A Constitutional Crisis over Clinton.com?

. . . How the FBI can look at all this and not recommend prosecution of someone for something in EmailGate strains the imagination. Yet President Obama has clearly signaled that it’s all no big deal. Director James Comey has a tough job before him when he takes the FBI’s official recommendations regarding EmailGate to Attorney General Lynch for action, probably sometime this summer. Since Comey is now under a cloud over the FBI’s embarrassing mishandling of Omar Mateen, the Orlando jihadist mass murderer, perhaps his resignation over that matter would be welcome in the White House, which then could find a new director more willing to bend to Obama’s wishes. . .
JAG Expert: FBI Director Comey Has Delayed the Hillary Investigation "For Too Long"
. . . Keiler argues that Hillary’s convenient surge past the magic delegate number the night before the California primary, through a sudden burst of superdelegate declarations, served both her political and legal purposes. “If Comey is an honest policeman,” he writes, “the best time for him to have acted was before Hillary claimed the nomination. Then he would only have been referring charges against another—albeit notorious—private citizen. After the nomination, Hillary becomes not only the standard bearer of one of America’s two great political parties, but a ‘historic’ figure as the first woman to do so. As such, it behooved both Hillary and her backers in the media to reach that point ASAP.” . . .
Guccifer 2.0 Leak Reveals How DNC Rigged Primaries for Clinton
Internal memos, dated May 2015—long before the first state voted in the Democratic primary—referred to Hillary Clinton as though she was already the Democratic presidential nominee. The documents leaked by Guccifer 2.0 not only illuminate the DNC’s efforts to ensure Clinton’s coronation but also reveal the strategies used to shield her from criticism on ethics, transparency and campaign finance reform—all vulnerabilities for the corrupt Establishment darling.
Ann Althouse finds Bernie backers revved up by Guccifer 2.0.  "With proof that #Bernie never even had a chance, I shall double down and vote #BernieOrBust in Nov. @TheDemocrats." DNC Financial Records Stolen By "Guccifer 2.0" Hacker swiped personal info on thousands of party backers. Well, they were at least as safe as the national secrets on Hillary's basement server.

Roger Stone Has Three Questions About Huma Abedin That Hillary WON’T Answer
1) What is Huma’s relationship with a Saudi Arabian official named Abdullah Omar Naseef?

2) Was he the founder of a Saudi charity called the Rabita Trust?

3) Right after 9/11, was the Rabita Trust put on a list by the U.S. government of groups that were funding terrorism?

Short Shrift at Clinton.com

A minimal lot today, but I'm sure the political Sunday shows will generate new interest:

Judge orders Obama administration to release new Clinton emails
A federal judge has ordered the Obama administration to release new emails connected to Hillary Clinton before Democratic National Convention in July.

In an order late on Wednesday, Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson told the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) to hand over to the Republican National Committee (RNC) whatever records it could as part of an RNC’s open-records lawsuit on July 11.

After that, USAID will need to consult with the State Department about hundreds of other pages of documents, which could be released at some point in the future.

The RNC sued the aid agency in March, seeking two sets of communications: those between USAID officials and former aides at the State Department, as well as those between USAID and private domain names associated with Clinton, former President Bill Clinton and others including the Clinton Foundation. The effort appeared to be related to allegations that the former secretary of State’s family foundation had undue influence on USAID.
I'm sure by now the Clinton mob is fairly good at camouflaging the quo pro.

The cankles that launched a thousand boats full of refugees: Hillary's Libya: The Second Time as Farce
. . . Hillary Clinton broke Libya.

So this is the person who is now telling us that Donald Trump is dangerous. Well, it makes sense, because this is the same person who told the parents of the Benghazi victims at their children's funeral that their sons died because of the response to some amateur YouTube video nobody watched and not from an organized terror attack by an al Qaeda affiliate -- in other words, an absolutely immoral liar.
Ann Althouse notices "There are two big problems in trying to analyze Hillary Clinton’s foreign policy speech."
Says Dan Drezner (at The Washington Post). The first is — as I suspect you know — it was mainly an attack on Donald Trump. He's "dangerously incoherent," etc. We get it, but what does that tell us about Clinton's foreign policy?

The second big problem is: "Commentators are already saying that Clinton is to the right of Trump on foreign policy, following up on previous pundit claims that Clinton is more hawkish than Trump on matters of national security." But according to Drezner, "hawk-dove distinctions" don't "really work" and are "pretty useless." He seems to like the idea of replacing "hawk" and "dove" with Hamiltonian, Wilsonian, Jacksonian, and Jeffersonian. In this set-up, Trump gets Jackson and Hillary gets both Wilson and Hamilton.
Remember, It was Wilson's failures that led to the Second World War.

Elizabeth Banks
She's allergic to the truth: Hillary’s coughing fit returns

Bimbo eruption! As the battle for California approaches, Clinton drafts Hollywood  starlets into the fray:
Hollywood actresses, including Sally Field, Elizabeth Banks, and Debra Messing, joined Hillary Clinton at a rally in Culver City on Friday morning. They defended the Democratic presidential frontrunner and tore into her chief rival Donald Trump, just days before the critical California primary.
Sophia Bush

Another Culver City reference! What a happening place, I guess I left 50 years too early!

Field, Banks, and Messing were joined by fellow actresses Sophia Bush and Mary Steenburgen, all of whom helped introduce the candidate at the rally at West Los Angeles College.

