A somewhat different fishing trip. It's a very long story, but I ended up chartering a trip with an old friend I met through Walleye Pete, Chad Koenig of
Dog Days Fishing, out of Dahlgren, Virginia in the tidal Potomac River. The original people I chartered it for, Trevor and Kenny, bailed, for good reasons, but still bailed. I got Jim's son Justin to sign on, and Chad found a frequent fisherman, Don, to take one more spot. We started early to get to a potential top water location by sunrise and succeeded.
And there was a pretty good slug of fish there willing to bite top water. I got this 27 inch (oversize) fish there. Don really put on a show.
And Justin got the most interesting hit of the day, two fish on a single plug.
Later after a few moves, and a few fish, we stopped at spot where the fish were stacked up pretty good, and had another long run of nice stripers.
