Yes, I'm back from my Syrupean fishing vacation. I made it home by late in the afternoon Friday, and after putting away the mess, a quick trip to the Drs, Gabby's soccer game, and general fatigue, I didn't get much accomplished yesterday.

Of course, we're still talking about the assassination of Charlie Kirk. As far as actual progress towards identifying and arresting the actual killer, the authorities have video surveillance of a person dressed in black shirt and jeans with sunglasses and a hat and wearing Converse sneakers accessing the rooftop from where the shot was fired. It seems likely he concealed the rifle in his pants, causing him to limp. After the assassination, he is seen leaving the building and jumping down, and running off into the neighborhood with a rifle wrapped up. A footwear impression, a palm print, and forearm imprints were found where he left the building. Surveillance photos have been published, and the authorities as asking for tips. An older 30.06 Mauser rifle was found in the woods nearby, reportedly with one fired shell casing, and some unfired shells reputedly etched with transgender and antifascist symbols. I can't imagine the shooter can evade law enforcement too much longer, unless he goes into the hills and lives off the land like Eric Rudolph.
