Aging Actress complains about ageism, sexism: Geena Davis Reveals Male Star Called Her ‘Too Old’ To Play His Love Interest – ‘I Was 20 Years Younger’ A Victoria Secret model before that was cool, and before it became uncool again.

Hollywood star Geena Davis of Thelma And Louise fame has long been someone who advocates for women, particularly as they age.

In a new interview in which she opened up about ageism in Hollywood, Davis revealed that she was once denied a role because the unnamed leading actor said that she was “too old” to play his love interest, even though she was two decades younger than him.

“It’s very strange and so prevalent,” Davis explained, according to Fox News. “A certain male actor that was making a movie said that I was too old to be his romantic interest, and I was 20 years younger than him.”

“Women peak in their 20s and 30s, and men peak in their 40s and 50s as far as actors go,” the 65 year-old actress added. “So the male stars of the movies want to appear to be younger than they are, or they want to appeal to younger people, so they always want a co-star who is really young.”

“That is why that happens and that is why women don’t get cast very much after 40 and 50. It is because they are felt to be too old to be a romantic interest,” Davis concluded.

I don't have much sympathy for actors who discover that age comes for all, and resent it.

Former Miss Universe Olivia Culpo was asked to cover up before a flight with American Airlines, according to the 29-year-old’s sister Aurora Culpo.

Aurora’s Instagram stories reportedly show the girls at an airport before their flight to Cabo San Lucas on Thursday, following the incident. Olivia, dressed in a bralette, bike shorts, and a long cardigan, was apparently told by an airline employee to “put a blouse on.”

Aurora called the employee’s actions “f***ed up” and said her sister’s clothing was not “inappropriate” or “offensive.”

 

“Look at her outfit. She looks cute. She looks appropriate,” Aurora said in the video. “They call her up to the desk and tell her that she needs to put a blouse on, otherwise she can’t get on the plane. Tell me is that not so f***ed up.”

In the video clip, Olivia complies, covering up with a grey hoodie “while comparing her original outfit to another passenger in a similar look,” Page Six reported.


The other passenger, a woman also wearing a bra, is seen shrugging her shoulders over her admittedly revealing top. “That’s weird,” she said of American Airlines’ apparent request to Olivia.

Olivia re-posted Aurora’s Instagram posts to her own account with the caption, “Leave it to Aurora to cause a scene. Hide me.”

Fox Business, Heidi Klum talks $2M insurance policy on legs: 'It's weird' The 'AGT' judge said one leg is insured for more than the other

The 48-year-old model is known for her striking good looks, her fashion sense and her seemingly never-ending legs.

During an appearance on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" on Monday, the "America's Got Talent" judge revealed what led to her legs being insured for several million dollars.

 

 

Klum was playing a fill-in-the-blank-style game when DeGeneres prompted her to talk about the insurance policy and to share which uninsured body part should be insured – she indicated that her breasts should have a policy taken out on them.


"I didn't insure them, by the way," the star said in reference to her legs. "It was a client that insured them. It wasn't me."

The ordeal was made even more complicated as one leg was insured for more than the other, Klum revealed.

"One was actually more expensive than the other because when I was young, I fell into a glass and I have a big scar," she recalled. "Obviously, I put so much spray tan on right now, you can't see it right now."

Worth every penny.

An Early Epstein Incident

Actress Reported Epstein To Police For Sexual Battery In 1997 But Nothing Came Of It

Alicia Arden is an actress and model who was one of the first women to formally accuse Jeffrey Epstein of sexual misconduct. Twenty-two years ago, Arden, who had appeared in Baywatch, was told by someone she knew that Jeffrey Epstein could help her land a gig as a Victoria Secret model. She sent a modeling portfolio to Epstein in New York and he called her and asked to meet her at a beachfront hotel in Santa Monica, California. What happened next won’t surprise anyone:

When she showed up, she found Epstein barefoot and clad in sweat pants and a T-shirt with USA on the front. He started criticizing her figure and asked her to come close to him so he could evaluate it, according to accounts Arden gave in interviews with the AP and in her police report.
Epstein then asked her to undress and assisted in pulling her top off and skirt up, saying, “Let me manhandle you for a second” as he began groping her buttocks.
Arden said she pushed his hands away and left.

In 1997 she would have been 28 years old; just a tad out of Epstein's target demographic.

Arden says Epstein followed her outside and offered her a $100 bill. She rejected it at first but then accepted it because she said she needed gas for her car. However, the day after leaving the hotel, Arden decided to go to the police. But her initial attempt to file a report didn’t go well:

$100?  That was worth at least $150!

A male detective noted that she had willingly gone to Epstein’s room — though she emphasized the purpose was business, she said. She remembered the detective suggesting she think about whether she really wanted to file a report.
She left, crying on the phone to a friend that she wished she could talk to a female police officer.
“I felt like I was being blamed,” she said.