The actresses reportedly wasted little time in going after Trump.
Debra Messing.

“He had a university, it no longer exists,” Hunger Games and Pitch Perfect star Banks said, according to the Daily Mail. “He had a TV show, it no longer exists. He had hair…,” she trailed off, to laughter from the audience.
Sally Field
 Wow, that was deep!
For her part, Will and Grace star Debra Messing reportedly called the presumptive GOP nominee a “reckless bigot and misogynist,” while One Tree Hill‘s Sophia Bush said that Trump “wants to make our country a fearful reality show contest.”

Two-time Oscar-winner Sally Field seemingly refrained from criticizing Trump, focusing instead of defending Clinton from her high unfavorability rating among the general electorate.
Mary Steenburgen

“What is this, a high school popularity contest?” the Forrest Gump star said. “She’s not running to be everybody’s friend, she’s running to be the President of the United States.”

“Women have spent the last 100 years trying to get out from under the expectation that they had to be sugar and spice and everything nice,” Field reportedly added. “We don’t need sugar and spice and everything nice. We do need kindness. We do need generosity. These qualities are not the same as being likable.”
 She's just not that likable. . .

Meanwhile, Bernie Sanders, in a move that signals that he is no longer trying to win the nomination, but rather in the business of trying to push Hillary even further left, picked a fight over environmental issues, including fracking:
Bernie Sanders and Hillary Clinton are both hoping green voters will put them over the top as they near the end of a tight California primary fight.

Clinton this week locked up two key endorsements — from an environmental group and Gov. Jerry Brown (D) — both thanks to her positions on environmental issues.

Sanders, meanwhile, is taking his environmental message directly to California voters. He's endorsed local efforts to block new fracking operations, an issue where he argues Clinton is weak, and pushed her on other initiatives dear to greens. “I urge Secretary Clinton to be bolder,” Sanders said at a climate change press conference on Thursday.

“Of course she recognizes the reality of climate change, but I want her to join me in supporting a tax on carbon. I want her to change her views on the very important issue of fracking.”

Playing Catch Up at Clinton.com

We just got back, and stuff packed away, and it's time to deal with three days of accumulate material:

Judge Napolitano says FBI has “overwhelming” evidence to indict and convict Clinton - Sure, and it's also true the administration will run interference as long as possible; which may be forever.

According to Salon, Hillary’s primary success is a sham: Bernie Sanders will remain the true Democratic front-runner until the FBI finishes its Investigation - It's not over until the FBI clears Hillary Clinton— which it absolutely shouldn't. But see above.

Chelsea opened a can of worms with a Kinsleyan Gaffe by admitting that "Now that Scalia’s Gone We Can Enact Gun Control." In an attempt to save her vote in Pennsylvania, Hillary tweeted "I know how important gun ownership & particularly hunting is here in Northeastern Pennsylvania." To which the Instapundit quipped "I know which Clinton I believe".  The less experienced liar? Powerline was blunter. "Hillary Wants Your Guns." Yes, she does, while she stands behind a wall of well armed private security and Secret Service Agents.

McAuliffe restores voting rights for 206K ex-felons; GOP calls it move to boost Clinton. I believe that the rights of felons should be restored, but after a slightly more selective process than a blanket amnesty, given the high rate of recidivism. However, Hillary tweeted "Proud of my friend @GovernorVA for continuing to break down barriers to voting." She could be one soon enough.

Judicial Watch was rejected for consideration of a Pulitzer for it's reporting on Hillary Clinton's Benghazi woes and email scandals on the ground that It ‘Does Not Qualify As A News Site’, despite the fact that similar activist organizations on the left are routinely awarded Pulitzers. Go figure.

Hillary Clinton Has No Regrets About Libya Breaking news, she also has no sense of shame.

Women continue to give Hillary the cold shoulder: Gallup: No interest in Clinton even among Democratic women.
Women have never paid as much attention to the current race as men, but Gallup found that the attention gap has expanded in recent months.

Once just two points apart, in February, the gap is now 13 points and is seen in both Democratic and Republican ranks as men continue to be engaged in the election dominated by news coverage of Republican Donald Trump.
What if they held an election and the women didn't show up to vote? Well, That blows Hillary's Whole Campaign Rationale: Jodie Foster tired of ‘the woman thing’: There’s no ‘big plot to keep women down.’

Get Off My Lawn! Bubba does it again, blaming kids for the nation's economic woes. Sometimes I think he doesn't want her to win.

Hillary has ‘described a vision’ of a running mate With unicorns in short supply, she has indicated:
Senators Tim Kaine and Mark Warner, former governors from the key state of Virginia; Senator Sherrod Brown of Ohio, who represents both a more liberal wing of the party and a swing state; former Gov. Deval Patrick of Massachusetts, a prominent African-American Democrat; and Thomas E. Perez, President Obama’s labor secretary and a Hispanic civil rights lawyer.
Or even more fantastical, Liz "Fauxcahontas" Warren.

A Bunch News More From Clinton.com

The email cover up continues as Republicans pressure IT official for information about Clinton server. Judicial Watch, who has had much more success at getting information Names Clinton Aides To Be Deposed; the usual suspects. When asked what she'll do if she's charged with federal crimes, Hillary brushed it off with:
"That's not going to happen. . . Goodness!" she exclaimed, treating the subject as unworthy of discussion, "I'm not even answering that question."
Some drink to remember, some drink to forget:  Clinton: 'We Didn't Lose a Single Person' in Libya. In a technical sense, she is correct, we got the four bodies back. Remember, it all depends on what the meaning of 'is' is.

