Flotsam and Jetsam - Iran 'Kinetic Action' Reheating

For lack of anything else new and exciting, the revived Iran conflict gets top billing. Ace, After Iran Downs Apache Helicopter, Trump Threatens New Round of Airstrikes "Is he serious this time or is it more, you know, twitter bullshit?" At Althouse, "If we need to negotiate with bombs, we’ll negotiate with bombs. And we’re very good at it. Nobody better in the world." "Said Pete Hegseth, quoted in "Iran War Live Updates: U.S. Will Strike Iran Again Tonight, Hegseth Says/The secretary of defense, Pete Hegseth, said a new American attack would be launched on Wednesday night. Earlier, President Trump said more attacks were coming, a day after he predicted peace" (NYT)." And Trump posts a "West Wing" clip decrying the notion of a "proportional response." Capt. Ed at Hat Hair hears Trump say to Iran: Bridge and Power Day May Be Back, Baby; UPDATE: On Like Donkey Kong? Airstrikes starting against radar and other air defense type sites, like they're getting ready for a big air operation. From the Scuttlebutt, Pardon, Your Bias is Showing. How the media always stops the chain of causation on the US, particularly if they can blame Trump.

Sundance at CTH reports President Trump Signs the Secure America Act. Ace, Trump Signs Bill to Fund DHS and ICE Throughout the Rest of His Term, "The 80-day long (IIRC) Democrat shutdown resulted in chaos and disruption but ultimately failed. They're the party of chaos and disruption, riots and "teen takeovers," subway knife attacks and women having their throats slashed open by infinitely-indulged homeless maniacs." Sundance also notes President Trump Delivers Shocking Response to Question About USMCA Renewal "President Donald Trump responded to a question about the current status of the USMCA trade agreement, or what Canada calls CUSMA. Watch and listen to how President Trump points out that he has no intention of renewing the USMCA." unseen1 @unseen1_unseen, "Like Tillis, this idiot admits he lied to voters for the last 10 years." Quote The Calvin Coolidge Project @TheCalvinCooli1, "New: Texas Republican Senator John Cornyn tells CNN’s Manu Raju that he has much more freedom to go against President Trump now: “Are you kidding? Right over Left Everytime @RightSide_Uk, "Elon Musk just exposed the EU’s biggest lie. Ursula von der Leyen was lecturing about “democracy” when Musk hit her with the truth: “If democracy is the foundation of freedom, surely your position as leader of the EU should be elected directly by the people?” The EU is run by unelected bureaucrats who impose mass migration, net zero madness and speech controls on 450 million people — with zero accountability. This isn’t democracy. It’s a dictatorship in slow motion. The people are waking up. The EU’s days are numbered."

TownHall's Scott McLallen hears a Democrat Calls Republicans Fascists, Wishes He Could 'Run Over' Trump at Congressional Baseball Game. At Althouse a Great catch, by U.S. Senator Eric Schmitt. Eric Schmitt @Eric_Schmitt, "Left it all on the field. Republicans win 11-2 Honored to be named MVP."

Hat Hair's John Sexton notices Politico's Senior Political Columnist is Clueless. Jonathan Martin @jmart, "The most interesting part about this is not the actual rehab, which is fine and in some cases needed, it’s the impulse to be for whatever Trump is for. His passion is renovation and buildings and grounds? OK that’s what we’re into, also" Quote Steve Guest @SteveGuest, "It’s undeniable: President Trump improved the Reflecting Pool ahead of America’s 250th by light-years. Anyone who denies that fact has an incurable case of TDS." "So the story here is not that people adopt whatever Trump likes. The story is that the media automatically attacks whatever he does. But Martin can't see it." At Althouse, Can we not all love the new pool? Howard Lutnick @howardlutnick, "I stopped by the new Reflecting Pool. It is simply glorious. There were a thousand people, everywhere, taking pictures and just enjoying its beauty. Thank you President Trump for restoring our city’s national treasure." No, we must hate it, because Trump!

