Flotsam and Jetsam - LA Burning

Again. I grew up in LA during the era of the Watt's riots. It never affect us out in the Cheviot Hills region, and I fully expect most of LA remains untouched. It's a very large city. At PJM Stephen Kruiser notes Los Angeles Is What Happens When the Democrats Are Left in Charge and Cathy Salgado looks at the The L.A. Riots and Remembers the Democrats’ Long History of Political Violence, Matt Margolis sees Democrats MELT DOWN After Trump Federalizes National Guard to Stop Riots and Here’s Why Trump Had No Choice But to Step in and Stop the Riots and Sarah Anderson asks Is Donald Trump the Only Adult in the Room? Here's What He's Really Doing in L.A.. Becca Lower at RedState What If the National Guard Can't Quell the L.A. Rioting? SecDef Hegseth Has an Answer. At Insty, SO HOW’S THAT RIOT STUFF WORKIN’ OUT FOR YA? Note the bump from just last week. Rasmussen Reports @Rasmussen_Poll, "Good Morning ! Overnight Trump presidential job approval number is in. Sunday Night - LA Riot Weekend - 54.49%."  From Fox, Immigration authorities highlight criminal history of multiple migrants arrested in Los Angeles "Federal sources highlighted some of last week's arrests in the Los Angeles area, which included violent and drug offenders."  TownHall's Kurt Schlichter thinks The LA Chaos Is an Illusion and Trump Will Not Fall for It. Kurt Schlichter @KurtSchlichter "Not long. And here is where the President should seriously consider, ignoring the courts." Quote Varad Mehta @varadmehta, "How long before a "resistance" judge in California issues an order stopping Trump from calling out the National Guard?" Brandon Straka #WalkAway @BrandonStraka "Rioters in LA are burning cars and circling the flames waving Mexican flags. They’re living in America, but hate everything this country stands for." Stephen Miller @StephenM "A rioter flying a foreign flag to block ICE deportations. The symbol of the Democrat party." Quote Fox News @FoxNews "Man with a Mexican flag circles a burning car during anti-ICE unrest in Los Angeles as President @realDonaldTrump demands Democratic leaders get the situation under control." Stephen L. Miller@redsteeze "And Trump could not have asked for better political optics than masked dudes setting cars on fire while waving Mexico's flag. And that's why the media is out in full force attempting to downplay this.  Quote, "CBS News Poll @CBSNewsPoll "Views of the Trump administration's deportation program headed into this weekend with positive net approval from Americans, including continued strong backing from the Republican base. (The survey was completed just prior to Saturday's protests and events in Los Angeles.)" Paula Bolyard at PJM, WATCH: The Shirtless Psycho in a Minivan at the L.A. Riots. A shirtless psycho in LA? Whoda thunk?   Batya Ungar-Sargon @bungarsargon "This is a test for the Democratic Party. Will they stand up for this nation, its people, its borders, and its laws, or will they continue to Je Suis Kilmar Obrego/Mahmoud Khalil their way into political oblivion. I truly hope they choose wisely. I sadly doubt they will." TownHall's Matt Vespa reports Terrorist Chants Heard During LA Riots. Insty says WE NEED TO COMPLETE THE RED, WHITE, AND BLUE COLOR REVOLUTION: DataRepublican (small r) @DataRepublican, "The use of Mexican flags is not accidental or ironic. Flags are an important part of engineered color revolutions." At the BugScuffle Gazette, You get the behaviour that you tolerate, "or encourage." PJM's Vicky Taft says 'Choose a Side, America.' Don Surber sees Fire and ICE "Democrats rioting will put California in play." Possible I suppose, but I won't go that far.  Roger Simon at America Refugees says Thank God I Left California ""Free Palestine" meets Mexico." Insty, THEY DROVE THE MODERATES OUT OF THE PARTY AND RACE-BAITING RADICALS ARE WHAT THEY HAVE LEFT: Auron MacIntyre @AuronMacintyre, "After Tump’s election the left has been reeling, desperately trying to find an issue to organize around The first thing they rallied to was a state-sponsored race riot."