Ambassador Stevens was not available for semantic clarification.

Speaking of Clinton speaking, her comments with regard to Supreme Court confirmations from 2008 (from The Lonely Conservative, via Wombat-socho's "In The Mailbox: 03.16.16")
“I believe this is one of the most important roles that the Senate plays, that after all, is in the Constitution. We are asked to give advise and consent or to deny advise and consent.”
Where to start?  What’s Wrong With Hillary?

One of Hillary Clinton’s superdelegates may have to vote for her from jail. Former New York Assembly Speaker and Democratic power broker Sheldon Silver is coming up for trial, accused of rather massive corruption. Voting from jail is easier than voting from a coffin, so it shouldn't be that much of a problem. Also via Wombat-socho's "In The Mailbox: 03.16.16"): CBS Finds More Votes Than Physically Possible In Democratic Race In Illinois. 51-50% Hillary to Bern. The dead still get to vote in Chicago.

ABC Censors Mother of Benghazi Victim’s Charges Against Hillary Clinton. I wonder why.

The Problematic Five: Events With the Power to Reshape the 2016 Election
P2: The FBI criminal investigation of former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s alleged mishandling of classified national security-related information The investigation has raised serious questions about Ms. Clinton’s integrity and fitness for high office. If the FBI recommends her indictment and/or the indictment of senior aides, then it is decision time for Attorney General Loretta Lynch. Failure to prosecute could seriously undermine morale throughout key defense and intelligence agencies.

P3: Libya 2016 The terror attack on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi, Libya, should have been an issue in the 2012 election. Successful lying by key members of the Obama Administration, to include Ms. Clinton, muted Libya 2012. So did CNN  debate moderator Candy Crowley when she intervened on Obama’s behalf when Mitt Romney raised the issue. Several Clinton emails obtained by investigators confirm she misled the electorate about Benghazi (A P2 TIE-IN). Libya 2016 serves as shorthand for the Obama Administration’s war on the Islamic State in the Levant (ISIL). U.S. forces are back in Iraq. Syria has shattered and Russia is resurrecting the Assad dictatorship.
D'Souza: Hillary Film Could Earn Me ‘Life in Prison’
Conservative filmmaker Dinesh D'Souza said his upcoming film about Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton is going to result in a lifelong prison sentence.

D’Souza said he was locked up for 8 months in a “federal confinement center” for a “relatively minor campaign finance infraction” following the release of his film, 2016, about President Obama.

“If that film got me eight months in the slammer, this new movie is going to earn me life in prison,” he said at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC). “It’s time to take the gloves off.”

D’Souza described the film, Hillary’s America, as a sordid history of the Democratic Party from the very beginning all the way through Hillary Clinton.
Remember, Citizen's United was about a movie critical of Hillary.

"In the 1980s and 1990s, the politics of crime turned distinctly punitive and remained racially coded."
"Hillary Clinton’s reference to 'superpredators' when talking about crime (which has come up repeatedly in the current campaign) was made in 1996. On the campaign trail and in office, Bill Clinton worked to shore up his 'tough on crime' credentials. As the legal historian Ian Haney Lopez writes, 'Clinton flew back to Arkansas to oversee the execution of a mentally impaired black individual, Ricky Ray Rector,' and he advocated for a number of federal measures, including [the] federal 'three strikes' law."
“Entrenched anti-Semitic views” very rare among whites and Asian Americans, common among blacks and Latinos, in other words, Hillary's base. Why is the Democrat Party such a hot bed of bigotry and racism?

Salon having second thoughts? Hillary will never survive the Trump onslaught: It’s not fair, but it makes her a weak nominee. He's just a Blue Meanie. . .Social Media Explodes Over Hillary’s ‘Excruciating’ Voice. I've heard her compared to every man's first wife, which is quite unfair to a lot of women. And yet another coughing fit leaves some wondering if she has a serious illness. I just think it's a tell when she's lying (by her own liberal standards).

Monday Clinton.com Round Up

A State Department staffer who oversaw security and technology issues for Hillary Clinton is refusing to answer Senate investigators’ questions about the former secretary of state’s use of a private email server — marking the second time an ex-State employee has declined to talk to lawmakers.

John Bentel, a now-retired State employee who managed IT security issues for the top echelon at the department, declined to be interviewed by GOP staff on the Senate Judiciary and Homeland Security committees, according to a letter obtained by POLITICO.

The chairmen of both committees, Sens. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) and Ron Johnson (R-Wis.), are now threatening to consider other ways to compel him to discuss the matter.

“We are troubled by your refusal to engage with the committees even after repeated overtures of accommodation,” the letter to Bentel and his lawyer reads. “We need to speak with you. … We would, of course, prefer that you meet with us in a voluntary and informal manner, but we will consider other options if faced with a continuing lack of cooperation.”
. . .
According to his LinkedIn profile, Bentel joined State in 1974. He served as director of information resources management in the office of the executive secretariat, which includes the secretary and top staff as well as the deputy secretary and undersecretaries. The office also handles State’s relations with the White House, National Security Council and other agencies.

His position, according to the letter, would have made him responsible for Clinton’s information management and information technology needs, including perhaps her BlackBerry use.
Why it's almost like there's an administration wide conspiracy to keep the facts from getting out.

