Rule 5 Saturday - Abby Dowse

This week for Rule 5 Saturday it's Abby Dowse:

Australian social media sensation Abby Dowse has once again set pulses racing with her latest Instagram post, showcasing her enviable figure in a barely-there red bikini!

The blonde bombshell treated her followers to a series of scintillating snapshots, exuding confidence and allure as she soaked up the sun on a balcony.
In the midst of the digital age, where social media influencers dominate the online realm, Dowse has carved out her own niche with her captivating content and daring fashion choices. With each post, she effortlessly captivates her audience, and her recent bikini-clad escapade was no exception.

Dowse's Instagram feed became ablaze with fiery hues as she posed against a backdrop of blue skies, adorned in a minuscule two-piece swimsuit that left little to the imagination. The crimson ensemble accentuated her sun-kissed complexion, while its skimpy design showcased her toned physique with undeniable flair.

Rule 5 Saturday - The Rook - Emma Greenwell

In an attempt to close the summer show hole, we stared watching the Starz series, The Rook, starring Emma Greenwell in the title role as a "talent" in a super secret British agency composed of people with psychic powers. In the opening scene, she wakes up in the rain under the Millennium Bridge in London, surrounded by dead people, with no memory of who she is, or what she can do. She soon finds notes from herself saying what happened, and giving her a choice to flee or stay. You can guess from there.

So far, not too bad. And good enough for a Rule  5 post.
Greenwell was born in Greenwich, Connecticut, to a French mother and an English father. The family moved back to London's South Kensington neighbourhood before her second birthday. She attended the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art for a year. Greenwell said it was good, but it made her realise she did not want to go to drama school before trying her luck at pilot season in Los Angeles, California. Shameless, the Emmy-winning Showtime drama, was her first job. She booked it when she was 22. Prior to that she was planning on returning to London. Booking Shameless forced her to rent a car, find an apartment so she did not return to London for nine months.
With Rook co-star Olivia Munn

She's also had parts the movies, Holy Ghost People (2013), Dare to Be Wild (2015), Pride and Prejudice and Zombies (2016), Love & Friendship (2016), and  Duet (2016) and for TV Shameless 2012–2016, True Blood 2012, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit 2014, and The Path 2016–2018.

Some NSFW pics from her dues paying days.

Rule 5 Saturday - Parks and Rec's Legionnaire - Aubrey Plaza

This week's Rule 5 special highlights someone different...
Aubrey Christina Plaza (born June 26, 1984) is an American actress, comedian and producer. She is known for her role as April Ludgate on the NBC sitcom Parks and Recreation. After appearing in supporting roles in several feature films, Plaza had her first leading role as Darius Britt in the 2012 film Safety Not Guaranteed. Since 2017, she has starred as Lenny Busker in the FX drama series Legion.
I tried a little bit of Legion (not at the beginning, unfortunately) and it was too weird to follow.
Plaza began her career performing improv and sketch comedy at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theater. She later appeared in films such as Mystery Team (2008), Funny People (2009), Scott Pilgrim vs. the World (2010), Monsters University (2013), Life After Beth (2014), Dirty Grandpa(2016), Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates (2016), The Little Hours (2017), and Ingrid Goes West (2017), the latter two of which she also produced.

Plaza was born in Wilmington, Delaware, to Bernadette, an attorney, and David Plaza, a financial advisor. She has two younger sisters, Renee and Natalie.

Plaza was named after the song "Aubrey" by Bread. Her father is Puerto Rican and her mother is of Irish–English descent. Plaza has stated: "I was like the only diverse kid in my high school, and I'm half-Puerto Rican. But yeah, I have a huge family and tons of cousins in Puerto Rico."

Rule 5 Saturday - Ali Cobrin

Stuck in the As.
Ali Cobrin (born July 21, 1989) is an American actress. She is best known for her role as Molly in the Showtime series Look: The Series, and as Kara in the 2012 film American Reunion.

Cobrin was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois. She attended high school at the Chicago Academy for the Arts where she majored in musical theater. Growing up, she trained to become a classical ballerina and competed in the Junior Olympics.

Cobrin began her entertainment career as an improvisation player in Second City's teen ensemble and danced with the Burklyn Ballet Theater touring Scotland, where she performed at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. During that same time, Cobrin had workshopped Broadway musicals, including All That Jazz and Wonderland, which were directed by Ben Vereen and Frank Wildhorn, respectively. After graduating high school at the age of 17, Cobrin moved to Los Angeles, California to pursue an acting career.