Daniel Greenfield - "Hang Together or Separately"@Sultanknish "Newsom deployed police against people who wanted to walk on the beach or sit on a park bench during COVID." Quote Gavin Newsom @GavinNewsom "The Secretary of Defense is now threatening to deploy active-duty Marines on American soil against its own citizens. This is deranged behavior."  Insty say YES: Joel Kotkin: LA riots reflect failure of progressive leadership.
Collin Rugg @CollinRugg "California Democrat Rep. Nanette Barragán calls the Los Angeles riots "Peaceful Protests" on CNN while the network displays a literal car on fire. Barragán: "We have an administration that is targeting peaceful protests." Remarkable." Jarvis @jarvis_best "Last night was funny because the LAPD was issuing dueling official statements saying that ALL PROTESTS WERE PEACEFUL AND NOTHING BAD HAPPENED while simultaneously declaring unlawful assemblies and shooting people with tear gas. These statements went out AT THE SAME TIME." Twitchy, Obama. SHOCKER! DataRepublican DROPS Bombshell Thread on Who Karen Bass REALLY Is (Gets SOOO Much Worse). DataRepublican (small r) @DataRepublican " THREAD: Who really is Karen Bass? Most people know her as the Mayor of Los Angeles, and some remember her botched handling of this year's wildfire crisis. But there’s a lot more beneath the surface. Let’s dig in. . ." The Researcher @listen_2learn "Mary McCord worked with Norm Eisen for four years to put J6ers in prison. She is now giving advice to protestors for the upcoming summer of love activities. She also mentions that there will be attorneys on standby. Imagine the nerve it takes after she spent four years destroying the lives of over 1600 J6ers who were there for 1A protected protests. . . " Son of Dr. Spengler (unintentional self-parody) @spengjr "It’s worse than that. They enforce laws against the law abiding (e.g. arcane processes and regulations that prevent the rebuilding of homes that burned down) but not against violent predators." Quote Frank J. Fleming@IMAO_ "“We can’t enforce the laws — it’s too hard!” is not an acceptable answer to most Americans." Insty, LET’S MAKE THAT TAX 35 PERCENT: Wall Street Mav @WallStreetMav "Mexico’s president calling for protests in the USA: “If necessary, we’ll mobilize. We don’t want taxes on remittances from our fellow countrymen. From the U.S. to Mexico.” The bill going thru Congress would tax at 3.5% all money sent to Mexico."

Scott A. Meyers @ScottAMeyersLA "People are asking “who’s funding the violence?” Well, it’s you and I." Quote Jennifer Van Laar@jenvanlaar "READ THIS ENTIRE POST. The kicker: CHIRLA, the group behind the current rioting in LA, "received nearly $34 million in revenue from government contracts during the fiscal year ending June 30, 2023, with 96% of that funding from the State of CA." Jen Van Laar at RedState, Taxpayer-Funded Riots: Here's What We Found When We Followed the Money in Los Angeles. Sarah Hoyt at Insty says we are A COUNTRY SO GREAT WE FINANCE OUR ENEMIES: "Who’s behind the anti-ice riots in Los Angeles?" Andy Ngo @MrAndyNgo "If the political violence continues in Los Angeles, it will be used to galvanize and inspire far-left extremists and Antifa cells across the country to incite anti-government insurrections in different cities. What we are witnessing now is almost exactly what happened five years ago. The same networks and militants are involved. It is their same playbook." Roxanne Hoge @RoxanneHoge "This seems very insurrection-y." Quote Anthony @AnthonyCabassa_, "I’ve discovered pallets of cement bricks within striking distance of the ICE agents. There’s no other pallets around, some are in the back of the gate, but these are in front of the gate. I’m told protestors used these cement bricks to throw at ICE agents." IIRC there were prepositioned palates of bricks at some of the George Floyd "celebrations." Wokal Distance @wokal_distance "1/ The riots happening in LA are not organic or spontaneous. They're designed to look chaotic to cover up the fact that they're well funded, exceptionally organized, and carried out by well trained activists using intelligent, highly developed tactics. Here's a primer: . . . "