Smitty at The Other McCain has found some pages of George Soros' diary floating about:
13 Mary 2016

There are few joys in life like a long-term plan coming together.

Especially when the plan involves having your enemies cheerfully support, even DEMAND!, a plan that is destroying them.

The Bushes thwarted me in 2004, but the joy of setting my tool in the White House in 2008 was worth it. Sure, Hillary hated to be told to wait, but, hey, I told her: hatred ages like wine, if the plotting and timing right. My skill and patience since the demise of the Reich have paid off in ways that Hitler never could have dreamed.

But the shrew is greedy, which may yet prove her undoing. Of course I knew she had the email server, and told her it was a risk. Fortunately our people at State are keeping that particular email fully redacted. It’s also been cute to see the arrogant hussy try to run a few games on the side, to hustle some cash from the Davos crowd, as though they don’t fear me far more than her. . .
Speaking of those side games, Hillary Pays Herself $250,000 From Campaign Coffers. She's the only presidential candidate doing it.
A Federal Elections Commission rule change in 2002 allowed for candidates to pay themselves using campaign funds, however, this was allowed explicitly for candidates without means who quit their jobs to seek office.

“The salary must not exceed the lesser of the minimum annual salary for the federal office sought or what the candidate received as earned income in the previous year,” according to the FEC.
Also from Smitty: Bill the Conqueror Fought at Hastings in 1066 to Equalize Wages for Oppressed Women #HistoryByHillary. Speaking of history, somebody snooping around in her past found a Golden oldie Clinton video: “There is no way to legislate against outsourcing”
Here’s the money quote:
“It is an inevitability. There is no way to legislate against reality, so I think the outsourcing will continue.”
That’s a rather convenient position to take, since her husband really kicked off the job outsourcing glut to begin with. But the duplicitous nature of Clinton’s approach was on display when she addressed a group of labor leaders in Detroit at the same time. Here’s how it was described in the Toledo Blade after the fact:
Speaking from the heart of automotive manufacturing, Hillary Clinton on Friday called for a federal minimum wage boost and tax penalties against companies that outsource jobs.
“I do want to send a clear message to every boardroom and executive suite — if you cheat your employees, you exploit your customers, you pollute our environment or rip off the taxpayers, we will hold you accountable,” she said, in a speech to about 200 supporters. “If you desert America, you’ll pay a price.”
Hillary promises to put coal miners out of work: Hillary Boasts to Liberal Audience: “We’re Going to Put a Lot of Coal Miners and Coal Companies Out of Work”, and then put them back to work in government subsidized jobs in "sustainable energy" which have never really worked yet. JVW at Patterico's is having a contest to find the best (of many reasons) Why Hillary! Is Even Worse Than Her Husband and starts it off with:
Hillary! is worse than her husband because she shares his penchant for lying, paranoia, self-aggrandizement, attraction to the sleaziest of political operators, and unshakable belief that no matter what corners are cut and what legal lines are crossed it is all done in the name of making sure that someone so important and indispensable rises to the top, but she combines all that with the ugly and vile identity politics of Baby Boomer feminist victimhood entitlement.
I think he cheated by combining more than one.

The new, new, new, newest Hillary! Hillary Clinton takes new tack to boost her image. Recommendations from Dick Cheney and the KKK? Sure, that'll help. From Althouse: Hillary said she's "receiving messages" from foreign leaders asking "if they can endorse me to stop Donald Trump", but she doesn't list them. I'm guessing the President of Mexico and North Korea.

In the Media watch department, Althouse also notices CNN Town hall debate "moderators"  Jake Tapper and Roland Martin giving Hillary kisses. Just politeness? Would they have kissed Sarah Palin? Watch this CNN anchor have a panic attack when Ohio GOP chairman Matt Borges points out it was Hillary's minions (it's good to have minions) first raised the "birther" argument against Obama.

Mixing Obamacare Schadenfreude, and Clinton.com antics, Hillary stepped in it a bit, when she asked where Bernie was in '93 and '94 when she was stumping for Hillarycare, and it turned out photos showed him literally standing right behind her. Hillary also told this woman concerned about the high costs of Obamacare to keep shopping.

The American Spectator reviews OBAMA’S LIBYA SH*T SHOW. You might recall that Hillary! had some small role in that.

Dueling predictions: From the Chicago Tribune,  Hillary can't win. She's the establishment candidate in year of insurgency. But Ace:
We are going to get our asses kicked unholy by Hillary Clinton in November. Those of you who think that this act is going to be super-popular and attract all of these "new voters"... I know you want to think that, but at some point, your theories really ought to begin evidencing their reality in the polls.

Instead, Hillary's lead continues to grow. It will keep on growing.

Because America does not like authoritarians. And yes, Hillary is herself an authoritarian. But she's pretending to not be one, and Trump is... well, Trump is "authentic" on that score I guess.
Fear the worst, and work towards the best.

And from the Hillary Health Watch: Clinton has another coughing fit during speech. One ENT thinks it's acid reflux. I think it's reflex to cover lying.

Some speculation from TaxProf blog in the daily IRS scandal watch:  Would A President Hillary Use IRS To Punish Political Foes?
The Clintons are spiteful people. They have a history of crushing those who get in their way: ...

The infrastructure for IRS persecution is already in place for Clinton, as the tax agency’s targeting of conservative groups continues to this day, more than two years after the practice was exposed. ...

