Flotsam and Jetsam - Pardon Me!

Can you imagine we're still looking a Joe Biden's pardon of his son Hunter for all federal crimes, named and unnamed from Jan 1, 2014 to Dec. 1, 2024? From Hat Hair, John Sexton notices After Thanksgiving, Biden Pardoned Another Turkey, Joe Biden admits The System Is Rigged, and Karine Jean-Pierre: 'War Politics Infected the Process', Beege Welborn looks at Our Rotten POTATUS and His Cracked Chip Off the Old Spud, Dave Strom wonders Were You Naive Enough to Believe Joe Biden? On X, Jonathan Turley@JonathanTurley, "With this pardon, Joe Biden shredded any residue of veracity and credibility as president." Bill D'Agostino@Banned_Bill "BRUTAL: Brianna Keilar on CNN just made Rep. Daniel Goldman (D-NY) watch a clip of himself insisting that Biden would never pardon Hunter. She then asked: "What does that feel like?" They even kept him on-screen as the video played so we could watch his reaction." Kate Hyde@KateHydeNY, "Biden’s Presidency started with him denying the existence of Hunter’s laptop and is ending with Biden pardoning Hunter for all the things found on his laptop." Glenn Greenwald@ggreenwald, "9 straight minutes of the people who destroyed trust in media heralding Joe Biden as one of history's greatest men of honor for saying he would not pardon Hunter Biden. Jerry Dunleavy IV πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ@JerryDunleavy, "This is a crock of shit by Joe Biden btw. Hunter Biden was not unfairly prosecuted, & he was rightly convicted of felony tax charges & gun charges. Hunter Biden’s sweetheart deal only unraveled because of brave whistleblowers. And he should’ve been charged with foreign lobbying." Nate Silver@NateSilver538 "I discussed here how I voted for Harris despite feeling like Democrats indulged in a lot of bad behavior that voters were rational to publish. After the White House lying about the Hunter pardon I'm not sure how much more I can tolerate." Andy Ngo 🏳️‍🌈@MrAndyNgo, "Americans are burdened with heavy taxes in a time when the cost of living is already crippling. HotNewHipHop, Blueface Flaunts Chrisean Rock Face Tattoo After She Addresses Marriage Rumors
It goes without saying that Chrisean Rock and Blueface's relationship is complicated. The two of them welcomed their first child together in 2023, and ever since, the chaos hasn't stopped. They ended up getting into some legal trouble earlier this year, leaving fans wondering where they stood. These days, Chrisean is out and committed to a better path, while Blueface remains behind bars.

Recently, however, Blueface's aunt started a rumor that they got married. His mother Karlissa Saffold quickly shut this theory down, claiming that nothing was official. Now, Chrisean herself has decided to address the rumors during a chat with her supporters on Instagram Live. According to her, they did exchange vows earlier this month, but they didn't actually get a marriage certificate. Moreover, she says she's trying to take things slow, as she's set on staying focused on god and her family.

It looks like Blueface might be taking a different approach to their reunion though, as evidenced by new footage of a jail call. In it, he's seen flexing a tattoo of Chrisean's name, which he recently got on his face. Of course, the new ink has earned big reactions from social media users, who for the most part, aren't feeling it. "Two goofies," one critic writes in Akademiks' Instagram comments section. "Oh lord not this again," another says. For now, it remains to be seen what'll end up happening between Chrisean and Blueface once he gets out, and whether or not his presence will derail Chrisean's progress.

Forget It Jake, It's Baltimore

Sarah Anderson at PJM, Are Baltimore Elementary Schools Prioritizing Gender Identity Over Math and Reading?

Baltimore City Schools are in bad shape. Earlier this year, Fox 5 Baltimore reported that "Results from the 2024 state test show nearly a third of all Maryland students who took the math exam last year scored in the lowest level of proficiency" and only 2% scored in the highest level of proficiency. Eight of the city's high schools had zero students who were proficient in math at all. Even worse, this is considered a "slight improvement" over last year's numbers. In 2023, zero students in 13 Baltimore high schools tested proficient in math.
. . .
While the tutoring might be beneficial, I can't help but think that it's the educational equivalent of treating the symptoms, not the cause. Perhaps the school district could dive a little deeper. Maybe, just maybe, it could focus on teaching math and other essential skills to its elementary school students rather than focusing on topics like gender identity, gay pride, and sexual confusion.

Spotlight on Maryland, which calls itself an "investigative project" of Fox 5 Baltimore and the Baltimore Sun filed a public records request to gain access to the school district's sex education program. What they discovered was pretty disgusting, especially when you realize they're teaching it to children as young as six years old.

According to investigative reporter Patrick Hauf, Baltimore City Schools are teaching first graders about "their private parts and reproductive systems, showing cartoon photos and videos." Hauf also says that teachers must use gender neutral language. Instead of saying "male reproductive system" and "female reproductive system," they're instructed to say "reproductive system one" and "reproductive system two." Hauf says by third grade, students learn about the "importance" of the LGBTetc. flag, and children in fourth grade watch videos about how it's okay to "feel sexually confused," complete with the song "I Kissed a Girl" by Katy Perry.

