Beach Report for July 4, 2023

A pretty nice July 4 at the beach. The skies were mostly cloudy, enough to keep the temperatures in the high 70s to low 80s, not a lot of wind, and hence not a lot of wave action, except ship wakes. Yesterday was too hot for Skye, but today was OKish.
Not unexpectedly, the beach was busy, especially up on Matoaka, which gets a lot of vacation day traffic.
A decent day for fossils, 18 teeth between us. The best tooth was the Cow Shark here. The chunk at the top is likely a Fragolodon (fragment of a Megalodon), it's awfully thick for anything else, but it lacks serrations on the edge, which may have worn off. The long thing is a better than usual piece of sting ray barb.
