Flotsam and Jetsam - Fauci Files Freed

Rand Paul, who as a fellow Dr., has had it in for Anthony Fauci for quite a while for lying to Congress about the origin and seriousness of Covid, got his hands on Fauci's private diary somehow (he probably kept it at work), and it revealed the either Fauci was lying to Congress and the public or himself, was a double-dealing little glory hound weasel while also being the most highly paid government employee ever, while leading the effort to fight the disease. Fox, Fauci's newly released COVID diaries reveal bizarre fixation on fame as pandemic deaths mounted. "Fauci wrote that his "national and international fame is explosive and really unimaginable" and that it was "not hyperbole" to say he was "the most famous and talked about person in the country."" Hat Hair's Dave Strom hopes Will Fauci Fall Finally? From Breitbart, Fauci, CNN Condemned ‘Small Household Gatherings’ Week Before Fauci-Tapper Dinner. From Sundance at CTH, Ahead of Anthony Fauci Testimony to Senate, Rand Paul Releases Files Outlining Serious Manipulation of COVID-19 Information. At Ace's they're charged up, Rand Paul Publishes Anthony Fauci's Private Diaries, In Which He Confesses He Knows Covid Didn't Come from "The Wet Market" and Has a Lethality of Only 0.2-0.3%; "The Media Refuses to Cover. And they won't cover it because the diaries also expose this deranged dwarfish narcissist as being their dinner-guest and "friendship building" pal." And THE MORNING RANT: As Bombshell Fauci Docs Drop, Faux-Conservative Media Indignantly Covers Story It Suppressed in 2020. Bill Melugin @BillMelugin_, "NEW: On page 302 of the new personal records of Dr. Fauci released by Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY), Fauci complains that in 2013, HHS didn't let him do a CNN television interview because of "pure jealousy", adding that it was because he's a "rockstar" who was "stealing their thunder."" C3 @C_3C_3, "Photo 1: A man who claimed Covid had a mortality rate of a flu in his diary. Photo 2: A man who claimed Covid had a mortality rate 10X of a flu under oath in front of Congress." Tara Servatius @TaraServatius, "DAMN. In early 2020, Fauci recorded in his diary how much he was able to make the stock market drop with his lie that covid was 10x more deadly than the flu. At the same time, in the same diary, he wrote that covid wasn't any more deadly than the seasonal flu. While he was going on TV saying the opposite to terrify the public into shutting down the economy. It was all a lie designed to take out Trump's most formidable weapon for reelection: his booming economy." Clay Travis @ClayTravis, "Fauci claimed he didn’t shut down schools. Then bragged in his diary that California and New York shut down schools based on his recommendations." Quote, "Tom Elliott @tomselliott, "Dear Diary, Today I shut down NYC and all California. Tony." KanekoaTheGreat @KanekoaTheGreat, "Fauci’s own diary just dropped. Feb 1, 2020. The secret call that produced "Proximal Origin." 12 scientists on the line. Only 2 thought the virus was natural. The other 10 — per Fauci's own notes — "felt that deliberate insertion was possible." They flagged Shi Zhengli's gain-of-function work on coronaviruses in Wuhan by name. 8 days later, Fauci went on Newt Gingrich's podcast: "I've heard these conspiracy theories. And like all conspiracy theories, Newt, they're just conspiracy theories." Then Facebook and Twitter banned you for saying the same thing his own scientists were telling him privately." Hans Mahncke @HansMahncke, "It is a new week, but I still do not think it has sunk in for most people, and perhaps it never will, that the event that upended our lives and changed the world was man-made. Some of us understood that from the beginning. Rand Paul’s recent document releases have now put the case beyond any doubt. The Wuhan lab created Covid and unleashed it on the world. And it could not have done so without Fauci’s help. Those are the facts. So what happens now? When does accountability begin? ..." Northern Barbarian @xnoesbueno, "From the Russia! Russia! Russia! conspiracy, through Covid, through the 2020 election fraud and the suppression of Hunter Biden's laptop, through Joe Biden's cognitive decline, they've learned that simply ignoring massive scandals works." Quote Jimmy Dore @jimmy_dore, "What is most amazing is not that we have the black-and-white evidence of Fauci being a criminal lying fraud maniac mad scientist who operated on fear and lies. But the fact that the people who worshiped him in the first place are not going to take in any of this information nor going to take in any of this information nor get angry or upset. Their worship of Fauci, and all the lies, he told about: -masks, -the infection fatality rate of the virus, -the vaccines stopping transmission, stopping contraction, -the toxic side effects that are off the chart, -the excess deaths caused by the vaccine, -the damage to children’s hearts, kidneys, neurological disorders from the vaccine, -the lies about NOT inventing the virus in the first place. Will still be ignored by the people who most ardently enforced the Fauci Covid narrative because to admit to themselves, all these lies, would mean that they were monsters acting in an evil way and poisoning themselves and their own children, and they just can’t live with that..." The Great Victor Davis Hanson @VDHanson, "Dr Fauci and Mr. Science The Fauci files reveal not just a sociopathic narcissist, but also a pathological schizophrenic. For years, Fauci was assuring the public of Covid narratives that he either knew were untrue, or knew little about. He posed as a non-partisan, even as he collaborated with the leftwing cable news grandees and liberal columnists to hound his enemies and magnify his godhead. From the virus’s origins and effects of the lockdowns, to the efficacy of the mRNA vaccinations to the always changing 0/1/2 masks wearing protocols, Fauci used his massive government agency, and sycophantic media, to promote his always fluid narratives by punishing enemies and rewarding friends—on the basis of their loyalty to Dr. “I represent science”. He seemed to be obsessed with firing White House Covid advisor Scott Atlas, and demonizing Jay Bhattacharya, Sunetra Gupta and Martin Kulldorff—for the crimes of questioning the Fauci party line..."

