For the first time since a 72-inch wastewater pipe burst along the Clara Barton Parkway, DC Water engineers say there are no sanitary sewer overflows escaping from the damaged section of the Potomac Interceptor since the incident happened.
DC Water says the pipe collapsed on Jan. 19. The burst led to roughly 200 to 300 million gallons of raw sewage pouring into the Potomac, according to the Potomac Riverkeepers.
Well, good. Better late than never.