Upon moving to Los Angeles, Cobrin had her first film acting role in a 2008 short film entitled One. That same year, she starred in another short film called Jack Turner and the Reluctant Vampire, which won two awards in the Los Angeles Accolade Competition. In 2009, Cobrin had a supporting role in The Hole, a 3D film directed by Joe Dante. The film would win the first Premio Persol award for best 3-D movie at the 2009 Venice Film Festival. In 2010, Cobrin made her debut television appearance in Kings by Night,  a comedy pilot for Spike TV, and Showtime's LOOK. . . .

Rule 5 Saturday - A Hunger for a Hungarian - Barbara Palvin

Without further ado, this week's Saturday Rule 5 special is Barbara Palvin:
Barbara Palvin (pronounced [ˈbɒrbɒrɒ ˈpɒlvin]; born 8 October 1993) is a Hungarian model, actress and former Victoria's Secret model. She is named as the 2016 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit "rookie of the year". She also appeared on the 2016 Love Magazine's advent annual video recreating Sharon Stone's iconic "Basic Instinct."
A worthy impersonation. Trust me on this.

Discovered on the streets of Budapest at the age of 13, Palvin shot her first editorial in 2006 for Spur Magazine. Palvin subsequently moved to Asia where she maintained a steady stream of bookings. Since then, Palvin has been on the cover of L'Officiel (Paris, Russia, Turkey, Thailand, Singapore), Vogue (Portugal), Marie Claire (Italy, Hungary), Glamour Hungary, Elle (Britain, Italy, Korea, Brazil, Argentina, Sweden, Serbia, Hungary), Allure, Harper's Bazaar and Jalouse Magazine. Palvin has appeared in campaigns for Armani Exchange, H&M, Victoria's Secret, and Pull & Bear. In February 2012, she became an ambassador for L'Oréal Paris.  In 2016, Palvin was revealed to be a part of the 2016 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Rookie Class.
Back in 2014 she hooked up with Justin Beiber. I won't hold that against her, but I will hold it against him.

Rule 5 Saturday - Tricia Helfer - The Cylon Wins

This week's lucky Rule 5 subject is Tricia Helfer, best known perhaps as the Cylon Number 6 in the remake of that awful 70s TV sci-fi show Battlestar Galactica.
Helfer was born in rural Donalda, Alberta, to Dennis and Elaine Helfer. She studied at William E Hay Composite High School in Stettler, Alberta. She lived and worked on the family's grain farm with her three sisters - Trina, Tammy, and Tara. She was discovered at age 17 by a modeling agency scout while standing in line at a local movie theatre. She is of German, English, Swedish, and Norwegian descent.
I guess even the Sci-Fi channel looks pretty good from a farm in Alberta
In 1992 she won Ford Models' Supermodel of the World contest. She subsequently was signed to Elite Model Management and later to Trump Model Management. Helfer retired from fashion modelling in 2002 and claimed all her shoots since then are related to projects or product endorsements.
Yeah Trump!
In 2003, she played Number Six on Battlestar Galactica. In 2004, she portrayed Farrah Fawcett in the telemovie The Unauthorized Story of 'Charlie's Angels'. Concurrent with her role in Battlestar Galactica, Helfer began producing and hosting Canada's Next Top Model on May 31, 2006.

In October 2006, it was announced that Helfer would not return to host the second season of Canada's Next Top Model so she could concentrate on Battlestar Galactica.

Apparently, cylons have no use for a sense of modesty. (NSFW links).

This week GOODSTUFFs BLOGGING MAGAZINE (210th Issue) features Colonel Wilma Deering (Erin Gray) or Princess Ardala (Pamela Hensley) of Buck Rogers fame. Rule 5 Saturday - Vanessa Hudgens

For some reason this week's Rule 5 post features Vanessa Hudgens:
Vanessa Anne Hudgens (born December 14, 1988) is an American actress and singer. Hudgens rose to prominence playing Gabriella Montez in the High School Musical series. Hudgens has also appeared in various films and television series for the Disney Channel.
The best thing from Salinas since artichokes?
Hudgens was born in Salinas, California, and has lived with her parents along the West Coast, from Oregon to Southern California. Her mother, Gina (née Guangco), held a succession of office jobs, and her father, Gregory Hudgens, was a firefighter. . . Her father is of Irish and Native American descent, and her mother, a native of Manila, Philippines, is of Filipino-Chinese-Spanish descent. All of her grandparents were musicians.
Vanessa was a victim the in internet "selfie" scandal, where nude selfies of a number of stars were stolen and posted on line. Having found a number of these photos in the research process, let me just reiterate my advice to starlets:

There's a reason magazines hire professional photographers with real cameras and not cell phones.

In  GOODSTUFF's 204th issue of his blogging magazine, he features Salma Hayek and Yvonne Craig. Linked at Pirate's Cover in the weekly "Sorta Blogless Sunday Pinup" and links. Wombat-socho brings us "Rule 5 Sunday: RIP Batgirl, Viva Jeannie!"
