The crew and pilots aboard the massive container ship that destroyed the Francis Scott Key Bridge weren’t under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

Nor was the ship running on contaminated fuel, which some experts postulated as a cause for the 984-foot Dali losing power twice as it approached the span in the early morning of March 26.

But the revelation from federal investigators that the Dali experienced two complete power outages about 10 hours before its ill-fated departure raised new questions about how the vessel’s crew responded to the electrical failures, who was informed of the blackouts — and whether the vessel should have set sail.

You expect ships to sail despite some mechanical issues (they're big objects lots of things to go wrong), but lack of power is pretty basic, and it seems like you'd want to get to the bottom of it before sailing again.

Did the FBI Stage the Jan. 6 Bombs?

But first, at Haut Hair Capt. Ed has some bad news for the reigning junta, a CNN poll: Majority of Dems reject Biden 2024. Why?  David Catron at Am Spec details How Biden and the Democrats Reignited Inflation, "Their wild spending created excess demand during a major supply chain disruption." Jazz Shaw at Haut Hair, reads The Hill: Here's the shocking thing Democrats can do to salvage Biden's presidency

Thus, with just nine months until the midterm elections, Democrats must dedicate their focus to advancing centrist legislation that improves Americans’ quality of life and addresses their top concerns. Democrats should make a meaningful effort to work with Republicans on issues where compromise is possible, and push back on pressure from the far-left, whose policy positions alienate large swaths of the electorate.

I think we can safely rule that out. Sauron's Eye reports Republicans still back Trump but don't want GOP to punish disloyalty - CBS News poll, Fake news. If you add two categories together, "Look for ways to punish them now" (10%) , and "Support GOP opponents in primaries" (42%), you do, in fact, find a majority trying to punish disloyalty. On Da Hill, Lindsey (1.0) Graham says Trump 'hurting his chances' at reelection by focusing on 2020. Maybe, but he was still robbed. AllahPundit at Haut Hair is pissed that a GOP senator hints: When we're back in the majority, we might require Biden to get an annual cognitive test "I do think it’d be funny, though, if a Republican House and Senate passed a bill ordering Biden to prove that he’s not a few cards short of a deck and then Biden had to decide whether to veto it. Tuesday Tune - Hate

Moriah Formica
New Band PLUSH Aims To Bring All-Girl Rock Back To Forefront Of Music Industry
PLUSH is an all-female rock band with a mission — to bring an all-girl rock band back to the forefront of the music industry.

PLUSH is composed of four talented musicians, all under the age of 21, whose accomplishments and talent eclipse their age. This female rock force is fronted by singer/guitarist Moriah Formica, drummer Brooke Colucci, lead guitarist Bella Perron and bassist Ashley Suppa.
Brooke Colucci

Moriah skyrocketed to national recognition when she appeared on NBC's "The Voice". Miley Cyrus referred to her as a "rock goddess." Brooke, also known by her moniker Rock Angel, has even earned a nod from John Lennon's official Facebook page, as she built her social media empire. Together, Moriah and Brooke have over 28 million views on their videos across social media platforms in 2020.
Bella Perron

Bella is a freshman at Berklee College Of Music and a guitar virtuoso. She adds to the band's ferocious melodies with amazing backing vocals and a no-holds-barred brand of uncompromising leads. Ashley adds an undeniable bass undertow to PLUSH's sound. She has been noticed by Ace Frehley (KISS), who requested her skills on backing vocals for his "Anomaly" solo album.

Ashley Suppa

PLUSH's first single, "Hate", drops on all digital platforms February 9 via Pavement Entertainment. The song is very personal for Moriah. She says: "It's about somebody who broke my heart in a very bad way. I was just so angry and sad, but I couldn't bring myself to actually say 'I hated you' to that person, because the truth is I really, really loved that person, and I just hated that I loved them."

More on WuFlu for You

Time to get rid of some links.

On the general topic of the WuFlu, A study suggests Coronavirus symptoms tend to begin in certain order: Fever first, then cough, muscle pain. Which might help tell the WuFlu from the ordinary flu, but given the variations in symptoms, just get tested. Except that Forty percent of U.S. Covid-19 tests come back too late to be clinically meaningful, data show. A study from Johns Hopkins from Da Sun reports that Cover your nose: Johns Hopkins research suggests that’s how coronavirus gains foothold, but Sweden’s disease expert says just wearing face masks could be ‘very dangerous’ (NYPo), yeah, but what do those Swedes know?
He noted that countries with widespread mask compliance, such as Belgium and Spain, were still seeing rising virus rates.