And a bit more recent Covid news, From Fox, Alleged $32M COVID-19 fraud fugitive captured in Jamaica and returned to US, FBI says, "Elaine Angene Escoe was charged in a $32M COVID-19 pandemic relief fraud scheme allegedly involving wire fraud, money laundering." Flotsam and Jetsam - Israeli Hostages Freed

I was never convinced it was going to happen. From Da Mail, Free at last! Israeli hostages hug one another in joy as all 20 living captives are finally handed over by Hamas following 738 days in Gaza hell as part of Trump's historic peace deal. At Althouse, "The remaining 13 living hostages in Gaza have been transferred into the hands of the Red Cross, the Israeli military said in a statement," "The NYT reports, 51 minutes ago, in its excellent live coverage" and "You know, I'm being a little cute — I don't think there's anything going to get me in heaven." Driscoll at Insty cites ROGER KIMBALL: The Physics and Politics of Peace: Trump’s Triumph in the Middle East and Ben Shapiro "Trump has brokered an unthinkable deal: the release of the final 20 live Israeli hostages, with Israel maintaining a secure posture in the Gaza Strip; the possibility of a non-Hamas future in Gaza, supported by regional allies; the even greater possibility of future Abraham Accords with countries like Saudi Arabia and Indonesia. So, how did this happen? It happened the same way things always happen in the Middle East: The decisionmakers ignored the conventional wisdom. The conventional wisdom said that military action could not guarantee security. That wasn’t just wrong; it was catastrophically wrong: It was military action that took out the supporting pillars beneath Hamas’ feet." Bonchie @bonchieredstate, "Nowhere has the death of the "expert" class been more evident than in foreign policy. Oregon, My Oregon

At the Gates of Vienna, Oregon Drags its Feet on Greater Idaho

For the past two and a half years, I’ve been covering the Greater Idaho Movement, which aims to detach certain counties from eastern Oregon and annex them to Idaho, with which they have a great cultural affinity. Despite votes in the affected counties, the Oregon state legislature has so far failed to respond to the wishes of its eastern residents. One might be tempted to assume that those eastern counties deliver more tax money to the central government than they extract from it, and are therefore too lucrative to let go of.

The account below was sent out as a press release today by Greater Oregon:
LaPine, OR — Proponents of the Greater Idaho Movement released the following statement regarding the close of the Oregon Legislative Session.

“The failure of the Oregon Legislature to move either of the Greater Idaho bills in this session is an affront to the people of Eastern Oregon, as well as the democratic process in general. For five years the people of Eastern Oregon have been making their wishes known at the ballot box. Those wishes are to have elected leaders investigate letting our counties separate and join Idaho. Eastern Oregon representatives sponsored bills in this session to do just that, but were completely ignored by the Democrat majority in Salem. This failure to listen to the people of Eastern Oregon or our elected representatives only reinforces why Eastern Oregon counties need the governance of Idaho, a state far more in line with our values and way of life. After five years of hearing from voters and advocating with legislators to respect voter wishes, it is clear to our organization that Oregon leadership is intent on holding Eastern Oregon counties captive as part of a state we no longer wish to be part of and that federal engagement is necessary to achieve self-determination for the people Eastern Oregon.”

