit Acting

Emily Ratajkowski believes some people can’t look past her physical features.

Ratajkowski is one of the most popular models on the planet, and currently boasts a staggering 29.9 million Instagram followers.

Did she get there by covering up? Quite the opposite. Yet, she apparently doesn’t want anyone focused on what she looks like and claims that mentality is what drove her to quit acting.

Rajakowsi told the Los Angeles Times, “But I didn’t feel like, ‘Oh, I’m an artist performing and this is my outlet.’ I felt like a piece of meat who people were judging, saying, ‘Does she have anything else other than her [breasts]?'”

Well . . .?

She then took things a step further and claimed she fired her team in 2020 because they were all anti-woman.

“I didn’t trust them. I was like, ‘I can handle receiving phone calls. I’m gonna make these decisions. None of you have my best interest at heart. And you all hate women,'” the “Gone Girl” actress further explained.

Prior to quitting acting, Ratajowski had major roles in “Gone Girl,” “Entourage,” “We are your Friends” and “I Feel Pretty.” She hasn’t been in a movie since 2019.

The popular model was never able to score a significant lead role. Apparently, that was because guys couldn’t stop salivating over her. It definitely wasn’t because she wasn’t a great actress.

Surely, somewhere in Hollywood there must be a suitable role for a woman with a slim waist, huge honkers, a mousy face and weak acting skills. At least there would be if Harvey Weinstein was still ruling the roost.

Great Moments in #MeToo

Rosey Fletcher
While it's receded from the new with President Trump leaving office, it's still alive. Fox, 3 former U.S. snowboarders sue coach, federation and Olympic committee for sex trafficking: reports

Three former members of the U.S. Ski & Snowboard team are suing their former coach, a national federation and its CEO and the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Committee for sex trafficking, harassment and enabling and covering up multiple acts of sexual assault and misconduct, according to multiple reports.

Olympians Rosey Fletcher and Callan Chythlook-Sifsof, along with Erin O'Malley, alleged in their lawsuit that Peter Foley, Gale "Tiger" Shaw and the USOPC "conspired and acted in concert with one another to commit unlawful acts."

Callan Chythlook-Sifsof

The three women say Foley used his position of trust to "coerce sexual acts through force, manipulation, emotional abuse, intimidation and retaliation."

Fletcher, a 2006 Bronze medalist, claims Foley sexually assaulted her when she was 19 and again at a post-race event at the Olympics. O'Malley said Foley also sexually assaulted her at sanctioned competitions and in an elevator in front of Fletcher, while mentally and verbally abusing her at age 15.

Erin O'Malley

"Foley began groping Erin and forcibly trying to kiss her — all without her consent," the lawsuit said. "For nearly 20 years, coaches and executives at both organizations enabled Foley's behavior, refused to act and helped cover up Foley's behavior, allowing him to continue his pattern of abuse."

Chythlook-Sifsof says she was raped by a male coach "nearly three times her age from an opposing team" during the 2005 world junior championships in 2005 when she was 16.

A former federation employee, Lindsey Nikola, said in a separate lawsuit Thursday that Foley "sexually harassed and sexually assaulted" her and forced her to take nude photos in hotel rooms at two World Cup ski races.

I'm starting to think athletics has a problem.

But at the Mix, Pamela Anderson Defies Hollywood By Doubling Down On Anti-#MeToo Comments

Pamela Anderson is refusing to back down from comments that she made years ago that were against the #MeToo movement.

When asked about her past comments on the #MeToo movement in a new interview, Anderson refused to back down and instead defied Hollywood once again by saying that she could take her remarks “a step further.”

In a November of 2017 interview, Megyn Kelly asked Anderson about the #MeToo movement that was turning Hollywood upside down at the time, but the former “Baywatch” star wasn’t having any of it.

“You know what you’re getting into if you go to a hotel room alone,” she said.

Ronan Farrow, the journalist who started the #MeToo movement with his takedown of the Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein, asked Anderson about her past comments on Wednesday, wanting to know if she feels that this was “a healthy thought to introduce into the dialogue at that point.”

“I could even take it a step further,” Anderson, 55, fired back as Farrow interviewed her for an Interview Magazine profile.

“My mother would tell me — and I think this is the kind of feminism I grew up with — it takes two to tango,” Anderson explained, going on to say that her mother taught her that, “‘If someone answers the door in a hotel robe and you’re going for an interview, don’t go in. But if you do go in, get the job.’”

She knew the rules of the game she was in.

#HerToo, Except When Her Career is at Stake

Page 6, Why Emily Ratajkowski stayed silent about Robin Thicke’s alleged groping

“I was an unknown model, and if I had spoken out or complained, I would not be where I am today; I would not be famous,” Ratajkowski, 30, told the mag at the CoinGeek Conference cocktail party Monday.

The Sports Illustrated stunner said she decided to detail the alleged incident in her book because she has evolved over the years and hopes her fans will understand.