“Face masks can be a complement to other things when other things are safely in place,” he said. “But to start with having face masks and then think you can crowd your buses or your shopping malls — that’s definitely a mistake.
Also,  Air-conditioned rooms help spread COVID-19, research shows (NYPo). You're not going to talk me out of my air conditioning that easily. From the Lancet, via WUWT, Early spread of COVID-19 appears far greater than initially reported.
“Even before we realized that COVID-19 was spreading, the data imply that there was at least one case of COVID-19 for every two cases of flu,” Meyers said. “Since we knew how widespread flu was at that time, we could reasonably determine the prevalence of COVID-19.”
I'm never fully convinced; there's been a lot of bad testing out there; too many false positives. I'm a skeptic. It's because I'm a scientist.

It’s about how, in the midst of a pandemic, thousands started earnestly hoping—before the science was really in—that a drug, one that might save lives at a comparatively low cost, would not actually do so. William M. Briggs, Statistician to the Stars, Coronavirus Update XXVII: The Central Fallacy of the Panic: Updates.

We come to the central fallacy of the coronadoom response. It is the belief the infection would not have spread and would not have killed, like all other pandemics throughout all human history have, if only the government were “allowed” to act. Mysterious political forces kept it from acting, which cost lives. Nature had nothing, or little, to do with the bug. Nature didn’t cause its spread, and Nature had no real responsibility in any deaths, and it is said with adamantine certainty that Nature could not and is not making the bug disappear (i.e. herd immunity). In a democracy, particularly a Godless matriarchal one, everything is political.

We know this is a fallacy because of both history and the results of various government responses. What can be shown (below) is that government actions have caused extra deaths, the UK being the most prominent case, but also New York and other states which crammed sick people into nursing homes.

Evolution in Action

Miley Cyrus Won’t Reproduce Until She’s Confident Her Kid Can ‘Live on an Earth with Fish’
Pop star turned Planned Parenthood activist Miley Cyrus will not consider having a child due to global warming-related anxiety, vowing not to reproduce until she is confident her offspring can “live on an earth with fish in the water.” (Fact check: fish currently exist in bodies of water all over the planet).
Shush! Forget it, she's rolling!
The “Mother’s Daughter” singer spoke at length to Elle and hit two of her go-to political topics: Feminism and climate change.

Cyrus tied the two topics together, assigning the female gender to the planet and warning against mankind’s destruction of it.

“When she’s angry, don’t fuck with her,” Cyrus said. “That’s the way that I feel women are like right now. The earth is angry.”

The pop activist also revealed that she will not have kids until she feels like her child “would live on an earth with fish in the water.”

“We’ve been doing the same thing to the earth that we do to women,” she said, making another comparison to feminism.
Being female has been berry, berry good to Miley.
“We just take and take and expect it to keep producing. And it’s exhausted. It can’t produce. We’re getting handed a piece-of-shit planet, and I refuse to hand that down to my child,” the Grammy-winner continued. “Until I feel like my kid would live on an earth with fish in the water, I’m not bringing in another person to deal with that.
”

Millennials as a whole, Cyrus claimed, feel the same way.

“We don’t want to reproduce because we know that the earth can’t handle it,” she said.
When you consider the carbon foot print of her tours and shows, it's probably a good thing she won't reproduce. Until she reduces that to zero, and not by buying some of Al Gore's imaginary carbon offsets, I don't want to hear from her.

If it was that bad, you'd think she'd be afraid of the ocean, right?

Another Great Moment in Climate Hypocrisy

Miley Cyrus gave a dire warning to fans on Friday when she closed out a concert with an expletive-laden rant to fans about the importance of taking action against climate change.

iHeart Radio reports that as the singer finished her performance at the 2019 Tinderbox Festival in Odense, Denmark, she launched into a rant criticizing the U.S. for not doing enough to protect LGBT people. After dismissing how she “might offend some people by calling my country sh*tty,” she began calling for her audience to get politically active.
But what if they don't approve of your politics?