The Greater Idaho Movement seeks to convince Oregon to relocate the Oregon/Idaho state line westward so that the traditionally conservative eastern counties would join the state of Idaho, which the movement says better matches eastern Oregonian values. Since 2020, thirteen counties have passed their measures. The movement believes that moving the border would create a win-win situation for both Oregon and Idaho by better matching voters to state governance and would lower political tension across the state. State lines can be moved through a process called an interstate compact. In January, Greater Idaho bills were introduced in both the Oregon House and Senate requesting border talks or study. Neither of those bills received hearings despite the co-sponsorship of numerous eastern Oregon legislators and a joint letter requesting a hearing from all three state senators whose districts are affected by the proposal.

In 2023 the Idaho House of Representatives passed a resolution inviting the state of Oregon to begin border talks, and the Governor of Idaho has publicly supported border talks as well. The movement has previously reached out to the Governor of Oregon, as well as President Trump asking for support in getting border talks between the two states started.

The Greater Idaho statement may be found here.

I've always thought that that as long as you're going to ask for the politically impossible, you might as well simply seek secession from the remainder of Oregon. Call yourselves Right Oregon, maybe they'll take the hint and become Left Oregon.

At OTP, 13 Oregon Counties Support Secession Ballot Measure In Effort To Join Idaho13 Oregon Counties Support Secession Ballot Measure In Effort To Join Idaho

Thirteen fed-up counties in liberal Oregon have voted in support of measures to start negotiations to secede from the state and join conservative Idaho.

Crook County became the latest to approve the ‘Greater Idaho Measure’ following a vote on Tuesday.

The proposal seeks to move the Oregon border 200 miles to the west, meaning that 14 counties and several partial counties would fall under Idaho state lines.

Organizers behind the Greater Idaho movement say east Oregonians are being alienated by the state’s progressive policies which they blame for high crime rates.

They claim a move to Idaho would allow residents to take advantage of lower taxation and provide better representation and governance.

A view of Greater Idaho from Da Mail,

I notice they now include parts of Norther California and Washington in the scheme, which is reminiscent of the old idea of splitting a new state to be called Jefferson out of Oregon and California. That would at least have had the virtue of creating 2 new conservative Senate seats. If you're going to aim for the politically impossible, you might as well aim high.

From John Sexton at Hat Hair, Arsonist Attacks Portland Police Vehicles

When Portland police arrived at a department training facility to help with a fire on Thursday morning, they found at least 15 patrol vehicles burning.

The Portland Police Bureau is searching for a suspected arsonist who they believe set the cop cars on fire around 1:55 a.m. while the vehicles were parked in a fenced training area, the department said in a news release.
The PPB released several photos of the burned cars, including this one.
The investigation is underway but the arsonist was caught on video so there's no question what happened here. The question that does remain is who is responsible. Everyone seems to know the answer even if they aren't saying it outright. Portland anarchists have had quite a week. Wednesday, just prior to the arson, a group walked through the city breaking windows.
Fireworks were set off, windows were broken and property was spray-painted by a group of suspects marching through downtown Portland Wednesday, according to Portland Police Bureau...

Police said among the businesses damaged include banks, coffee shops, cell phone and electronic stores, retail clothing and accessories shops and property belonging to Portland State University.
As mentioned, there was also a lot of damage done to the library at Portland State University. Are all of these things connected? There's no proof of that so far but what we can say is that the same sort of masked anarchists who smash windows and start fires also may have been involved at PSU. The police released a list of everyone they arrested yesterday when they cleared out the campus library and very few of these people strike me as the usual undergrads.

Greater Idaho can't come soon enough.

Oregon, My Oregon

Matt Vespa at TownHall passes along Wait, an Oregon Girl Was Allegedly Gang Raped at School...and No One Called the Police?

What is going on with Portland Public Schools? Third graders are being raped, and no one called the police—that’s the gist of the story. It’s a tale that slapped the school system with a $9 million lawsuit, and rightfully so. In 2022, the victim, then aged 9, was the target of multiple sexual assaults and unwanted advances at Scott Elementary School in Northeast Portland.

