A pretty decent low tide, but lots of sand led to a middling haul of fossils, 22 teeth.
An odd one from Calvert Beach. I thought it was a broken dolphin tooth, but if so, it's like none I've ever seen. It's laterally compressed, and the broken root shows that it's hollow. I thought (hoped) it might be a Squalodon tooth.
I ran into Paul Murdoch, though, and he suggested it might be a seal incisor, or even a peccary tooth.