“The youth, this generation, we are the last f*cking hope on this dying f*cking planet,” Cyrus proclaimed. “I don’t like there’s more f*cking trash in the water than living f*cking animals that deserve to be there, that have nowhere else to go.”

Cyrus concluded with “and by the f*cking way, we don’t have anywhere to f*cking go, either! There’s no planet B, so don’t f*ck it up!”

I wasn't able to find any information on her recent tour or her upcoming one, but her Wonder World Tour in 2009 required
124 traveling workers, 19 truckloads of equipment, and 15 buses. The stage was quite different from that of the Best of Both Worlds Tour. It consisted of a rectangular main stage, which featured staircases that elevated the center of the stage, and a narrow runway, which connected the main stage to a B-stage that ran the length of the main stage

Regarding the stage, Cyrus noted that it was "something not many people get to have. I'm able to move around to each side so there's no one person who feels like they don't have the best seat. Every seat is the best seat." Six LED multi-screen video units were located throughout the stage; the three largest were placed as the upstage wall, while the other three were hung by rigs above the stage. The center unit consisted of three screens that faced outward; two others were hung right and left to the center unit, both were double faced toward the center of the venue at a 45° angle, while the backside faced the upper-seat audience. The structure of the video panels was designed by Sims to ensure that all seats within the 270° angle at each venue received an equal view of the video screens.
No carbon footprint there!

Now, I don't really mind her employing a slew of wanna be musician, as well as truck drivers, fossil fuel producers, and electrical workers, but I'll be damned if I'm going to let her make me feel guilty about my carbon footprint.

Besides, if global warming gets too bad, Miley already has the ideal outfit (NSFW link).

Modern Madness

From Stacy McCain: Madness Takes Its Toll
After a week spent focusing on politics at CPAC, permit me now to return to the insanity enveloping our culture:

Liam Hemsworth recently married Miley Cyrus, a decision he will regret “but once and that will be continually.” The new Mrs. Hemsworth, 26, is featured in the latest Vanity Fair:

Miley Cyrus may be in a heterosexual relationship with husband Liam Hemsworth, but she still identifies herself as a queer person — and sees their marriage as an opportunity to change how people view love, gender, and sexuality.
In a wide-ranging interview and a personal essay for Vanity Fair‘s March cover story, the music star got candid about why she and Hemsworth tied the knot in December, and how it hasn’t shifted her place in the LGBTQ+ community.
“The reason that people get married sometimes can be old-fashioned, but I think the reason we got married isn’t old-fashioned — I actually think it’s kind of New Age,” Cyrus, 26, said. “We’re redefining, to be f—ing frank, what it looks like for someone that’s a queer person like myself to be in a hetero relationship.”

“A big part of my pride and my identity is being a queer person . . . What I preach is: People fall in love with people, not gender, not looks, not whatever. What I’m in love with exists on almost a spiritual level. It has nothing to do with sexuality. Relationships and partnerships in a new generation — I don’t think they have so much to do with sexuality or gender. Sex is actually a small part, and gender is a very small, almost irrelevant part of relationships.” . . .
Cyrus took inspiration from her “favorite woman in the world, Hillary Clinton” and realized that she and Hemsworth were “stronger together.” . . .
Cyrus also penned a personal essay for Vanity Fair, talking more about her queerness there.
“Being someone who takes such pride in individuality and freedom, and being a proud member of the LGBTQ+ community, I’ve been inspired by redefining again what a relationship in this generation looks like,” she said. “Sexuality and gender identity are completely separate from partnership.”

The word for this is crazy. And if you recall how Johnny Depp was more or less destroyed by her marriage to Amber Heard, it is not difficult to predict what Miley Cyrus will likely do to Liam Hemsworth. In a society warped by feminist ideology, however, the common belief is that women are universally victims of male oppression, which means that as soon as the Cyrus-Hemsworth marriage collapses, it is his reputation that will be destroyed by accusations of abuse, etc. Meanwhile . . .

I don't know if Miley is really LGBTQRSTUVWXYZ or whether she's merely addicted to notoriety, and it's getting harder and harder to achieve. She might try supporting Trump; that ought to do it.