The school not calling the police was bad enough. What’s worse is that the alleged attackers weren’t expelled, which is the least this district could have done. Instead, they opted for a safety protocol wherein the girl and her alleged rapists would be given different lunch periods. Is this for real?
Greater Idaho can't come fast enough.

Oregon, My Oregon

Stacy McCain explains why he sees Big Trouble in Cracker Paradise

Just a few years ago, Portland, Oregon, was seen as a sort of progressive utopia, and it’s not really a secret why this was so: Portland is the whitest major city in America. Progressive like to talk about “diversity,” but they prefer to admire it from a comfortable distance, you understand.

So you had a lot of white hipsters moving to Portland, which gives them the desirable urban environment without having to deal with large numbers of brown people. Hypocrisy much? Anyway . . .

To say that Portland’s politics leans left is an understatement — Multnomah County gave 79% of its vote to Joe Biden in 2020, and it would have been higher were it not for the fact that about 3% voted for fringe left-wing candidates. The relationship between the whiteness of Portland and the left-wing politics of Portland is not merely coincidental. It is easier to believe socialism “works” in an ethnically homogenous polity (which is why socialism was so popular in places like Sweden). Once “diversity” enters the picture, however, people become suspicious that some groups are benefiting more than others from the collectivist redistribution racket, and the result — in America, at least — is what I’ve called “Missippification.” Pondering state-by-state results and exit-poll data after the 2000 election (Bush v. Gore), I noticed that Mississippi had both (a) one of the highest percentages of black population in the country and (b) the highest percentage of white people voting Republican, rivaled only by South Carolina. The more black people, the more white people vote Republican — this is the factor I call “MIssippification.”

Portland proves this principle in reverse — a predominately white city populated by the kind of left-wing kooks who like Bernie Sanders, but think he’s perhaps too “mainstream” for their taste. It’s no surprise that Portland is a hotbed of “Antifa” radicalism, just like it’s no surprise that Portland has a significant homelessness problem:
An Oregon family armed with fire extinguishers had to repeatedly save their home from fires after homeless squatters set a next-door house ablaze twice in one day.
Jacob Adams said he jumped into action as flames from both infernos threatened to leap over to their Portland property in the latest in a string of terrifying experiences since squatters took over the neighboring structure five years earlier.
“There are fires that have been happening off and on. Major ones. This recent one actually came and set our property on fire,” Adams told Fox 12.
“Within 12 hours of that fire, another fire popped up. My wife was screaming, and propane tanks were igniting off from the fire.” . . .
Portland has been dealing with a long-lasting homeless problem. There are over 6,600 homeless people in Portland across more than 700 encampments.
Although the city’s Mayor Ted Wheeler announced in October [2022] plans to ban the camps, the tent cities have largely remained undisturbed by city officials, including police.
The lax enforcement has allowed squatters to take over homes like the one next door to Adams, despite being served multiple eviction notices.
Over the past five years, Adams said he’s reported multiple thefts — including one culprit he caught stalking off their property with their firewood — drug usage and physical fights inside the rapidly deteriorating home, but to no avail.
See how this works? The leftist politics of Portland encourages and empowers the white trash segment of the population, so drug-addled misfits take over vacant homes and terrorize the neighbors.

If you think Oregon leans left now, just wait until the rural counties leave to join Greater Idaho.

Oregon, My Oregon, Another County Votes to Secede from Portlandia

Leslie Eastman at LI, Twelfth Oregon County Votes to Join the “Greater Idaho” Movement. "These counties do not want to be part of the “Greater Utopia” that includes Portland."

This January, I wrote that one Oregon county submitted a petition that added a ballot initiative for joining 11 other of the state’s counties in the “Greater Idaho” movement.

The votes have been counted and its official: Wallowa County is now part of the “Greater Idaho” movement.
The vote originally took place in May, with preliminary results showing support for the effort leading by only 21 votes. After all votes were finalized in June, the lead shrunk to only seven votes, narrowly avoiding the state requirement for a recount.

The “Greater Idaho” effort originally began in 2020 as an idea for large swaths of rural eastern Oregon to secede and join the more conservative Idaho to get away from the western, progressive part of the state.

With Wallowa County’s vote, 12 out of 12 counties that have held an election on a “Greater Idaho” measure of any kind have voted in favor of exploring the move.
The adage “every vote counts” was certainly true in this case.
The 50.1% to 49.9% split in Wallowa County will require its commissioners to discuss merging with Idaho and won’t trigger a recount, an elections official in Wallowa County confirmed to The Oregonian/OregonLive.