I understand. Your feelings about being groped are contingent about how much it benefits you later. That's natural.

Published in the Sunday Times, the excerpt from Ratajkowski’s memoir claims that Thicke groped her bare breast while shooting the 2013 music video that would launch her to fame.

“Suddenly, out of nowhere, I felt the coolness and foreignness of a stranger’s hands cupping my bare breasts from behind. I instinctively moved away, looking back at Robin Thicke,” she writes in the book, set to be released next month.

You can find the "unrated" version of the video here. But it seems to move around a bit.

“He smiled a goofy grin and stumbled backward, his eyes concealed behind his sunglasses. My head turned to the darkness beyond the set. [The director, Diane Martel’s] voice cracked as she yelled out to me, ‘Are you okay?’” the book states.

Martel confirmed the incident, according to the Times’ report, and said she didn’t believe Thicke would have done it “had he been sober.”

Drunk guy gropes girl who has been (quite literally) parading around topless in front of him. He shouldn't have done it, but it's not exactly the crime of the century.

I wonder if she would have even bothered writing about this if Donald Trump had been elected President.  #MeToo was a poorly directed fleet of torpedoes aimed at President Trump, and the miraculous thing is how many circled back and hit ships from the same side.

Election 2021: California Votes to Recall Newsome

Yeah, I cheated a little in the title. Today is the recall election in California, my home state. I fully expect Newsome to crawl over the line with enough votes to survive, and frankly, for the most part, voters in California deserve to keep what they voted for in the first place. That said, from a state with a crazy streak as hot and wide as the Central Valley, California's recall laws are unusually bizarre. The governor can be put up for recall by a fairly small petition campaign, and then recalled by a losing a majority of votes in a hastily called election; OK, I suppose that's fair, but what's even weirder is the his replacement is chosen by the winner of the most votes in a potentially huge field (I mean, everybody in California thinks they can do a better job, and many probably could). Hence, the very real chance that well known figure from the opposition party, say Ahnold Schwarzenegger, or Larry Elder, could capture the seat. Oh what fun!

Anyway, we're already seeing allegations of potential fraud, with San Fernando Valley residents cast provisional ballots due to equipment issue
H/T Ace The Morning Report - 9/14/21

At El Camino Real Charter High School in Woodland Hills, some voters say they were told the computers showed them as already having voted, even though they had not.

West Hills resident Estelle Bender, 88, said she was far from the only person who was being told incorrectly that they had already voted.

In addition to friends of hers who experienced the issue and two other women outside the polling place, Bender said that inside, “the man next to me was arguing the same thing.”

The FBI has fired one of the lead agents credited with thwarting a plot to kidnap Gov. Gretchen Whitmer after he was charged with beating his wife following a swingers party, The Detroit News has learned.

The firing of Special Agent Richard Trask earlier this week comes amid questions about agent misconduct and whether as many as 12 informants were driving the alleged conspiracy.

Trask was fired, according to a source familiar with his case, while awaiting trial on a charge of assault with intent to do great bodily harm and allegations he smashed his wife's head against a nightstand and choked her after a dispute stemming from their attendance at a swingers' party in July. Trask also was moonlighting as a personal trainer and it was unclear if his superiors at the FBI were aware or had approved the job.

If I were on the defense I would demand he be put on the stand. There appears to be a reasonable case to be made that the FBI crossed the line by suggesting, planning, and providing the means for the plot, all in time to reveal it before Whitmer's reelection.

Not surprisingly, the party whose organizing method is “the moral equivalent of war” views American politics as the continuation of warfare by other means, to flip von Clausewitz’s axiom on its head. And as the past month has illustrated, they’re far more focused on fighting against American people and industries, rather than Middle Eastern terrorists.

Cuomo Out!

The things you miss when you take a walk on the beach: Another torpedo circles back and attacks the fleet that loosed it. From Stacy McCain: CUOMO ANNOUNCES RESIGNATION

Wow! This just happened on live TV without any forewarning. First, the lawyer for New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo did a long defense presentation criticizing the investigation of him, and then the governor came on with a statement that began with him sounding like he was preparing to dig in and hold onto office. So I turned the sound down and went back to work, but then my brother Kirby walked in and looked at my office TV and said, “Cuomo resigns.” What the hell?

