I'm Back From Fishin'

And I won't lie, as far as fishing goes, it was the toughest fishing trip I've been on in a long time. A warm, mostly overcast day, we started at Location X, where, after a few drifts, only a couple of fish were caught.

We crossed over to the Little Choptank River, where we were fishing points for Speckled Trout, with no luck, but we were accompanied along the way by a pod of about 5 dolphins. You can barely see on the their fins in this photo. At some points we actually saw huge schools of fish both on the side scan sonar and even visually, but they had a bad case of lock jaw, and with a couple of exceptions, refused our offerings.
We ended up on the back side of Hoopers Island, where we found something both Pete and I (and none of our other anglers) have seen in this portion of the Bay before, a seal. It seemed almost as curious about us as we were about it, and kept popping its head out of the water and staring at us.
Our pictures aren't very good, so getting a species name is probably out of the question, but it's worth noting that a Harbor Seal has been known to wind up in Baltimore Harbor, even farther up the Bay..