The final vote count stood at 1,752 people for Measure 32-007, which will require that commissioners “meet twice annually to discuss promoting Wallowa County interest in relocating Idaho borders to include Wallowa County,” versus 1,745 people against it.

Wallowa County Clerk Sandy Lathrop said the measure missed the requirement for a mandatory recount by just one vote. A recount is required by Oregon law when the winning margin is less than or equal to .2%, which is 6.994 votes in this instance. The state does not round up, she said, so seven votes wasn’t small enough to force a recount.

Lathrop also said six contested ballots were not cured before Tuesday’s 5 p.m. deadline.

Of course, they cannot really secede without the agreement of the Oregon legislature, the Idaho legislature, and the US Congress, so any such move is in the far future, if possible at all. But hopefully it's a warning shot to the Willamette Valley centric Oregon government that the hinterlands are getting restive. As long as you're trying, why not just secede to form a new state, and get 2 Senators.

Vicky Taft at PJM, Portland's 'Controlled Demolition' Into Dystopia May Be Unrecoverable Thanks to George Soros and Dumb Voters

You can’t say Portland had good intentions because they should have known that what they were trying to do wouldn’t “solve” the drug and homeless problems in the metro areas. Free-wheeling drugs and government tents have never worked anywhere they’ve been tried. Never. Not in San Francisco, not in Los Angeles, not in San Diego, and not in Seattle. But the we’re-smarter-than-you set just threw millions more at it, ignoring that Portland doesn’t just have a homeless problem; it’s got a drug problem. And predictably, things are worse.

Oregonians can blame their “progressive” leaders, George Soros, and the voters staring back at them in mirrors for this mess.

The governmental equivalent of the Bermuda Triangle — state progressives, Multnomah county actors, and Portland activists — have worked together to dispirit the people through their lawlessness, destroy their once beautiful metro area with tents and bodies strewn about, and make it a hospitable place, as a local photographer put it, “for people to come to our city to kill themselves.”

These progressives have chased out several retailers. On Monday, Pacific Northwest outdoor outfitter REI told its members it would close its doors in NW downtown, citing break-ins and thefts.

Soros has had a hand in Portland’s decline. Soros’s Drug Policy Alliance, on whose board he sits, was the force behind a measure passed by Oregon voters in 2020 to decriminalize hard drugs. Measure 110 allows crackheads to carry a personal amount of hard drugs. So, of course, they’re always high. Rarely is anyone arrested for drug possession because that’s racist or inequitable. They’re let off with a ticket and a promise to go to state-paid drug counseling that doesn’t exist to any great degree yet, though the state claims it’s helped 60,000 drug addicts.

Oregon is well-trod ground for Soros. Undermining the dignity of human beings and society is his aim. In the late 1990’s, his Open Society organization shoved through the so-called “Death with Dignity” law to get doctors to help people kill themselves. Then he backed the fraudulent “medical marijuana” statewide measure. Then came his Secretary of State project to undermine elections, and then his District Attorneys project, which threw traditional law out the window. Then came legalizing pot. And now this.

They voted poorly. Soon the rest of Oregon will need to build a wall around Portland to keep the loonies in, that is, unless they succeed  in joining Greater Idaho.

Epoch Times, Pro-Gun Rights Economist Disinvited From Committee Hearing by Oregon Senate Democrats
Oregon Senate Democrats disinvited economist and gun rights researcher John Lott from a Senate Judiciary Committee hearing based on criticism from anti-gun online publications.

Democratic State Sen. Floyd Prozanski “had read something from Media Matters attacking me and said I didn’t have the credentials to be an expert,” Lott told The Epoch Times.

Lott had been invited by Republican State Sen. John Linthicum to testify as an expert witness in an April 6 hearing on SB 348, which would increase the requirements of Ballot Measure 114, approved by voters in November 2022 but is now tied up in the courts.

Linthicum had asked Lott, who has extensive experience studying the effect of gun control laws on society, to explain how SB 348 would impact Oregonians. Lott said that, as he was on his way, he received a call from Linthicum telling him that Prozanski had decided not to allow Lott to testify.

Prozanski then called a witness from the National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF) to testify for the Republicans. Lott said he had never had this happen before.

“Basically, the Democratic committee decided for the Republicans who their experts would be,” Lott said.

Just more reason for Greater Idaho.
