Cold. The "Inaugural" cold wave bottomed out last night, with our weather station reporting a low of 13.5 F early this morning. It was cold enough that the water near the beach started freezing. There was a band of frozen water near the shoreline of frozen water. Out further, there was pancake and slush ice, which makes a neat sound in the minor waves.
I had good clothes on, so it wasn't too bad, but my face was cold. Shark's tooth hunting was tough, I settled for a single small hastalis tooth.
Although today should be the coldest day, forecasts don't predict weather above freezing until Friday. It will be interesting to see how extensive the ice gets.