“If the Clintons get back into the White House, it will be retribution time, like the Corleone family consolidating power in ‘The Godfather,'” said Newsweek. “Just think of all the scores to settle, the grievances to indulge.”

Given Clinton’s record, there can be no doubt that she will use the IRS and any other federal agency to intimidate, harass and ruin her political opponents if she is elected president.

Indeed, the Clintons already know how to use the IRS for retribution. This was confirmed by former IRS official Paul Breslan.

And since the Clintons know that there will be no consequences for their actions, given that no one is going to be held accountable in the IRS scandal, there will be no holding back. The IRS will have to hire new agents just to keep up with the Clintons’ dirty work.
Count on it.

Sunday Morning at Clinton.com

A pretty light load, since not too much happens on Saturdays.

The only surprise is the margin. An aging socialist beats an even more aged communist in a southern state, 73-26%. Largely on the backs of black African American voters, despite #BlackLivesMatter supporters booted from Georgia rally for Hillary. Even Hillary knows they don't represent anyone significant. Isn't it time we stopped pretending they do?

It was revealed that some number of illegal (foreign, non citizen) campaign contributions may have been made to Bernie's campaign. No one seems to know who snitched, but there's a strong suspicion that HRC's campaign had a hand in it. Where were they when BHO's campaign ran openly with a broken system that allowed nearly anyone to donate?

Media Pundits Often Fail to Disclose Financial Ties to Hillary Clinton. George Stephanopoulos is just a striking example; former Clinton flack, current Clinton.com donor, pretending to be a neutral journolist on TV even as I type. But even then, the Hillary campaign doesn't give them their due: Press Forbidden from Filming Hillary Boarding Private Plane. Assuming they were interested to begin with.

Glenn Kessler, Washington Post's Fact Checker Spinner, takes on Clinton's claim that George Bush tried to privatize Social Security, and awards three out of four possible Pinocchios. Using my usual bias correction of adding two for articles about democrats, and subtracting two from stories about Republicans results in five out of a possible four. Sounds about right.

The New York Times! looks at Clinton's foreign policy record of failure in Libya:
The president was wary. The secretary of state was persuasive. But the ouster of Col. Muammar el-Qaddafi left Libya a failed state and a terrorist haven.
Here’s what #NeverTrump and #WhichHillary have in common
Maybe it’s a coincidence that #WhichHillary and #NeverTrump arose with a few days of each other, but something about these hashtags reminds me of the “last exit for x miles” sign you sometimes see before a long, barren stretch of highway. The time to change the direction the parties are headed hasn’t run out yet but with Super Tuesday approaching it’s definitely getting closer. For the moment, both parties are struggling to choose between a less-ideologically pure front-runner (Trump and Clinton) and a candidate (Sanders) or candidates (Cruz and Rubio) who has a track record more in step with the party’s core beliefs but who seems less electable.

Clinton.com: The Gift that Keeps on Giving

Another batch

This is my shocked face. Hillary Clinton's Billionaire Fundraiser Host Got Sweet Deal In Solyndra Collapse
Hillary Clinton’s claim that she is not beholden to her wealthy donors will come under renewed scrutiny Friday when the Democratic front-runner raises fresh cash for her presidential bid at the home of George Kaiser, a billionaire whose firm was the biggest investor in the troubled Solyndra stimulus project — and who managed to walk away with a lucrative profit at the expense of taxpayers.
Hillary Clinton Is Whitewashing the Financial Catastrophe
. . . Candidate Clinton is essentially whitewashing the financial catastrophe. She has produced a clumsy rewrite of what caused the 2008 collapse, one that conveniently leaves her husband out of the story. He was the president who legislated the predicate for Wall Street’s meltdown. Hillary Clinton’s redefinition of the reform problem deflects the blame from Wall Street’s most powerful institutions, like JPMorgan Chase and Goldman Sachs, and instead fingers less celebrated players that failed. In roundabout fashion, Hillary Clinton sounds like she is assuring old friends and donors in the financial sector that, if she becomes president, she will not come after them. . .
From a Glass-Steagall true believer. I think his additions to the Community Reinvestment Act were more significant.

Hillary’s Wall Street Trust Gap
Hillary Clinton has an opinion piece in the New York Times on her plans to rein in Wall Street and protect the public from excessive risk-taking. And the most interesting line in it has nothing to do with tax loopholes or Wall Street or inequality or financial regulation at all. “My comprehensive plan has already won praise from progressives like Sherrod Brown and Barney Frank,” she writes, before delving into “what it would do.”

Why all the progressive shout-outs? I do not think it is because Clinton seems to be moving to the left on financial regulation. The plan that she put out in October was already pretty lefty: It imposes a “risk fee” on the largest financial institutions, creates a new high-frequency trading tax, beefs up the Volcker Rule, and on and on. All of that is on top of the existing Dodd-Frank legislation, by the way, which she promises to defend and strengthen.

Rather, it seems to be an attempt to convince the left that she is really on their side. This is a candidate who has racked up millions of dollars in speaking fees from financial firms, along with millions more in campaign contributions. That is to say nothing of the money raked in by her husband. (Or the culpability-by-osmosis many progressives assign to her for the regulatory policy decisions made by Bill’s administration.) All those dollars have left her open to skepticism from progressives and to repeated broadsides from Bernie Sanders, among others. “The truth is, you can’t change a corrupt system by taking its money,” Sanders says in one advertisement, even if he refrains from saying Clinton’s name. . .
It was a tough choice, but: Hillary Clinton’s most repugnant lie
Liar, liar, pantsuit on fire: Hillary Clinton still insists she didn’t tell the grieving families of the Benghazi victims that an anti-Islam video was to blame.

