Fishing in Tamarindo

Before we left, I booked a fishing charter in Tamarindo from the internet. A couple of days ago I was notified the trip had been cancelled due to an engine problem. They suggested another local guid might have one on short notice, and after a number of email exchanges I succeeded in booking one with Maryola Tours, to start on the beach near our hotel at 0630.

The dock. I was picked up on the beach, by the first mate Hank.

Captain Danniello and Hank.

A nice Yellowfin Tuna. We also caught several Albacore, which they either threw back or used as bait. On a big chunk of Albacore we hooked a submarine which eventually broke off from the heaviest tackle on the boat.

We missed the first thunderstorm in Tamarindo today.
