Flotsam and Jetsam - It's Trump/Vance!

I've had trouble diving back into the morning posts since we got back from Costa Rica very early Monday morning. The posts, which have evolved and expanded from a small set back in the Obamacare debate era to a ginormous, all consuming political post. This looks like a good opportunity to prune it back some.

I stayed up late last night/this morning to watch election results, up until Fox finally called Georgia and Pennsylvania for Trump, giving him 267 electoral votes, and near mathematical certainty of winning enough to take the presidency. He's even leading the popular vote. Currently, RCP gives him 280 electoral college votes, with Arizona, Nevada, Michigan still outstanding and all currently leaning Trump. In Maryland, tax cheat Angela Alsobrooks, not unexpectedly, beat former governor Larry Hogan for Senate. However, with WV going for Justice, and Ohio dumping Sherrod Brown and Montana canning Tester, the Senate is safe in Republican hands, with 52 Senators, and a few left to be decided. The House is still up for grabs, but it's currently looking good for Republicans, with +3 seats and counting.

AMERICA WINS. Ace, in with the Flaming Skull in the pudding cup, in all red italic caps, FOX NEWS NOW CALLS WISCONSIN FOR TRUMP, FOX DECLARES TRUMP THE 47th PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES! CNN, CBS Finally Call PA. Duane Patterson at Hat Hair, Honestly, It Really Wasn't That Close. I could go on and on, but I won't.

This appears to be a fairly strong mandate for Trump, and a thorough rejection of the woke, progressive policies advocated by the Harris/Walz crowd. It remains to be seen how they will deal with the rebuke.

On going questions? Will the riots in D.C., NYC, Seattle and Portland beat our expectation? SO NOW THAT TRUMP HAS WON THE POPULAR VOTE, I ASSUME THAT CALIFORNIA, NEW YORK, ILLINOIS, ET AL., WILL GIVE HIM THEIR ELECTORAL VOTES, Under the National Popular Vote Compact that they signed up for. Right? Will boxes of ballots continue to fall out of the back of trucks  with California plates in Michigan, Georgia and Pennsylvania in an attempt to reflip those states? Will Attorney General Merrick Garland, not so Special Counsel Jack Smith and Judge Shitcan conspire to jail Trump before he can take office and fire Smith?