Matt Margolis says You Won’t Believe What the Media Is Saying About the Anti-ICE Riots and The Media Are Taking L.A. Riot Gaslighting to a Whole New Level. They're going with the "fiery but peaceful" theme again. Capt. Ed at Hat Hair, 'Mostly Peaceful' 2.0: Another Great Moment in Protection Racket Media. Bonchie @bonchieredstate, "Again, I ask, if they’ll lie about something this obvious, countering video evidence, what won’t they lie to you about? How did we get four years of lying about Joe Biden’s health? This is how. There are no limits." Quote Tom Elliott @tomselliott, "MSNBC’s @jheil: “Governor Newsom’s right; there wasn’t anything like a riot happening on Friday or Saturday”" jimtreacher.substack.com @jtLOL "Look at all the cars that AREN'T on fire," explained the professional journalist." Quote Brian Stelter @brianstelter, "This clip is for all my L.A. friends who texted me tonight saying things like "I'm sure you know this, but 99.9% of LA is going about their Sunday normally" Libs of TikTok @libsoftiktok "Waymo just suspended service in Los Angeles after leftist rioters torched their vehicles. But don’t worry, Gavin Newsom says he has it all under control and the media say it’s peaceful." Driscoll at Insty, As Jim Geraghty writes, in a lengthy Morning Jolt titled, “L.A. Burns, Again,” “Waymo driverless vehicles run on lithium-ion batteries. According to the company, a battery involved in a fire or exposed to high heat levels will release toxic vapors, including sulfuric acid, oxides of carbon, nickel, lithium, copper, and cobalt. Our brave new world of driverless cars now provides malevolent actors with mobile toxic bombs on demand.” Steve Guest @SteveGuest "WATCH: ABC News wants you to know what is happening in California isn’t a violent riot. It’s “just a bunch of people having fun watching cars burn.” — ABC 7’s Marc Brown." Otherwise called a riot. At RedState Ward Clark CNN's Disgrace: This Is What They Call Journalism? and Rusty Weis, ABC News Drops All-Time Insane Description of ‘Mostly Peaceful Protesters’ in Los Angeles. Tim Young @TimRunsHisMouth "A CNN commentator said the protests were “peaceful” and the production team had to rush to cut away from the video of a burning car… Why do they constantly clown themselves like this?" Insty says AW. THAT’S A SHAME. "NBC Has #BigSadz Admitting Trump Can Legally Send in the Guard. "Related: CBS Delivers Bad News To the Party of Riots on Deportations. Like affirmative action and trans rights, open borders is a policy that has always only been popular with elites, maintained by bullying and propaganda. Now that the bullying and propaganda have failed, reality is asserting itself."" Ace, Democrat-Media Party Insists Again That the Democrat Media Party Riots are Firey But Mostly Peaceful "They're insisting the city is "calm" and that the riots are "peaceful" as video of burning and even exploding cars plays."

Matt Vespa reports an ABC News Reporter Suspended After Suffering a Total Meltdown About Trump's Top Aide, "Terry Moran, a senior correspondent."
From NYPo, The US-Israel Gaza aid plan is working — which is why Hamas is spreading lies about it and Elon Musk body-checked Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent ‘like a rugby player’ during fiery clash at White House: report. I understand he wants to, and thinks he can, save the world. But that's not helping. Hat Hair's Stephen Moore reports Trump's Own Regulators Declare War on Coal and Its Investors. "Sounds like if Trump wants to make American coal great again, he might want to make a call to Ferguson and get him to cease and desist."

Bonchie at RedState hears Leaked Audio: Things Just Got a Lot Worse Over at the DNC. "Is Hogg now playing hardball in an attempt to unseat the head of the party apparatus after the two butted head? That's where my money is, and Democrats are so invested in their radical coalition that there's not much that can be done to stop this runaway train." Hat Hair's Betsy McCaughey looks at The Democrats' War on Small-Town Values and Property Values.

At Fox, Jonathan Turley writes Abrego Garcia returns to US for trial after deportation to El Salvador "Trump Administration ends months-long controversy by bringing Abrego Garcia back to US on their own terms." Not the homecoming Dems and Abrego Garcia hoped for. Becca Downs at Town Hall cites Alan Dershowitz Explaining Where Abrego Garcia's Attorneys Went So Wrong: 'Big Mistake Big Blunder'. "His lawyers never, ever should have tried to bring him back to the United States. They should have filed a motion, having him transferred from El Salvador or Nicaragua, where maybe there was some fear, to another place, say Argentina or Brazil. He might be a free man today, if they had done that."
