At the Mirror (UK), 'My pals and I got matching tattoos on holiday - 2 weeks later they looked
so different'
For some people tattoos are a way of expressing themselves or commemorating a special occasion, but when one woman got matching ink with her friends, she didn't expect it to be a constant reminder of what not to do when on holiday.
What started out as a cute palm tree design turned into something very different just weeks later.
Abby shared the story of getting her first tattoo on her TikTok account @xabby.bx, and now she's left with a permanent reminder of the disappointing event.
The content creator scared a short video of herself sitting in a tattoo studio while on holiday, with a warning to others: "Here's why not to get a tattoo on holiday".
Abby, 22, first shared a picture of the inking, which was located on her ankle, showing a cute, palm tree on a beach. Meanwhile, her three friends got the exact same design – one on the hip, another on her heel and a third on her ankle.
Initially the tattoo, which was done in a jet black ink, looked normal – but Abby shared it wasn't what she hoped it would be.
Next, she showed what the tattoo looked like just two weeks later – and it looked dramatically different. Abby wrote: "Two weeks later it faded and left squiggles".
Now, after her disappointing first tattoo, Abby says she's left with "squiggles for life".
