Flotsam and Jetsam - New Channels Cut In Harbor

Some good news from Baltimore, ABC 7, reports 2 temporary channels open at Port of Baltimore after Key Bridge collapse "On Monday, one channel, on the northeast side of the collapse, opened for commercial traffic. The other temporary channel opened Tuesday." They're not big enough to support the huge commercial ships, but they allow barge traffic for fuel and other materials. We should all give thanks for the deplorable boys with big toys. Meanwhile, the Balmer Sun is worried about Key Bridge wreckage sinking into riverbed as lightning near Baltimore delays salvage operations and The Dali crew is in limbo. With Wi-Fi, they can see the world outside the Port of Baltimore. "21 crew members are on board the Dali, performing their ship duties as they answer questions from investigators following the Key Bridge collapse." The difference between that and a normal day at sea is that the scenery never changes. But at least they get a close up look at the channel clearing operation. At Am Spec, Scott McKay believes Team Biden Declares War on Christians "It was a deliberate choice to glorify such wicked, horrid, blasphemous beliefs on Easter Sunday." Jordan Boyd at Da Fed says Nobody Believes Biden’s Transgender Celebration On Easter Was A Coincidence. "Up is down. Left is right. War is peace. Freedom is slavery. Ignorance is strength. Two and two make five. And Biden is a saint who did nothing worth backlash." Capt. Ed at Hat Hair disagrees, "My thoughts on the controversy went up this morning. Unlike Boyd, I'd apply Hanlon's Razor to this situation: Never ascribe to malice that which can be explained by incompetence. My best guess is that the incompetents in the White House, starting with the Incompetent in Chief, didn't realize that the two days were the same -- and they've been deflecting blame ever since onto those who noticed it before they did. The blame-shifting is certainly malicious enough, though." I'm in the Capt. Ed school on this one. At Bongino, Matt Palumbo notices Karine Jean-Pierre's Attempted April Fools Joke Goes Awry. Althouse is shocked to discover RFK Jr. still Does not have Secret Service protection. At Da Pipeline Steve Hayward calls the EV mandates Wholesale Madness, Retail Insanity. From the Free Bacon, California's Electric Truck Fleet Mandate Also Applies to Out-of-State Companies, Prompting Lawsuit. "The rule is extraterritorial, burdensome, and impractical. It is riddled with exemptions that allow [California's air regulatory agency] to micro-manage fleets and play favorites, one vehicle at a time." I&I, Black Gold. At Reason, No, Biden's New Rail Crew Mandate Doesn't Make 'Common Sense.' "Requiring two-person crews on freight trains wouldn't have prevented the East Palestine disaster. It's simply a giveaway to Biden's labor union allies." Capt. Ed, "As Boehm points out, this "solution" just coincidentally fits with the union's long-standing demand to mandate more personnel on trains. As he points out, though, there were three people working the train that derailed in East Palestine, Ohio -- the accident that supposedly is driving this decision. Adding another person wouldn't have prevented that accident, either. This is manipulating a tragedy to pay off a political ally." John Sexton from Hat Hair has Primary Results from CT, NY, RI, WI and MS, if you care. Wisconsonite Althouse, I'm just noticing that today is primary day here in Wisconsin. "I genuinely wasn't sure and haven't heard much about it." And then I didn't vote in yesterday's primary.

I was the classic nonvoter: I didn't vote because the weather was bad. It wasn't even that bad. Early on, it was raining, but then it changed to snow, and it was even big fluffy flakes, the kind I tend to exclaim about with delight. And yet, it was windy, and it was getting a bit late.

But who was I supposed to vote for? It's Wisconsin, where I could have voted in either party's primary. The most compelling candidate was in the Democratic Party primary: "uninstructed delegation." This morning I see, in the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel: "Wisconsin 'uninstructed delegation' voters more than double Biden's 2020 margin." I had a little trouble understanding what that meant.
Voters who chose "uninstructed delegation" in Wisconsin's presidential primary Tuesday more than doubled the 20,000 votes President Joe Biden won the state by in 2020, sending a warning sign for his reelection chances in the battleground state.