They can’t run to the left of Collins, not really. So maybe they want to run to the RIGHT of Collins, and since these idiots ACTUALLY BELIEVE we are all actual Nazis, maybe they saw Platner as the ideal candidate. Because they are stupidly brainwashed. Just a theory…" Nick Arama at RedState thinks Platner's Reply When Asked If More Might Be Coming Should Worry Dems. At Fox, Platner’s ‘living on the sea’ claim dismantled by critics as financial docs paint a different picture. "Platner's disclosures show he earned little from oyster farming and harbor duties versus $4,800 monthly in disability." Twitchy, 'Scum Attracts Scum': Data Republican Delivers a Truth Bomb Ratio to Graham Platner. DataRepublican (small r) @DataRepublican, "Hello Mr. Platner, Ratio. That's it. That's the whole rebuttal. You are someone who, by the virtue of his Reddit posts, manages to be simultaneously a filthy-literal-Communist and anti-Semite. That in itself is an egregious sin, because literal, card-carrying Communists are fundamentally at odds with America's norms. But if that weren't enough, you have voluminous Reddit posts defending the Nazi Totenkopf symbol. You clearly knew the tattoo you got and you defended it publicly. There's no either/or way about it. Scum attracts scum. Which is why you can comfortably swim in both literal-Communist and literal-antisemitic far-right circles. I am no fan of Sue Collins. At SpliceToday, Mark Judge want to know Will NPR Reported David Folkenflik Do His Job on Platner? Not very likely. Nick Arama likes Trump's Surprising, Hilarious Endorsement of Maine Senate Candidate ""She does because she's a sane woman. She's not my best friend at all," Trump said. "But she's a sane person. She's a person that's never missed a vote in many years. I mean, she's like 10,000 votes. She had 10,000 votes. She never missed a vote. Unfortunately, because sometimes she voted against me! Flotsam and Jetsam - Did Democrats Set Zelenskyy Up to Fail?

Stacy McCain, Ain’t I Done Told Y’all? Democrats Pushed Zelenskyy to Sabotage White House Deal. "Note the time and date on that, please — shortly after 5 p.m. ET on Friday, I shared my suspicion that the real reason why that White House meeting with Volodymyr Zelenskyy turned into a s***show was that Zelenskyy had been encouraged by Democrats to “pull that stunt,” and now my hunch has been validated . . ." Phil Holloway @PhilHollowayEsq, "Oh … the democrats sabotaged it I’m shocked. Shocked! “Before meeting Trump, Zelensky met with anti-Trump Democrats who advised him to reject the terms of the mineral deal the president was offering, according to Sen. "Biden had barely finished telling Zelenskyy he’d just greenlighted another $1 billion in U.S. military assistance for Ukraine when Zelenskyy started listing all the additional help he needed and wasn’t getting. Biden lost his temper, the people familiar with the call said. The American people were being quite generous, and his administration and the U.S. military were working hard to help Ukraine, he said, raising his voice, and Zelenskyy could show a little more gratitude." Baker continues: "Perhaps history will not note this as an important moment. I noted it." Yes, the re-listen affected me. I felt that Zelensky was hoping to get under the young Vice President's skin and cause him to take it personally and react childishly. Maryland, My Maryland

Balmer Sun, After child’s bounce house death, Southern Maryland Blue Crabs issued over $4K in citations, sued by parents. Not real crabs, a local minor league baseball team.

The company that owns the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs was issued over $4,000 in citations last month by labor regulators who alleged that the club’s employees failed to properly secure a bounce house last August when wind swept the inflatable away, killing a child and injuring another.

The citations issued Jan. 31 come alongside a negligence lawsuit filed by the family of the 5-year-old who died, Declan Hicks, against the Waldorf-based minor league baseball team and the manufacturer of the bounce house.

The Maryland Department of Labor released the preliminary citations last week in response to a public records request from The Baltimore Sun but had not released its full investigative file, which was also requested.

The citations from the Labor Department’s Safety Inspection Unit accuse the Blue Crabs’ owners, Crabs on Deck LLC, of:
  • Failing to follow restrictions on wind speeds.
  • Only anchoring the bounce house using four of its eight tether points.
  • Failing to properly train staff who operated the bounce house.
Winds swept the bounce house 20 feet into the air during the bottom of the sixth inning as the Blue Crabs hosted the York Revolution on the evening of Aug. 2, and the children inside fell to the field as the amusement landed.

Hicks, of La Plata, dropped 20 to 30 feet onto the field, according to his family’s lawsuit. He was taken to Children’s Hospital, where he died. Another child was airlifted after suffering non-life-threatening injuries.
. . .
The amusement’s manufacturer, Inflatable Design Group, had included in its specifications that the bounce house should not be operated if the wind speed exceeds 15 mph, the citations say. The National Weather Service measured steady winds of 15 mph, with gusts in the low 20s, near Regency Furniture Stadium that evening.

The Hicks family’s lawsuit, which names the inflatable firm as a defendant, notes that the manufacturer’s instructions were “unclear”; they say to “take down the inflatable in winds up to 15 MPH” but don’t explain what that means or why it’s necessary.

The lawsuit says that wind-related dangers were “known for many years” by the inflatable amusement industry. The suit alleges that the bounce house was defective and “unreasonably dangerous,” not including technology that would have made the amusement safer.

