Back From Fishin'

Another walk on trip with Walleye Pete. We started on the Eastern Shore at a familiar  site, using surface plugs. The weather was ideal for Striper fishing with plugs, overcast, and misty, The bite was pretty good, and we filled the boat's quota of 19-24 inch fish (mostly near 24), and had several outside the slot.

Including this  27.
After a while we found ourselves searching for Bluefish in the Middle Grounds, around the "target ship", the American Mariner, stranded and used as a naval target. We found the blues in a few small batches, but they were hard to keep on.

We went as far south as Smith Island, to no great result.

On the way home, we stopped at Hoopers Island Light, the light that was recently sold to a private group, who have apparently fixed it up inside. The outside could still use a coat of paint. No fish at home today.