Fox 5 Baltimore posted a copy of the curriculum online, and some of the language within is mind-blowing. For example, in a less called "Pink, Blue and Purple," an exercise for first graders involves teachers asking them how they know what gender they are and explaining that this is their gender identify. After that, it suggests teachers tell students the following:
Gender identity is that feeling of knowing your gender. You might feel like you are a boy, you might feel like you are a girl. You might feel like you’re a boy even if you have body parts that some people might tell you are ‘girl’ parts. You might feel like you’re a girl even if you have body parts that some people might tell you are ‘boy’ parts. And you might not feel like you’re a boy or a girl, but you’re a little bit of both. No matter how you feel, you’re perfectly normal!
I don't have children, but if I did, I wouldn't want some stranger telling my six-year-old how to think about their "parts." It's worth noting that parents can opt out of the so-called sex education program, but I can't understand why the schools even offer it in the first place. Why do children who haven't even come close to hitting puberty need to learn anything at all about sex?

The good news is, that if history is any guide, the children of Baltimore won't learn this either.

Flotsam and Jetsam - Joe Pardons Hunter After All

We expected this didn't we? Despite have claimed numerous times that he would allow the legal process to take it's course, late yesterday, Joe Biden issued a blanket pardon to his son Hunter, covering all federal crimes he may have committed from Jan1, 2014 to Dec. 1, 2024. Sundance, President Trump Reacts to Hunter Biden Pardon "Does the pardon given by Joe to Hunter include the J6 Hostages, who have now been imprisoned for years? Such an abuse and miscarriage of Justice!" Althouse as always take her cue from the NYT, "President Biden and President-elect Donald J. Trump now agree on one thing: The Biden Justice Department has been politicized." Thanks to the NYT for stating the obvious point obviously. Also, "In trying to break Hunter, they’ve tried to break me"/"And guess what, we broke them and now they’re whining like little children"/"Hitler knows that he will have to break us...."

For an investigation, in fact, the Biden pardon may be extremely helpful. Suppose the pardon is indeed binding, and Hunter can never be prosecuted for any crime committed from 2014 to 2024. In that case, how can he plead the 5th Amendment, the right against self-incrimination, if he is called upon to testify in investigations of other people, people such as his father? He has immunity. He must testify. And if he lies, that is either the crime of lying to the FBI— the “Martha Stewart” felony that was employed against General Flynn— or, if he is under oath, it is perjury. Those crimes are not covered by the pardon, because they did not occur between 2014 and 2024— if he lies, it will be in 2025.

FWIW, I'm not opposed to pardoning Hunter, I'm far more concerned with Joe's corruption, but I wish Biden and Trump had worked out a deal where Trump would pardon Hunter (perhaps not so expansively) in return for Biden pardoning non-violent J6ers and abortion protesters. It would be a better solution for the country.

Random Celebrity News

For some values of "random", "celebrity" and "news". First, from BIS, Fiery Erin Andrews Blisters Fan Who Criticized Her Appearance: ‘Shut Up!’

Fox Sports NFL sideline reporter Erin Andrews responded sharply to a fan’s inappropriate comment about her appearance during a recent broadcast.

The incident occurred after she covered the 49ers-Buccaneers game in Tampa, where she explained that her “glow” was due to sweating from the high temperatures. It was rather toasty that day. Like real toasty. You can see Andrews just pouring sweat under the Florida sun.

A fan, though, suggested on social media that her condition was due to “hot flashes.” “It’s called sweat and I need a shower,” she said in a recent installment of her and Charissa Thompson’s “Calm Down” podcast, to which “some a–hole wrote, ‘It’s hot flashes.’”

Come on, y’all. Erin Andrews isn’t 25 anymore, but she’s not that old.

From Breitbart,  ‘Wicked’ Star Ariana Grande Claims Her Character Has Lesbian Tendencies: ‘Every Day in the Emerald City Is a Pride Parade’

Pop superstar Ariana Grande has claimed that her character in Wicked has lesbian tendencies, adding that “every day in the Emerald City is a Pride parade.”

Ariana Grande made the claims in an interview this week with The Gay Times.

When asked if her character Glinda and Elphaba (Cynthia Erivo) could be a romantic couple, she replied: “I don’t think there’s anything wrong with celebrating the deep connection that both of them have. I think they do have a real relationship, it is true love, which is probably why people are shipping it because what they build with each other is an unbreakable bond.”

She said they provide “such a safe space for one another, which is what all relationships should be. So, you know, whether it’s romantic or platonic — Glinda might be a little in the closet — but if there were a time, you never know. Give it a little more time.”

Actually, the Critical Drinker gave Wicked a surprisingly good review.

The Mix,  ‘Yellowstone’ Star Kelly Reilly Blasts The ‘Fakeness’ Of Hollywood – ‘I Stay Out Of It’

Kelly Reilly has been playing Beth Dutton on Yellowstone for the past six years. Despite starring on one of the most popular shows on television, Reilly has no interest in participating in the “fakeness” of Hollywood.

