The Politics Brief, Judge Who Went on CNN to Attack Trump Gets Rebuked by Court of Appeals Over J6 Case 

Judge Reggie Walton, a sitting D.C. Court judge who went on CNN to give a scathing rebuke of Donald Trump, recently decided that the Department of Justice was justified in spying on a J6 defendant’s computer without a warrant because it was seeking out information on controversial political opinions. On Saturday, Judge Walton was himself rebuked by a D.C. court of appeals panel for signing off on unconstitutional and illegal surveillance practices simply because he politically disagreed with the defendants.

The D.C appeals court decided “The district court plainly erred in imposing the computer-monitoring condition without considering whether it was ‘reasonably related’ to the relevant sentencing factors and involved ‘no greater deprivation of liberty than is reasonably necessary’ to achieve the purposes behind the sentencing,” as reported by legal analyst Julie Kelly.

During an interview with Townhall columnist and legal analyst Phil Holloway, Christopher Kachouroff, the attorney for Trump co-defendant Harrison Floyd alleged that Willis recorded a phone call between herself and one of his Maryland colleagues.

"She did reach out to us, one of my colleagues in Maryland, and was rude, abrupt with him on the phone, and he was dealing with the Maryland case and I was dealing with the Georgia case, and she ended up recording him," Kachouroff said.

He noted that Maryland is a "two party state," meaning both parties had to consent to the recording. When asked by Holloway if he was saying that Willis illegally recorded the phone call, he said, "Oh, yes" and noted it was a felony in Maryland.

But since the crime occurred in Maryland, there's less than zero chance she'll be formally accused, let alone convicted.