Yet family members say she said just that, three days after the attack, at the Sept. 14, 2012, ceremony at Andrews Air Force Base.

George Stephanopoulos asked her Sunday if she’d told the victims it was about the film. Clinton gave a flat “no.”

She added: “I said very clearly there had been a terrorist group, uh, that had taken responsibility on Facebook, um . . .”

At least four family members disagree.
On the short list of accomplishments on her resume:  State Department: Libya ‘Has Struggled’ Since Clinton Push for Intervention
State Department spokesman John Kirby admitted Friday that Libya “has struggled” since 2011, when then-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton led the charge for U.S. military intervention in the Libyan civil war.

“After the intervention in 2011 … I think we’ve all seen that Libya has struggled since 2011,” Kirby said. He pointed to the power vacuum that dictator Muammar Gaddafi’s ouster created as a source of instability, and said that since 2011, violent groups like the Islamic State have filled that vacuum.

“We know that groups like ISIL try to use ungoverned spaces there, as they have in Syria, to try to propagate their own twisted form of ideology and violence,” he said.
To be fair, Obama deserves the lion's share of the discredit.

Groups say Clinton ‘sending mixed messages’ on Islamophobia
As Hillary Clinton slams Donald Trump’s rhetoric on Muslims, some liberal and Muslim advocacy organizations are calling on the Democratic presidential front-runner to distance herself from Wesley Clark, the retired general and longtime Clinton ally who made controversial remarks on segregating radicalized Muslims this summer.
. . .
Appearing on MSNBC in July, Clark said that radicalized people need to be separated from society. “If these people are radicalized and they don’t support the United States and they’re disloyal to the United States as a matter of principle, fine. That’s their right and it’s our right and obligation to segregate them from the normal community for the duration of the conflict. And I think we’re going to have to increasingly get tough on this,” he said.
How dare he suggest that people at war with our country and culture be treated as enemies. . .

And the Clinton.com email scandal continues to bear noxious fruit: State Department belatedly finds 1,300 emails on Anwar Al-Awlaki
The State Department has belatedly discovered about 1,300 emails relating to deceased Islamic cleric Anwar Al-Awlaki in official accounts belonging to top aides to former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, more than four years after a conservative group requested all such records, a new court filing reports.

At a federal court hearing in Washington last month, Justice Department attorneys assigned to the case brought by Judicial Watch told a federal judge that State‘s “executive secretariat” — the repository of records for the secretary's office — was searched in response to the initial Freedom of Information Act request from Judicial Watch.
. . .
“Upon review of the initial search of S/ES, State determined to conduct targeted supplemental searches,” Justice Department attorney Stephen Elliott wrote. “Accordingly, State conducted searches of the state.gov email accounts of six individuals, including Ms. [Huma] Abedin, Ms. [Cheryl] Mills, and Mr. [Jake] Sullivan. In total, State’s searches of the state.gov email accounts for the six individuals identified 1,317 potentially responsive records, many of which are multiple-page documents.”
But, curiously, one set of emails remain untouched. The guy who handled the email: State Department can't find emails of top Clinton IT staffer
The State Department has told Senate investigators it cannot find backup copies of emails sent by Bryan Pagliano, the top Hillary Clinton IT staffer who maintained her email server but has asserted his Fifth Amendment right and refused to answer questions on the matter.

State officials told the Senate Judiciary Committee in a recent closed-door meeting that they could not locate what’s known as a “.pst file” for Pagliano’s work during Clinton’s tenure, which would have included copies of the tech expert’s emails, according to a letter Chairman Chuck Grassley sent to Secretary of State John Kerry that was obtained by POLITICO.
Nothing to see here . . .

Trump on Granny Clinton: ‘She’s killed hundreds of thousands of people with her stupidity’
It’s a day ending in “y” so of course this clown is saying something idiotic. As it becomes more clear he’ll be losing he just vomits up anything that crosses his mind. Granted, Grandma’s track record is horrendous, but to say she’s killed hundreds of thousands of people is just idiotic.
Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump is pinning blame for the Syrian civil war and the rise of the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS) on Hillary Clinton.
“She is the one that caused all this problem with her stupid policies,” Trump said on “Fox News Sunday.” “You look at what she did with Libya, what she did with Syria.”
“You look, she was truly, if not the, one of the worst secretary of States in the history of the country,” he added. “She talks about me being dangerous; she’s killed hundreds of thousands of people with her stupidity.”
Fox News host Chris Wallace questioned Trump about the claim.
“What do you mean, ‘hundreds of thousands?’ ” Wallace said.
“She was secretary of State. Obama was president, the team,” Trump responded. “Two real geniuses.”
Ironically, this genius donated money to both of them. So what does that make him?
Analysis? Every bit as fair as blaming Bush for everything.

New Emails Show Clinton Promoted Blumenthal Interests in Libya
The House Select Committee on Benghazi will be making public next week new documents that demonstrate Sidney Blumenthal was seeking business in Libya as he was advising then Secretary of State Hillary Clinton on U.S. policy in the country. According to a letter from Chairman Trey Gowdy to Elijah Cummings, the ranking Democrat on the committee, at least once Clinton sought to aid Blumenthal's business interests in Libya.

