Well, that was a nice break; after medical stuff in the morning (no, not the eye, but it turns out I don't have skin cancer, yet), a niece from the Left Coast showed up with one day's warning with her boyfriend in tow. They were travelling between a wedding in Manhattan, and a skate park in North Carolina. I persuaded the waitress to bring her a small glass of cranberry juice, which she stubbornly finished off, but admitted that apple juice was the better choice after all.