The suit says that that Blue Crabs’ staff was ultimately responsible for safely operating the bounce house and that the company should have understood those risks, as the same bounce house, or a similar one, had been blown onto the field during a Charles County Youth League event “several years” prior to Hicks’ death.

I'm surprised there's not a criminal charge in there somewhere.

Wednesday night, thousands of fans were at the Baltimore Orioles vs. Cleveland Guardians game at Camden Yards, just minding their business and enjoying the ol’ ball game.

But leftists must ruin everything. Three activists started waving “Free Palestine” flags right behind home plate, completely ruining the enjoyment of sport for everyone.

Here’s a clip of these idiots in action:
Not exactly what you want to see at a ballpark for a variety of reasons, not the least of which is because Palestine is the home of Hamas, one of the most brutal terrorist organizations in that part of the world.

Thankfully, two things happened right as the activists started their moronic demonstration.

The first is that most - if not all - of the fans around the protestors started booing and jeering them. Good for the fans, as they showed that they have a solid amount of common sense.

Second, the pro-Hamas demonstrators were removed from the stadium by security, and the fans were allowed to resume enjoying the game in peace. Ivy League schools should take notes on how to deal with these whack jobs.

Rare, good news from Baltimore.

Flotsam and Jetsam - $30M for 'The Big Guy'?

But first, PJM's Matt Margolis with yesterday's news, FBI Source: Bidens ‘Coerced’ Burisma Exec to Pay $10 Million in Bribes. But wait, there's more! The Biden family is getting hit by an unlikely source as a former official in the Obama administration has come forward to allege that then-Vice President Joe Biden was involved in a “kickback scheme” with his son Hunter Biden’s overseas business dealings.

Mike McCormick, who served as a stenographer for 15 years in the White House said that the FBI has been ignoring him even though he is willing to testify under oath before the federal grand jury investigating Biden’s son.

“In February, I went to the FBI and filed one of their tips on their website. If you do that, and you’re lying to them, you go to jail. I’m not lying. I’m telling the truth, and I’m not going to jail,” he said. “Joe Biden is a criminal. He was conducting malfeasance in office to enrich his family. Jake Sullivan is a conspirator in that, and there’s more… Obama officials involved in it, I believe.”

The Election Post - Virginia Running Hot

The Virginia gubernator election is almost upon us, and I can hardly wait to get back to Geico and Progressive insurance ads on TV. It's especially bad here because, while we don't get to vote, we're still in the splash zone for the media coverage. Stacy McCain feels the the same, Virginia, Brace Yourselves

The best way to react to this is to ignore it. Just go vote, and encourage your neighbors to do the same, and do your best to tune out the frantic chatter from the desperate Democrats. Read a book. Watch a movie. Do whatever it takes to calm your mind amid the campaign madness.
At They Daley Gator, in Virginia, the center of everything political………… Doug echoes that:
Solid advice my friends. I used to REALLY get into looking at polls, national averages of polls, etc. It only served to stress me out, and, did not one thing to change any results. In short, the stress IS NOT worth it.

From The Morning Rant at Aces,

This is very depressing. Because we're not going to win. And if we do win, we'll still lose.

The seeds of our defeat can be seen in the difference between how the Left and Right view politics. The Right wants to do politics and be done with it so they can get on with life, while the Left wants to do politics all the time.

Haut Hair cites Michelle Cottle at the NYT on Why the Virginia election is freaking Democrats out. Because they think they own the seat and it would bode ill for other elections to lose. Newt Gingrich, on the Atlanta/Houston World Series, God Has a Sense of Humor – And Must Like Baseball
Remember when the woke left decided to punish all of Georgia for passing election reform? They forced Major League Baseball to move the All-Star Game out of Atlanta, which cost Georgia businesses an estimated $100 million in revenue. The hit was especially hard on Black owned small businesses, which were just recovering from the COVID-19 shutdowns. The power of the woke, Big Government Socialists is such that even Sen. Raphael Warnock favored moving the game and hurting his own constituents.

According to the leftwing Puritans, Georgia had been defined as an evil state. President Joe Biden lied consistently about the Georgia election law, and Democrats were overjoyed at the opportunity to smear Georgia (the state which produced civil rights icons such as Rev. Martin Luther King Jr., Mayor Andrew Young, and Congressman John Lewis).

Possibly the only state which rivaled Georgia in incurring the loathing and fear of the rabid left was Texas. Its pro-gun, pro-life, low tax, secure borders, pro-work mentality assaulted virtually every sensitivity of the Big Government Socialists. From their Ivy League and West Coast bastions, they had always despised Texans on the general principle that Texans were not adequately sensitive and liberal.

What a wonderful irony that God decided to give the Big Government Socialists the spectacle of the Atlanta Braves playing the Houston Astros in the World Series.