That might have been the end of it but a week later Arden returned to the police station, met with the same detective, and filed a report about the incident. The 1997 police report spells out what Arden says happened in the hotel. And that’s where the story gets a bit squirrely. Because according to Arden she never heard back from the police.

I'm never surprised when interactions with the cops turn squirrelly.

The Associated Press asked the Santa Monica police department to provide a summary of the investigator’s notes on the case from back in 1997. According to those notes, police did interview Epstein about the incident at the hotel. However, they claim the case was closed because Arden told them she didn’t want to press charges:

The notes showed that Epstein was questioned soon after Arden’s complaint and gave a conflicting statement. Most notably, the detective wrote that Arden did not want to press charges against Epstein but wanted him warned about his behavior, an assertion that she strongly denies…
Contacted this past week, Arden was adamant that she did not, in any way, communicate to the police that she did not want to press charges. She was outraged to hear that the police say otherwise.
“The fact that they didn’t do anything, and they discredited me, is just a stab to my heart,” Arden said.

So there you have it. The police claim Arden didn’t want to press charges. Arden denies that and claims she never heard back from police. What’s clear is that Epstein’s 1997 brush with the law once again seems to have miraculously worked out in his favor.

It's not exactly a late hit, since she did go to the police in 1997, but  this does seem to come just in time to inflate a flagging career. I can't imagine she expects to get much out of the Epstein estate.

Raica Oliveira (born January 22, 1984) is a Brazilian model known for her work with numerous companies, including Emanuel Ungaro, Dior, Dolce & Gabbana, Yves Saint Laurent, Vogue, Chanel, Lancôme, Victoria's Secret, blah, blah blah.

Oliveira was born in Niterói, Brazil, the youngest of three children. She has two brothers: Givago (an economist) and Pablo (a lawyer). She graduated from the Sao Vicente de Paula school in Niteroi.

In 1999, Oliveira entered the Elite Model Look contest in Brazil and beat 30,000 girls for the top prize. Raica Oliveira is a vegetarian and she has stated she has been one her whole life and doesn't feel the urge to eat animal meat. Oliveira speaks Portuguese, English, French, Spanish and Italian. She loves animals. She has eight dogs in her home town . Raica has six tattoos and plans to study philosophy at a university when she retires.

With the fall of Fall it's time to consider whether or not we will choose a girl to represent to summer of 2017. And the answer is yes!

It seems like Gigi's darker little sister, Bella Hadid, was everywhere this year. Isabella Khair Hadid is an American fashion model, signed to IMG Models in 2014. In December 2016, the Industry voted her "Model of the Year" for Model.com's Model of the Year 2016 Awards.

Hadid and her siblings were originally raised on a ranch in Santa Barbara, California for ten years. As a teenager, Hadid was an equestrian and had dreams of attending the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro but had to give up competing in 2013 due to her suffering from chronic Lyme disease. It was not announced that she suffered from chronic Lyme until October 2015. She was diagnosed, along with her mother and brother, with the chronic illness in 2012.

This week's Rule 5 selection is Samatha Hoopes, just because why not?

Samantha Hoopes (born February 10, 1991) is an American model, best known for appearing in Carl's Jr. and Hardee's Most American Thickburger advertisement and the Sports Illustrated's 50th Anniversary Swimsuit issue in 2014.

Hoopes was born in Doylestown, Pennsylvania. She is the youngest of five sisters. She went to Barbizon Performing Arts Academy studying modeling and acting. She then attended Penn State University and majored in business after changing her major from kinesiology.

My life has changed pretty drastically. People that I’ve looked up to forever will find me on Twitter, or I’ll have a model try to set me up with another famous person. Did you ever think modeling could be a full-time career?

No, I never thought I could actually become a model and make a living at it. I always thought I would end up being a housewife. I was going to school to be a gym teacher for a little bit. This is just incredible.

It took a while for Sports Illustrated to fully convert from exclusive Muhammed Ali cover stories to foreign lingerie models barely covered in Costa Rican hooker thongs, but the eagle had landed. If you'd have told me SI would be a prime spank bank magazine even a few years ago, I would have agreed that I haven't read their sports coverage in years, but I doubt they'd be a sticky page periodical. They've arrived.

SI's swimsuit coverage is a euphemism for topless chicks missing nipples; it now forms the backbone of SI's content offering. This is not a complaint. This is a compliment. We have too many sports media outlets while it's impossible to have too many cheesecake outlets. I have seventeen go-to sites for my NFL needs. Not as many producing original content of Leo DiCaprio's latest European girlfriend grabbing her own tits. Is that a patch of chain mail over your snatch? Yes, that's a sports question. Time Life's lawyers will sue you if you call it porn.