The 13-page letter also details new concerns about compromised security on Clinton's email, noting that in one unsecured email Blumenthal appears to name a top CIA source in Libya --a revelation that could compromise the safety of that source if it became known publicly.
And more from Hotair: Newly discovered e-mails suggest Clinton influenced by Blumenthal’s business in Libya
At the time, Blumenthal was pushing for an American military intervention, but not exactly for altruistic reasons. His first point in his argument, and his fifth point out of five as well, was a 2011 Quinnipiac poll showing Obama down 41/50 for re-election. “No time for panic,” Blumenthal wrote, “[t]ime to prevent panic.” Blumenthal further argued that stopping a massacre in Benghazi wouldn’t be enough to win an election, because “seeking gratitude from people … soon reaches a counter-productive point.” Blumenthal then tells Hillary this:

At this point, Gowdy notes in his letter, Hillary forwards this to Jake Sullivan, saying that “I agree about the need to keep the attack tempo up.” Note that this exceeded the stated mission for the US and NATO in Libya, transforming it from a genocide-prevention operation to a full-blown war of regime change on Qaddafi. The motivation, at least as expressed to Hillary and then forwarded by her to her team, appears to be entirely related to the need to look tough for the re-election campaign.
Muslim Brotherhood official, former Clinton Foundation employee arrested in Cairo
A senior Muslim Brotherhood official who, until recently, had been employed by the William J. Clinton Foundation was arrested in Cairo on Tuesday and charged with inciting violence.

Gehad el-Haddad served as one of the Muslim Brotherhood’s top communications officials until Egyptian security forces seized him as part of a wider crackdown on officials loyal to ousted former President Mohamed Morsi.

Before emerging as a top Brotherhood official and adviser to Morsi, el-Haddad served for five years as a top official at the Clinton Foundation, a nonprofit group founded by former President Bill Clinton.

El-Haddad gained a reputation for pushing the Muslim Brotherhood’s Islamist agenda in the foreign press, where he was often quoted defending the Brotherhood’s crackdown on civil liberties in Egypt.

He was raised in a family of prominent Brotherhood supporters and became the public face of the Islamist organization soon after leaving his post at the Clinton Foundation.
And speaking of the Muslim Sisterhood: It's Chelsea vs Huma! The two competitive, power-hungry women vying to become Hillary Clinton's official First LADY
Guess who's coming to state dinners and other official White House functions as first lady if Hillary wins the presidency?

The top two contenders on Clinton's very secret potential first lady list are her close aide and controversial confidante, Huma Abedin, and popular former first daughter, Chelsea Clinton-Mezvinsky, Daily Mail Online can report exclusively.

A Clinton campaign source revealed that Chelsea and Huma 'are being seriously discussed' for the first lady spot.

'Hillary firmly believes both Huma and Chelsea can handle the duties of the first lady with aplomb,' said the source.

'But in the end she also knows it can be as big a decision to make as selecting her vice presidential running mate because the personality and image of the first lady can be a key to the success of an administration.

Hillary Clinton Supporters Were Asked About Her "White Privilege Tax

Because a man would have to be stupid or crazy to vote for her: Hillary Clinton’s Problem With Men
When Hillary Clinton entered the presidential race, she expected to win overwhelming support among women in her bid to become the first female president. Instead, she’s finding out that an unprecedented level of resistance to her candidacy among men is undermining the conventional wisdom that she’d be the strongest Democratic nominee in the general election.

Put another way: Clinton is now nearly as unpopular with men as Donald Trump is with women. That’s saying something.

The latest round of polling for Clinton is brutal. This week’s NBC News/Wall Street Journal/Marist survey in Iowa shows her favorability rating with men at a mere 27 percent, while two-thirds view her unfavorably. Her minus-39 net favorability with men is 28 points worse than Vice President Joe Biden and 27 points behind Sen. Bernie Sanders. The story is the same in New Hampshire, where the NBC/WSJ/Marist poll found both Sanders and Biden with net-positive ratings, while Clinton’s approval is deeply underwater, stuck at 30 percent.

Clinton heckled at Hispanic Caucus event
Hillary Clinton was briefly interrupted by a heckler during her award presentation at the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute’s gala Thursday.

The front-runner for the Democratic nomination did not address the individual but Roselyn Sanchez, the actress and singer emceeing the event, said she didn’t know how politicians were able to keep talking while they were being yelled at.

“That was real intense, my Puerto Rican temper would be like ‘excuse me?’” Sanchez said after Clinton finished presenting her award.

The protester, from United We Dream Action, was protesting private-prison corporations' donations to Clinton's campaign.

Juan Carlos Ramos issued a statement through United We Dream about why he protested.

“Our message to Hillary Clinton is simple: immigrant youth do not trust you. It is time to drop the prison money and stand with our community — you can’t have it both ways,” he said. “Each dollar of private prison money accepted by the Clinton campaign undermines her pro-immigrant policy promises, and our community will not be fooled.”

Clinton.com in the Classifieds

Documents challenge Clinton claim no classified intel on personal emails
Secretary of State Hillary Clinton used her personal email account to handle high level negotiations in 2011 for a no-fly zone to help topple Libyan dictator Muammar Qaddafi, according to a series of emails obtained by Fox News, challenging her claim the private server did not hold classified information.

