Flotsam and Jetsam - Just Waiting on the Snow

The Weather Underground is currently predicting it to start snowing tonight about 9 PM, and continue through Monday, for a total of around 10 inches. If it happens, that will be the first significant snow we've had here for several years. Enough that it will be a PIA getting it off the driveway. After a brief excursion to around 36 F, temperatures are supposed to drop below freezing until next Saturday. Oh goody.

Sundance at CTH reports Washington DC Will Retain Flags at Half Mast During President Trump Inauguration, nominally in honor of Jimmy Carter, but in reality, just to piss off Donald Trump. If they could get away with it, they'd fly them at half mast through his whole presidency.

At Althouse, "A dramatic political realignment of the two major parties on foreign and economic policy has Republicans leading the charge on a variety of issue stances that Sanders-style progressives and labor unions continue to support..." ""... even as corporatist Democratic voters abandon them. I can make a strained argument for Hillary, who was first lady, Senator and SecState, but Soros? All he did was give you a ton of money.    From Althouse,  Liz Cheney looks so uncomfortable receiving this medal from President Biden. "I like the way he gives it to her, then pulls it away, and she lets him and waits for him to get around to handing it back.