“I don’t participate in the noise in any way. I stay out of it. The only safe place for me is in the work – and then home with my husband. Very boring,” Reilly, 47, told Town & Country Magazine. “It can become a cyclone of [expletive] and fakeness, and I know I won’t find my worth in that,” she added.

Just before Reilly was cast on Yellowstone, she moved from New York City to the English countryside with her husband Kyle Baugher. “I have always loved my job, but the business can sometimes present challenges that I didn’t feel I was cut out for,” Reilly continued. “I just wanted to go back to theater and do two or three plays a year, and live quietly. That didn’t feel like a second prize. It felt like a choice, the life I wanted to have.”
Breitbart, ‘Full House’ Star Candace Cameron Bure: Trump’s Election Is Evidence Faith Is Making a Comeback in America
Speaking to Fox News on Friday, Full House star Candace Cameron Bure agreed that the election of Donald Trump is evidence that faith is making a comeback in America.

Bure gave a resounding “yes” when Fox News asked if she thought that the election results are proof that faith is coming back in the U.S.

“Yes, I mean, listen, everyone was blown away by this election,” she replied, “it was just a red sweep and more shocking than a lot of people realized.”

She noted that a major reason for Trump’s victory was economic, saying, “a lot of people had a hard time in the last four years trying to buy groceries, you know?”

Bure said that she has pulled back a bit from making too many political proclamations in public in the wake of her days co-hosting ABC talk show, The View, but that she and her family talk politics often.

Not buying it, myself.

CA Skeet at PJM proposes How To Stop Trans Insanity In Women's Sports

First and foremost, what girls need to do is network and organize. Far be it from me to lecture anyone how to organize, as I can't even keep my garage work table clean. But in today's social media world, I'm sure these girls can navigate just fine on their own, without fogeys like me chiming in with the, "Back in my day..." These girls need to reach out to other schools, connect with sports players on rival teams, and come together to publicly oppose every instance of biological males invading women's sports.

And they can effectively do this if every team in the conference forfeits every game against teams which allow men on their team. And kudos, by the way, to Wyoming, Utah State, and Nevada for doing exactly that by taking the lonely but righteous moral high ground and boycotting San Jose State. In a stunning show of courage that all the adults in the room lacked, the girls of Boise State just forfeited the semifinal match rather than play against a cheating male.

If only a few teams forfeit, as what is currently happening, it's not going to make much of a difference, now matter how noble the gesture. But if every team, or nearly every team, did so, that would be something the media could not ignore.

So what happens if everyone forfeits and the cheating team takes the championship without ever having actually beaten anyone fairly? How to counter this "victory"? This is the hard part. the girls...meaning the real girls...have to organize parallel leagues. They would operate the same ways as regular leagues, but without the cosplayer men. Anybody with any integrity (i.e. sponsors, fans, but especially parents) should support these parallel leagues, not just with public statements and attendance, but with funding and logistical and managerial assistance.

Divert the money, resources, and support to these parallel leagues. Let the "official" league hold no-show forfeit ceremonies, and present now-meaningless women's trophies to men in empty arenas. Once the money dried up, these schools and leagues would change their tune very, very quickly.

Here's where politicians and donors could help. Trump could end taxpayer funding to all schools which disregard Title IX protections for women's sports. Megadonors such as Elon Musk could very loudly fund such parallel leagues. So long as they're private, the misogynist left would have less power to regulate who is and isn't allowed on the teams.

And once the "official" leagues come crawling back, begging for the girls to return, the latter should do so only on three conditions:
  1. The return to the "official" league is approved by a majority of female athletes on the parallel leagues;
  2. The return is predicated on the terms of the girls', not the leagues', choosing, with future protections for female athletes written in and guaranteed by force of contract and law, and;
  3. A public apology and financial compensation for every female athlete under their charge who ever had a win stolen from her by a man, whoever was passed over for a woman's scholarship that she qualified for but was instead given to a man, and to whoever was physically injured on the field by a male athlete.
School officials whose trans policies led to women being sexually assaulted should be immediately terminated, and if possible, legally prosecuted for endangerment. Criminal charges should also be brought swiftly against threats and violent actions taken against female athletes, such as when Riley Gaines was assaulted and held hostage. If the neutered campus cops won't do their jobs, the feds need to step in.

Palm Sunday

With 'Nicole Ross.'

Cairo: The role of palm trees in different ancient civilisations was at the centre of a pavilion set up as part of a Riyadh fair on dates, a major Saudi product.

The just-ended World of Dates Exhibition 2024, organised by the Saudi National Palm and Dates Centre, showcased, among other things, how palm trees constituted an essential component of several cultures around the world.

A designated pavilion took visitors on a historical journey, dating back to thousands of years, highlighting the role of palm trees in promoting food and economic sustainability through various civilisations.

For example, the palm tree held a prominent place in the ancient Egyptian civilisation. Its symbols were used in inscriptions and murals reflecting its importance in daily life and religious rituals, reported Saudi news portal Sabq.