The emails, linked here, conflict with Clinton's statement that she did not put national security at risk by using a personal account.

"I did not email any classified material to anyone on my email. There is no classified material," Clinton, now a candidate for president, told reporters in March. "I'm certainly well-aware of the classification requirements and did not send classified material."

That claim was hard to test because emails released by the State Department are heavily blacked out. But an email chain from March 23, 2011 -- with virtually no redactions -- shows a message for senior administration staff including then Deputy National Security Adviser Denis McDonough, then-Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs William Burns, Under Secretary of Defense for Policy, Michele Flournoy among others. It goes point by point, explaining what Turkey, France and Britain will likely accept in the deal.
. . .
While the first email in the chain is marked "UNCLASSIFIED," based on his experience as ambassador to the UN, Bolton said he suspects a lot of intelligence was pushed out as unclassified to accommodate her separate, private system.
For some odd reason, I would expect that any email from a Secretary of State to any of the his/her subordinates about foreign policy matters would be routinely classified. But what do I know?

Actually, I'm kind of surprised that Hillary was really involved in matters of state; I always thought Obama gave her the job so she could pretend to build a resume, and left it up to the old guard at State to actually formulate and carry out policy. I'm sure it would have worked out at least slightly better.

Gowdy: Blumenthal's Emails to Hillary Were Not Unsolicited
Representative Rep. Trey Gowdy (R-SC), Chairman of the House Select Committee on Benghazi, said that Hillary Clinton told Sidney Blumenthal to keep the emails to her coming and that this proves Blumenthal’s correspondence with Clinton was not “unsolicited” on Wednesday’s “America’s Newsroom” on the Fox News Channel.

Gowdy stated, “he [Blumenthal] was sending emails to Secretary Clinton far before the attack in Benghazi, all the way back to 2011. So, the whole lead-up to the attacks in Benghazi, Blumenthal was sending emails to Secretary Clinton that he never vetted, he doesn’t know anything about the sources. The memos were written by Tyler Drumheller, who may have had a financial interest. And anytime someone has a financial interest, then you need to look at the material, or their objective in the outcome, their interest in the outcome with scrutiny. She couldn’t do it and he couldn’t do it. So, how did they vet the information that was being passed on to our top diplomat?”

He added, regarding Clinton’s claims that the emails were “unsolicited,” “she and I have very different definition of the word ‘unsolicited.’ You’ll remember when she was asked, she said an old friend sent me unsolicited emails. Well, when you tell somebody to keep it coming or this is good stuff, or good work, then that tells me it wasn’t unsolicited. She flat out said ‘keep these coming.'”
And remember, Sid "Vicious" Blumenthal was in Hillary's employment, as a part time, $120,000 per year employee of the Bill, Hillary and Chelsea Clinton Foundation. When she say "keep these coming" she's not telling a friend "good job she's "telling an employee what to do.

Awful, Horrible Woman Charged Boys & Girls Club $200K Speaking Fee, Ignored Kids Who Wanted to Say Hello

Hillary Clinton reportedly charged a Boys and Girls Club chapter $200,000 for an appearance, then left the premise without saying hello to children who benefit from the program.

The massive fee, which she donated back to her family foundation, was the largest the Long Beach, California, organization had ever paid a public figure for a speech, Politico reports.

By contrast, the club made $106,000 off the lunchtime, charity event – it’s lowest yield in 25 years. A contributing factor to the diminished proceeds: Clinton’s large entourage that took up seats that would have otherwise been sold to donors.

The details of the 2014 closed-press event were published in a Politico report today that cites a volunteer with the group as the source of the unflattering information.

Normally, speakers donate much of their honorariums back to the small, non-profit that has an annual operating budget of just $3 million.
Well, so much for the Clintons being normal.
The former secretary of state redirected her check to the Clinton Foundation, which raked in $262 million in 2013, according to a Washington Post assessment released earlier this year following the group’s latest disclosures.
Hey, it takes a steady flow of cash to pay Bubba's bills and provide Sid "Vicious" Blumenthal with a big travel budget for his Libya "investments."

By contrast:
That compares to former Secretary of State Condolezza Rice, the 2009 guest, who asked for $60,000, most of which she donated back to the Boys and Girls Club.

Her event, which was open press, reportedly raised more than twice as much, $258,000, as Hillary Clinton’s did. And she arrived early to tour the club’s facilities and meet with disadvantaged youth who participate in the program.

All You Need to Know about Susan Rice and the Benghazi Timeline

If Obama was fully briefed on the true nature of the terrorist attack within 72 hours, Susan Rice’s subsequent disinformation tour isn’t the only public relations scandal here. To recap, Rice appeared on the Sunday chat shows five days after the raid — and two days after the president was reportedly briefed — falsely asserting that (1) the violence had spun out of “spontaneous” protests, (2) the US had “no information” pointing to a premeditated attack, and (3) our security presence in Benghazi was “substantial” — her most insulting claim of all. But perhaps she was simply an unwitting victim of drastically edited talking points. The president knew better, yet his White House chose to deploy her to recite a specific and misleading version of events for public consumption. But let’s not forget that on September 25, two full weeks after the attack, Obama himself was still publicly hedging on the terrorism question.
Yeah, but they were trying to mislead Al Qaeda into thinking we didn't suspect them, for two weeks...

After they claimed credit.