UPDATE: Brittany Bernstein reports at National Review:
Governor Andrew Cuomo announced his resignation Tuesday, saying he would like to spare New Yorkers the distraction of a protracted impeachment inquiry.
“I work for you and doing the right thing is doing the right thing for you because as we say, it’s not about me, it’s about we,” Cuomo said in a televised address, adding that his resignation would be effective in two weeks.
He said that fighting back against the “politically motivated” attack on him would throw New York into months of turmoil and “I cannot be the cause of that.”
“The best way I can help now is if I step aside and let government get back to government,” the 63-year-old three-term governor said.
Lt. Governor Kathy Hochul will become the state’s first female governor.
“I agree with Governor Cuomo’s decision to step down. It is the right thing to do and in the best interest of New Yorkers,” tweeted 62-year-old Hochul, who previously served as a member of Congress.
Ahead of his resignation on Tuesday, Cuomo said he takes “fully responsibility” for his actions, though he continued to defend himself, saying he had “never crossed the line with anyone.”
“I have slipped and called people ‘honey, ’sweetheart’ and ‘darling.’ I mean it to be endearing but women found it dated and offensive,” he said. “I take full responsibility for my actions. I have been too familiar with people. My sense of humor can be insensitive and off-putting.”
“In my mind, I’ve never crossed the line with anyone but I didn’t realize the extent to which the line has been redrawn,” Cuomo added. “There are generational and cultural shifts that I just didn’t fully appreciate and I should have — no excuses.”
(Hat-tip: Ed Driscoll at Instapundit.) Most guys our age — I’m a couple of years younger than Cuomo — could actually sympathize if (and it’s a big “if,” so big as to be a farfetched speculation) all Cuomo did was make jokes or behave in ways that could be politely deemed “flirtatious.”

Once upon a time, perhaps as recently as 20 or 25 years ago, men and women were allowed to joke around in the workplace in ways that now seem to be automatically construed as “harassment” — at least when men do it. I suppose women are still allowed to joke around, but apparently an “insensitive” joke is now grounds for immediate termination, if a guy does it. It’s been a dozen years since I had a regular office job, so my understanding of workplace protocol may be obsolete, but judging from news coverage of “harassment” in the #MeToo era, any young man would be best advised never to speak to any woman in the office, if he could possibly avoid it, and certainly no man should ever make a joke at work, if a woman is within earshot. Be a serious as a 17th-century Puritan in Salem — that’s the only way for a man to survive the contemporary workplace climate. Keep your mouth shut and never make eye contact with a woman at the office. Strive to be invisible.

I certainly expected this morality play to take longer to conclude, but I was fine with the outcome however it came it. It's New York's problem. They vote poorly.

But He Seemed Like Such a Nice Young Man

Althouse: "Evan Rachel Wood Accuses Marilyn Manson of Abuse ... Hours later Mr. Manson’s label dropped him."

The NYT reports.

“The name of my abuser is Brian Warner, also known to the world as Marilyn Manson,” Ms. Wood wrote in an Instagram post. “He started grooming me when I was a teenager and horrifically abused me for years. I was brainwashed and manipulated into submission. I am done living in fear of retaliation, slander, or blackmail. I am here to expose this dangerous man and call out the many industries that have enabled him, before he ruins any more lives. I stand with the many victims who will no longer be silent.”

Wood was 19 — a teenager — when the relationship began. Manson was twice her age. His Instagrammed response is:
“Obviously, my art and my life have long been magnets for controversy, but these recent claims about me are horrible distortions of reality. My intimate relationships have always been entirely consensual with like-minded partners. Regardless of how — and why — others are now choosing to misrepresent the past, that is the truth.”
From the NYT:

As often is the case most of the fun is in the comments.

Ms. Wood, who supported a California law that extended the statute of limitations on domestic abuse, testified before the State Senate in 2019 that a man whom she did not identify by name had groomed her when she was 18. “He cut me off from my close friends and family one by one, by exhibiting rage in some form or another when I was in contact with them,” she said in her testimony. “He had bouts of extreme jealousy, which would often result in him wrecking our home, cornering me in a room and threatening me.”

She said that she felt terrified for her life, and that he broke her down through starvation and sleep deprivation, and by threatening to kill her. In one instance, he forced her to kneel in their bedroom, tied up her hands and feet, beat her and shocked sensitive parts of her body....

Mr. Manson told Spin magazine in 2009 that he had called Ms. Wood 158 times one day after a breakup. “I have fantasies every day about smashing her skull in with a sledgehammer,” he said.

Marylin Manson was a monster? Who could have guessed. I suppose girls like bad boys, until they don't.

And #HimToo!

At Hot Air, Lindsey Boylan, Andrew Cuomo Sexually Harassed Me For Years

Yes, @NYGovCuomo sexually harassed me for years. Many saw it, and watched.

I could never anticipate what to expect: would I be grilled on my work (which was very good) or harassed about my looks. Or would it be both in the same conversation? This was the way for years.

Not knowing what to expect what’s the most upsetting part aside from knowing that no one would do a damn thing even when they saw it.

But did he kill her grandma?

No one.

And I *know* I am not the only woman.

I’m angry to be put in this situation at all. That because I am a woman, I can work hard my whole life to better myself and help others and yet still fall victim as countless women over generations have. Mostly silently.

I hate that some men, like @NYGovCuomo abuse their power.

She entered the primaries against Jerrold Nadler (D-Peking) this year and lost. She would have immeasurably improved the appearance of The House of Representitives, if not, maybe, the politics.

Maybe she knows the truth of the "nipple piercing" rumor.
